New car swirls

My black Silverado is only a few weeks old, and it already has swirl marks(light scratches). I can’t figure out where they came from..Am I going to have to polish them out?

Also, they sprayed a paint protection on it at the dealership. Can I do a ceramic coat over it?

You’ll want to strip whatever is on it. If it’s like a Simoniz glass coat, it’ll come right off with some polish. 

 

But yes, swirls you’ll have to polish them out. We did a 2019 Dodge Ram with 800 miles on it that had so many swirls that we actually compounded it prior to coating. 

 

Break out that polisher and fix them and protect it.

Def need to get the polisher out, stealerships are known to install copious amounts of them for you at no extra charge!

Agreed with both Shane and Jim, not unusual at all. And black shows EVERYTHING anyway, so you'll need to come to grips with that even after you polish, etc. Comes with the territory. But also an excuse to make more purchases!
