Wgeffon
Exactly 6 week after placing an order for a new BMW 135i it arrived at my dealership. I picked it up today. My salesman said this was a little faster than the usual wait time by a couple of weeks. They generally figure 8 weeks on a custom order. I asked my salesman about their delivery detailing process because after being on this site for a while now I am much more informed about what should and shouldn't be done. He assured me that their guy was a pro and that I didn't have anything to worry about. He Clay'd the car and put a coat of wax on. I realize there are some steps missed in between the claying and the wax but I figured it would be good enough for the time being. I plan on stripping their wax off and doing a complete detail soon. Anyway, here are some shots of the car. It's fast and handles really well. I love it.
00pewter
That's a good looking ride... Did you get to track it's journey here to the US? I heard that was an option...
Wgeffon
Yes. You can log into BMW USA with your production number and it shows the start and completion of various stages. Start of production, end of production. Enroute to US, arrived. The site seemed to be be several days behind what was going on with the car in reality though. The dealerships get more detailed information and if you have a good salesperson they will keep you informed. If you figure 8 weeks you'll be in the ballpark. I was just lucky to get it in 6.
