0 Nitelord
I've heard a lot of talk about the CR Spotless systems. I'm aware of two different sizes, depending on your needs. Here's a link to what each look like. http://www.detailersdomain.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=160 http://www.detailersdomain.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=

0 Nitelord
I have one that I've been using with my RV. Maybe check out some of those systems, they can be sub $100.00 I think mine was $75 including shipping. Including a stand, the filter, hoses and a pressure regulator. You don't need all that. Another linky.. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/culligan-rvf-10-exterior-water-filter/12874

0 97F1504RAD
Try this one. I myself use this one and like it alot. The only thing i do not like about them is they reduce the water pressure coming out the hose http://www.autogeek.net/deluxe-filter-system.html And i have seen this one http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/car+care/car+washing/car+cleaning+tools/in-line+water+softener+%26+deionizer+with+fittings.do Edited November 17, 2008 by 97F1504RAD
0 CRQuarto
I use the CRSpotless system, the large one, and it works great! I would highly recommend it, but keep in mind that if you have extremely hard water any filter system is going to be taxed too much and will need to be recharged often. 0 08G8V8
I called the water district in my area, and they said the TDS level in my area ranges from 38-54ppm. Looking at the info on the CRSpotless site, it looks like I would get the maximum amount of water out of a change of resin. I just have to decide if I need the large or small unit, or if they unit from Autogeek would be fine since my water isn't that bad. Looks like CRSpotless is offering 1 replacement resin and quick disconnects on the CRSpotless site, similar to what Costco is offering(but no hose, which I really don't need anyway). I just wish my local Costco still carried them in store since they sell for $299 in store vs. $370 shipped. Ordering direct from CRS would allow me to go with the smaller unit and save the sales tax. I hate sales tax!
0 smjp
Looking at some of the suggestions or links on filtration systems, I have to question the effectiveness for the price. Example of the CR Spotless DIC-10 with Cart for the most part is nothing but 2 10” cartridges filled with de-ionizing beads. These do not necessarily remove the minerals and sediment at the high flow rate of your garden hose. Also one can purchase the cartridges and bulk de-ionizing beads for much less. I wonder if one were to purchase a shower head filter that removes sediment,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p> would be just as effective for 2 or 3 hundred dollars less. Just connect it to your hose for the final rinse cycle.<o:p></o:p>
0 rnoggle
I have a water softener in the house. When I installed hot and cold water faucets in my garage, I connected them to the hot and cold water lines in the house that carry "soft" water to the laundry room. Since my basement hadn't been finished off yet, this was pretty easy to do. The difference between this water and the water from the other outside faucet is unbelievable. No watar spots after washing at all!

0 CRQuarto
The CR system works best with a pressure washer as the washer reduces the flow considerably
