The battery has a short run time between recharges. Around 5 minutes of run time.

They're showing a DC31 Animal in the last URL but I don't see where they're calling it that so verify that's what you're getting.

 

The DC31 or DC31 Animal are the ones you want. The DC16 isn't even made anymore. The Animal would be the best of the two DC31's. With the new Digital motor battery run time will exceed other vacuums. http://www.dyson.com/store/product.asp?product=DC31-ANIMAL

 

 

I have the DC28 which is their top Animal vacuum model. The thing is STUPID! The suction is second to none that I've tried, and I tried a lot of them. With two dogs in my house, I need the best vacuum I could find. It wasn't cheap but you get what you pay for IMO.

I have a dyson vac for the house, love it. Well designed and works great.

 

We bought one of the cordless vacs for light cleanup and the charge just didn't last long at all. If you only need to clean for a minute or 2 at a time its great, but I wouldn't have used it in the garage as I would've never finished an interior. Ended up returning it to costco.

Was it a new one with the digital motor?

 

I ONLY use mine for crumbs and such. NO WAY you can do a whole car with it.

Not really, unless you're doing just crumbs and such. If you're doing a TON of vacuuming then a full size 110vac vacuum is the only way to fly IMO.

i just got my Vac n Blow 500 and the blaster sidekick. I was delightfully impressed with the 500. That sidekick is a BEAST for it's size!!!
