vettett15
Picked up a 97 BMW 328 which has really nice paint except for the roof where it is oxidized. Wondered if you guys thought it was able to be saved and if so what products/methods would you use? Thanks Pete
0 Ricky Bobby
Anything is able to be saved for the most part unless you are flaking off the clear coat with your fingernail lol - Besides the oxidation always start with least aggressive method first - after you decontaminate the surface, try Revive by hand, see if it improves it any - if it does, make a pass with Finishing polish and white foam just to see how that does - if you get more improvement and think you'd like to try orange foam pad with Correcting polish then go for it - I don't think you'd need the microfiber pads for the heaviest cut - But yes as long as you don't have flaking clear coat I would start least aggressive and work your way down until you get the results you desire - do a 2x2 test spot, 1/4 of the hood, etc - once you nail down the process, complete the car - bring the beauty back to life! 0 Chris@Adams
If it is just oxidation yes if it is clear coat failure then no. If it is just oxidation it's probably going to take CP & Orange pad or the Orange MF pad like I had to use on this paint correction. Check out this oxidized paint that I saved. 0 Chris@Adams
Yeah probably, like you said it would have taken a good bit longer.
