Aftermarket Paint Job Vs. OEM Paint Job

I am new to this and have some questions about the paint prior to me starting the detailing process:

 

I was told that my vette has been painted and is not original. Is this cause of concern prior to me breaking out the PC on the car??

Of course, it depends on how good of a job they did with the repaint, but unless it's brand new, I wouldn't worry too much. Start out slow in a small unnoticable area to test it first and go from there. Pics?

From what I've heard most of the time aftermarket clears are thicker than factory ones, but thats just what i've heard...
