Extension cord

Ls1transam

Question

What kind of extension cords are you guys using? I have a 16 gauge, 50ft cord for my Rupes 15 Mark 2. My cord has a place for a ground on it. But the Rupes only has two prongs instead of 3, which is for the ground. Hope that doesn't matter. I'm also just wanting to make sure I have a good enough cord. I don't want to hurt my Rupes. I love this thing lol

The LHR15II has a 4A motor, so a 16 gauge cord at 50 feet long is adequate per the table in the Instruction Manual.

However, I personally prefer to use a smaller gauge cord (bigger wires) and the shortest length cord possible, rather than the minimum.  Note that the cord on the tool is 18 gauge, so going with a heavier duty cord (14 gauge) would account for this in your overall length.

The tool is double-insulated, so a ground is not needed.

I use a 12ga 50ft ....

Same for me.  Picked one up on sale at Lowe's several years ago.  I know I will never have a problem with the tool with this cord.
