  1. I am down to my last 5 cans of In and Out spray. Is there anything in the works for a replacement that will make the EPA boys happy?
  2. Thanks, and I made sure when I ordered the C6 wheels they sent blank center caps so I could put the C5 Logo on.
  3. I decided to get do little cleaning so I took some pictures as I went along. I started with the wheel well areas and some suspension cleaning first. Also polished the Exhaust. Started with Adams All Purpose Cleaner and a bucket of hot water. Then the Metal Polish #1 followed by #2. Left Rear Wheel Well Area I know the Rotors have to go that is my next project Drill and slotted Rotors. Exhaust and Rear Suspension Next I moved on to the interior. A good Vacume and the dress the interior with Adams VRT dressing. I use this most of the time and apply the leather conditioner about three times a year. Also did the door Jamb area with clay bar the polish and wax by hand. On to engine compartment. Used my air compressor to blow out and loose dirt and sand, then a little Adams All Purpose Cleaner, Brillent Spray Glaze and VRT. Last but not least the exterior and wheels. The paint was not in need of a full detail (Clay bar, Swirl and Haze Remover, Fine Machine polise and Super Wax) a simlpe wash with Adams Cae Wash and then a coat of Brillent Spray Glaze in the body and wheels.
  4. I us to use Liquid Glass all the time back in the mid 80's and unless the make up of Liguid Glass has changed you should not have any problems removing what maybe on the finish. It really never had a lasting ability back then and I would apply it in multiple layers with about two hours between each layer. I had the car (77 vette) re-painted and there were no issues with the painter and preping the car. Do as other have suggested and you won't have any problems. Now wait until you see the difference in Liquid Glass and Adams. As for the Dawn it should not harm the plactic or rubber as long as you do not use it but once or twice a year.
  5. I am thinking of putting on a set of Grand Sport fender stripes on my 2001 Corvette. They are a high grade of vinyl and the vendor is well respected on the different Corvette forums. Can I apply the most any of the Adams products (Swirl & Haze Remover, Fine Machine Polish, Machine Superwax, Americana Wax and Detail Spray) over the vinyl stripe kit, or should I apply a different dressing and protectant?
  6. I agree, with the 30-60 days, I have never heard of the 6 to 12 minths, but then again it came from your painter. Did you ask why the long wait? It will be interesting to hear what Adam has to say on this.
  7. I never realized how much water they soaked up until now. I normally wash my 01 vette, and then pull it in to the garage and used the leaf blower to basically dry the car. The waffle towel is used only to do a finish wipe down. Now that we are in a water restiction and no car washing at home I took mine to one of the selfservice car washs and need to dry it completely with out the aid of the leaf blower. They sure do the job.
  8. You need to have agood clean well well to start with, and it sounds like you did a good cleaning on them. If the well wheels are already dull, the UCS will not make them dark black. You may need to paint them. The type of paint wil be up to you depending on the look you want (gloss, semi-gloss or flat). I use the UCS on my 01 vette and the wife's Trailblazer. It works great on both, and the Trailblazer has a lot of wheel well that shows. Post some pictures when you get back home of what they look like now and then after you apply a good coat and wipe them down.
  9. I am not 100% sure about the DS removing the BSG, but remember, the BSG does not last long and it offers no protection. I use it just before a show to add the POP to the paint. I believe the DS is just that, something to use to remove light dust and add gloss to the polished and waxed finish. Detail spray and the BSG used alone will not protect your finish. I am in no way a master detailer as some of the other members and Adam's staff, but you need to polish and wax your car/truck regularly and then use the other products in between. I don't drive my 01 vette everyday seeing I am retired, but I do polish it and wax it every couple of months sometimes more often, depending on shows I may attend. But it does get the DS and BSG in between. Also mine is garage kept and covered. If you your vehicle is a daily driver, then you may need to polish it and wax it more often. Here are a few shots. The first couple are just two weeks ago after a complete detail. These were last year between waxes and only used the BSG.
  10. I am waiting on by order so I can try it out. Based on what I hear, I cannot wait. I just did a complete detail a week ago (wash, clay, Swirl and Haze Remover, Fine Machine Polish, and finally a coat of Super Machine Wax). When I receive my order, I will probably only do the machine polish and wax then a couple of coats of the new Americana Wax. Order has not shipped as of yet, probably in the next few days.
