SVRT looks smeared after rain
DirtyBlackHoe replied to DirtyBlackHoe's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
Thank you so much guys for the help...I will get some APC and strip them down and then reapply. I can't stand that streaking look! -
SVRT looks smeared after rain
DirtyBlackHoe replied to DirtyBlackHoe's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
OK one more question...the rear bumper section on my mother in laws 2001 4Runner is faded as can be...I didn't get anywhere with SVRT, so should i try to simple green it and then use it, or is it possibly just too far gone to fix? that's what it looks like...stole the image off the nets -

SVRT looks smeared after rain
DirtyBlackHoe posted a question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
I am completely new to this, so I am 99% sure it is something that I am doing wrong. I corrected my wifes truck and after it rained, everywhere that I applied SVRT seemed to streak and run down the side of the truck...under all the windows and trim there is residue...did I apply too much? What am I doing wrong? -
Well yesterday I got the urge to give the 4Runner a shot and man what a change...just like that last time I didn't take any before pictures (I have got to remember to do this). It was just cooler (mid 80's) than it was when I did the last vehicle and dusting was very very minimal. I couldn't be happier than how I am with the Adam's 2 step and the FLEX...that thing does some serious work...Here are a few pictures:

Machine Super Sealant???
DirtyBlackHoe replied to Spiceredm606's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
I never tried to do it dry...I figured the DS would help the towel glide smother...i will do it without the detail spray next time, but good to know I didn't mess anything up by using the spray -
Machine Super Sealant???

Might be dumb questions but is detail spray ok to use while removing the sealant reside after the 20-30 minute cure time? -
I got Adams!!!!

wow that is a lot of product -
agreed...seriously though that lady has been a better mother in law than I could have ever hoped for. She always loves having our kids at her house, can throw down in the kitchen, and is always there for my wife. That is priceless...I wonder if I should use the MF pads on the paint or the foam?
-
hahaha I wouldn't charge her. She is actually my wife's Aunt, but she raised her and has taken care of her since her mother wasn't the best mom. She got upset with me yesterday when I told her I wouldn't do it unless it was for free...so she told my wife to let her know what supplies I use so she can replace them...
-
Thanks Dylan...sounds like I need to place an order for another set of pads and some detail spray
-
It is a white Limited with the silver on the bottom...do I need to be extra careful or change things up if it is single stage?
-
Dang not good...I told her I would do it for free since she is always doing stuff for the family and our kids...maybe I will tell her $50 so I can buy some new pads when I am done

Thanks a ton guys...I am 99% sure it isn't that the clearcoat has failed. My mother in law washes it prolly 2x a month and it sits in a garage when she isn't at work. It honestly looks like oxidation, but I will try to get a picture this afternoon to show you guys.
-
I am looking at detailing my Mother In Laws 2001 4 Runner this weekend and it is in really rough shape as far as oxidation. Is the 2 step process going to have enough cut with the flex to get the oxidation taken care of? Any tips?

New 2 Step Correction - 2013 Ford Fusion
DirtyBlackHoe replied to man5011's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
wow very impressive! -
Well I didn't waste much time, and jumped right on the Tahoe as soon as I got a minute this weekend. I didn't get before pictures (I was too excited to start) but let me just say that it was beat. It has been outside it's whole life, driven by my wife for the last 3.5 years, and definitely wasn't taken care of cosmetically. I am very impressed with the results and it was much faster than I thought it would be. I am sure that I went a little faster than I should have (some deep scratches just didn't come out), but from what I can tell there are NO swirls in the paint and it looks amazing. Complaints - I do feel like eventually I will end up getting a polish with a little more cut, but for now it worked great. The only real problem I had is that I couldn't get the Correcting Polish to stop dusting...It could have been technique, it could have been that it was 94 degrees outside with 40-50% humidity. No telling, but everyone that has seen it so far is in awe of the paint and I love it. Well here are the pictures guys Wife showing off the paint correction with an improptu CRUNK Pose from the truck.

Quick question...I have seen on a few different sites that people lubricate the felt ring on the Flex...is this recommended or not?
