  1. I spent a good few hours on the forums and the general concenious was like you've all stated here - it's all in the prep. I was asking about self leveling because I have a portion of decaying cement from road salt that has taken its toll on it over the years. But I've read about patching the said areas and sanding smooth which is what I would do. I'll let everyone know what I decide to go with if I end up doing it. May hold off right now because it's been recommended to use contractor grade equipment and it's alot more involved and expensive than I had originally planned.
  2. Thanks for the links, Ill check them out tonight!
  3. I've been wanting to do this for quite some time and wondering if anyone has a recommendation for me with the product(s) they've used. One thing I need to make sure is that it is self leveling and i'm able to build it up to a 1/4" or so. Ive got a few deep spots that need to be filled in.
  4. Looking forward to reading everyone's reviews on this
  5. That's it, I'm pulling the trigger and going to order some up and try it for myself.
  6. Jason, you want your sealant to go directly on the paint. Then you can top with glaze and americana.
  7. Great, ordering today. Thanks for the recommendation
  8. Sweet! Any plans on finishing out the kit with the front bumper/hood?
  9. Tire shine eh? SVRT for me too. Id really like to see a wheel specific wax similar to Swissvax Autobahn.
  10. Gerry's recommendation above is definitely the safest, but I have never had a problem using a hose on any engine bay. My steps 1. Wait for the engine to be completely cool to the touch 2. Cover up any areas you dont want water to touch/rest (aftermarket air filters are a big one) 3. Hose down the engine bay and knock out as much grime and dirt as you can 4. Spray with APC and agitate with various brushes 5. Rise with hose 6. Start engine 7. Dry 8. Dress
  11. Makes sense. Either way, that black is uber wet looking. Great looking ride
  12. Looks great, as does the engine bay. Im trying to figure out what trim vette that is. Is it a c6 with Z fenders and rear quarters?
  13. Looks amazing, and welcome! Somone correct me if I'm wrong; buttery then americana? Seems a bit much
  14. First off, I hope this post is allowed here, if no please move/remove. What do you guys recommend? I love 303 products, but have read some not so good things about their fabric guard. Mainly the 4+ hour dry time. Chemical guys looks pretty good, and scotch guard is always an option. Any personal recommendations?
  15. Waterless wash. Not really a scent, but the worst to use in my opinion is in and out spray. Great stuff, but if I get to much of a wif I start coughing pretty good
  16. Great results for your first time
  17. With the money youll spend on having someone else do it, you could spend that on products to detail your car(s) for months to come. You have a HUGE headstart having a porter cable with the pads and already having product on hand.
  18. After a long day at work yesterday I wanted to touch up my car before I went in for the night. I broke out some products, one of them being waterless wash and wiped down the door jams. I've always known how good it smelled, but on an empty stomach it was on another level! This WW had me STARVING! Next time I'm detailing on an empty stomach I'll have to use some otc products that dont have these delicious scents Happened to anyone else?