  11. I does contain oils that give the paint the wet look. It also helps hide small imperfections. It does not however offer any protections, so make sure you have a good coat of wax on your car. I use it in between waxes. Also you can apply it right after the wax to enhance the shine.
  12. So if I am reading this correctly, I placed my order on Monday, so I will be receiving a towel, CORRECT?
  13. Once you start you will not be able to stop, because every products works great. Good luck on your G/F's car. Post some before and after pictures. Hopefully the paint is not to bad and the Swirl & Haze Remover helps. You may need a PC buffer, and also, clay bar the car first. If you did not order the Adams Clay bar, you can pick up a Mothers Clay Bar at any good automotive store. I would highly recommend the Adams Clay Bar down the road if you are trying to build you supply slowly. I agree with getting the Detail Spray as well as some Brilliant Spray Glaze. Also don't forget the VRT for the tires and other areas. I tried to start slow, but once I tried a few products I simply went wild with purchases. I fianlly decided to order the gallon refills. Oh I almost forgot, the Plush Micro Fiber Towels and the Waffle Drying Towels. Oh and Window Cleaner along with the Undercarriage Spray and All Purpose Cleaner and while you are at it don't forget the different applicators. Well you know what I mean, start slow, but don't forgat anything. Maybe I should become a salesman for Adams Products.
  14. Yes I will. I will follow my normal procedure, which is Fine Machine Polish followed by the Machine Super Wax and then I will allpy two coats of the new paste wax. I just finished claying the car and applying the Swirl & Haze Remover, so I will probably not need to do those steps next time, but I will still give it the old plastic bag test just to make sure it does not need claying.
  15. Ok, I just order some of the new wax. Cannot wait to try it out.
  16. Nice pictures and brings back memories. Mallory Square has the best sunsets I have ever seem.
  17. Thanks Adam and everyone one else that tok the time to answer my question. As you know Adam, if it improves the shine, I will be ordering some.
  18. That was what I was thinking. This idea of retro, in my opinion GM missed the boat. Of the three out there. Dodge Challanger, Ford Mustang and Camaro, the best looking retro is the (and I hate to say it as I am a Chevy driver) Mustang. Dodge gets high marks also for the new Challanger. The Mustang still looks more like the original pony car of the mid 60's early 70's. I see the new Camaro running around all over town with Chrome 22's, just like the 300's mentioned. The new Camaro will not bring GM out of the money problems.
  19. Ok all of you Adams rep's out there, this is for you. I started with the Buttery Wax when I first began using Adams, some two and a half years ago. Then when the new Super Machine Wax was released, I changed over to it, because I had a PC buffer and it seemed like the way to go. I could not be happier with the results I received from both products. Now for my question, what benefit will or can I expect to see if I use the new paste wax instead of the Super Machine Wax? Also is this product as easy to use (apply & remove) as the Buttery Wax or the Super Machine Wax? My car is not a true daily driver and although now that I am retired, it is being used more then when I worked. It is garage kept and covered also in the garage. Thanks
  20. I guess I am just getting to old, but I did not like this new Camaro, when it was first shown as a proto type, and I do not like the final product. As for teh 21 inch wheels, in my opinion, they seem to really over power it. I also do not like the low roof line. The whole car just sems out of proportion, it just does not flow. I'll keep my C5 Thank You Very Much.
  21. Gee and I thought it only worked on Corvette's. Just kidding, nice job and sweet looking ride.
  22. Nice job. You may want to tkink about using the first picture for this months photo contest.
  23. Well I was signed up for a lacal car show yesterday in support of the Susan B Coleman Breast Cancer. I had not polished or wax the vette since last November, so I decided to give is a complete detail for the show. Step 1 washed it followed by clay barring it. Step 2 was the orange pad with Adams Swirl & Haze Remover. Step 3 a good coat of the Fine Machine Polish, let dry and remove with a plush micro fiber towel by hand. Step 4 a fine coat of Super Machine Wax, let dry for about an hour (humidity was a little high here in Florida), remove with a fresh plush micro fiber towel by hand. Here are the results. Oh and I also addressed the engine compartment.
  24. Great idea. I have jacked mine up and put it on jack stands to clean the underside, but your idea sounds good. What kind of lawn sprinkler?
