Coated Exhaust Tips - 2016 Jeep GC SRT Night
gma3748 replied to gma3748's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
That's just a reflection. It's an all black tip; plano black finish when they are clean. Going to try and coat them with a wheel coating and see how it holds up. Sound right or would that be a mistake? -
Thanks for the response. What do you mean by “deep clean”? Would taking a correcting (orange) pad and some polish with a 4" pad/drill do the trick? Or is there another method that would be more efficient?

Added the ceramic wheel coating to my wife’s SRT Grand Cherokee with Brembos that are pretty dusty. Its been a year year and I’ve noticed the hydrophobic properties have faded a good deal. I ordered a bottle of the new wheel coating that arrived today. Wondering how best to prep for the new coating. Do I need to “buff off” the entire surface since there’s probably some of the old coating left?

Coated Exhaust Tips - 2016 Jeep GC SRT Night
gma3748 replied to gma3748's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Used APC to clean the surface, a microfiber applicator and orange correcting polish to clean them up. Turned out well I think. -
My wife has a 2016 Jeep GC SRT Night edition with the black accents, including black exhaust tips. I've tried APC and metal polish, but I'm either doing it wrong or I'm using the wrong products. I'm afraid to use 0000 steel wool due to the paint/coating on the tips. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to get these things back to looking new? (and no, the dealer garbage isn't on the vehicle anymore; just the only pic I could find of the rear)

Satin black painted wheels
gma3748 replied to jvs0302's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
Sounds like you got an answer already, but we've got a '16 Jeep GC SRT Night and the satin black wheels. I added the ceramic wheel coating to them since the brake dust from the Brembos is so bad. I noticed very little in the way of extra shine but the time I spend cleaning the wheels was drastically reduced. I would definitely coat them again. -

New Wheel Woolie

Have the same issues as the rest of you. It just doesn't fit either set of wheels my vehicles have. Hope they come out with the trio again. Would definitely pick up a set!
