  1. Glass is way way harder than clearcoat and even a compound isn't going to hurt it. An orange pad and the fine machine polish does seem to do a very nice job cleaning windshields.
  2. Always been a beautiful color, one of my favorites.
  3. Sweet looking SRT8. One of my buddies has one and loves his.
  4. Most importantly you need to invest in a powerwasher to blow the heavy grit off. I've had Superduty's that get used day in and day out doing construction, going skiing, snowmobiling, etc and I've found you have to use something to blow the big stuff off before you even start cleaning to avoid hurting the paint.
  5. Just finished building a new house of my own (I did it myself) and it's definitely good being able to change things on the go. What type of house are you guys thinking building?
  6. I would go and look at a Crew Cab Ecoboost. Those motors are hard to beat. I would take it over the 6.2 in either the Chevy or Ford. As for the Raptor being overpriced they are about 3,000 more than a comparably equipped F150. Go out and try to get even CLOSE to having all the mods that a Raptor comes with (and a factory warranty). The suspension system would be easily 3-4,000 to replicate .
  7. I've always wanted to buy a dually but I just have no REAL justification for one. I don't tow over 15,000 pounds. I guess I just need to buy a bigger trailer
  8. Thanks for the welcome back! Life has been getting in the way of free time lately.
  9. Looking good! I swear one of these days when I finally start making money again I'll come down and go skiing there and visit the warehouse! I have a free place to stay somewhere down in that area in the form of my uncles house. Maybe I could even get him to bring his 69 Camaro Z28 over to the shop, I'm sure all you Chevy fans would get a kick out of it Also Adam it's great to see your success throughout this bad economy! The construction sector has been getting better but I still haven't bought a new company vehicle since 2008 . I wish you the best of luck in future endeavors and hope your growth continues!
  10. I once sanded my raw diesel exhaust tips (they are a twin style similar to yours) and after starting at 1500 grit then moving to 2,000 and finally onto polish they looks very bright but definitely didn't have a mirror finish. Then the diesel heat and rain discolored them after about a 1000 miles Of course I didn't spend a ton of time on them but hopefully your results turn out better than mine.
  11. While part of this may have been done at the dealer the Italian factories seems to love sending out cars that have sanding marks, buffing trails, holograms and other flaws. I do not expect my mass produced cars ( I love them but they are mass produced) to have these kind of problems and as long as you don't let the monkey's get ahold of them at the dealer I feel like they have a better base to work with than these improperly detailed supercars.
  12. At least it is not included when you are filing an incident claim with the state patrol (has to be over $700 to qualify as an incident i guess?). I haven't dealt with this for around 5 years so things could have changed.
  13. Would it be that hard to do my own vehicle? I know this is an open ended question but I can get free extra film from a buddy and it will be for my work truck that I don't really care much about (doesn't need to be anywhere close to perfect like on my nice cars). I was just going to throw some 5% on the back window and 20% on the sides. Here's a pic of the truck for reference
  14. Days that I don't need to haul I drive the little one and the other days well
  15. In WA the windshield can not be considered as part of damages either.
  16. Are you saying that the windows become hotter than normal without tint which translates into the inside of the car being hotter? A car interior heats up because short wave radiation from the sun is transferred into the interior of your car and then is released in the form of longwave radiation therefor heating up the interior of the vehicle. The darker tint will let less short wave radiation into your car, thereby reducing the interior temperature compared to that of a car with no tint. My mustang which came with all around clear windows was noticeably cooler on sunny days after having the windows tinted 20% all around.
  17. I really wish I had done some before/afters on an 06 dodge dually. Looks like the tires had never been degreased and the white letters were barely visible as they were so brown/covered in silicon tire dressing and dirt. A couple passes with APC and they looked brand new. Of course I have no before pics!
  18. Yea there's a difference between a waterless wash like adams and a dedicated no-rinse wash system. I would recommend going to a coin place and blowing off the big stuff and doing a normal wash.
  19. Pretty crazy for only 2 hours of work, looks great (especially for the time).
  20. Even GWC will probably strip it off after 1 or 2 times, depending on dwell time, etc.
  21. Jeff you should come to WA, maybe it would sunshine?
