  1. Man do I love this stuff. Friday night 10 of our club cars help a local high school in the Homecoming event. We arrived at the school at 6:30 and parked the cars in a grassy area. Of course they drew a crowd of the students, parents and faculty. We were there for about an hour and a half before the halftime event. Well as you can imagine there was a nice layer of dust covering the car. Having a open car show early the next day, the first thing I did when I got home was get out the WCW and get started. I finished that phase in a short time and then got to work on the interior, wheels and engine touch up. Saturday morning (7:00 am) off to the show. Again in a grass field (just my luck) Rear hatch open, hood open and windows down (15 - 20 mph wind all day) Exterior covered with layer of dust Interior covered with layer of dust leaves and grass in the rear hatch area along with the same in the engine compartment.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p> My plan was to wash the car today and clean up the interior and engine compartment (again). Oh look there is a hurricane in the gulf that may send heavy rain and wind my way on Tuesday. Break out the WCW again. Completed the complete clean up in about two hours, the WCW as about 20 minutes. Man I love this stuff (did I already say that). I will be ordering the gallon refill tomorrow, as I can see I will be using this product as much as the Detail Spray.<o:p></o:p> Thank you Adam for another great product.<o:p></o:p>
  2. Were all the Corvette's entered new 2010 models?
  3. I placed an order earlier today for the Wheel & Tire Essentials Kit as well as a few other items.
  4. I kind of thought so, but wanted to verify. Thanks to both of you.
  5. I wonder if it is for hand polishing only. My older fersion of the Revive I have used with my orbital. I just checked it out and it works with the pc also.
  6. I need to place an order for a few items and was thinking about adding a bottle of the Green Wheel Cleaner to the order. I was reading about it for the first time today, and noticed it states it is safe on "all types of wheels including clear coated, painted, aluminum, polished and anodized". It does not mention chrome. I am assuming it will not harm the chrome, but thought I would check before the order is placed.
  7. Listen to Dylan, he knows what he is talking about. As I stated as well as other, watch the videos on Adams site. Also Post some pictures of your buddies truck and you will get some excellent advice. Make sure you have good lighting on it so all the trouble areas show.
  8. Lets start from the beginning. I noticed in some of the other posts you mentioned that you used an off the shelf wax. I suggest that if you are serious about detailing get on the Adams site and order the proper products to do the job. If you can afford it get a complete kit. The Adams Duel Action kit will do what you want. You mention that you have not really waxed with a buffer before. You need a Porta Cable buffer (part of the kit) as it will not harm/burn the paint. If you are not a professional, never try a high speed buffer. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Step one is a good bath for the car/truck followed by clay. Next an application of Swirl & Haze Remover, followed by the Fine Machine Polish and finished with a coat of the Super Machine Wax. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> If you watch the video's as suggested you can get the results you want. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> If you can not go with the complete kit, then I suggest that you purchase the Swirl & Haze Remover, Revive Polish and the Buttery Wax. All of these products will work great by hand. You will have to work harder with these verses the items in the kit, because the kit has the pc buffer. I started with the hand application products only because when I was first made aware of the Adams products that was all he offered. <o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> Anything you buy, whichever way you go, you won't go wrong. All of Adam's products are top notch and he and his staff are the best.<o:p></o:p>
  9. There is a video on here comparing the two. I have the 7424 and I will stick with it. The power is only 800 ocp difference. The 7424 is maxed at 6000 and the XP is maxed at 6800. Not sure there is a big difference. Also I used an old Adam trick for removing the polish and wax. I place the micro fiber towel on the car, place the buffer pad in the corner of the towel and wrap part of the towel around the grip handle and the other extra material of the towel around the handle area. With the XP, I would block off the air vents. Also The speed comtrol in on the handle with the XP not on the back, were I do not see that as an advantage, because I have never changed speed while working an area.
  10. He rated the auto car wash the best. Did yoiu see all the water spots. First off would you want to have your car washed and then not dried so you end up with the water spots, and we all know what happens when they are not dealt with. Also I wonder what the paint would actually look if the car was dried with those towels that all the full service cars washes use.
  11. I have taken my 01 Corvette to the do it yourself wash a few times this past summer due to a water restriction we had. I only used the wand to rinse the car. I brought my wash bucket with the grit guard and my Adams wash pad and Adams car wash. So it was almost like doing it at home except I did not have a leaf blower to dry it.
  12. I have the old 7424 and I am happy with it. I do not see the extra 800 opm as a big advantage, nor the placement of the speed control. I for one have never changed the speed while working an area. I like to remove both polish and wax with a microfiber towel and the pc. I end up wrapping part of the towel around the hand grip and the othe half around the back part or handle. With the new XP model I would be blocking the air vents. Looks like I will be sticking with the older version. Thanks for posting.
  13. Are you referring to the Adams Foan Spray gun? If you are I would stick with the Adams Car Wash Shampoo.
  14. Always use the detail spray. You need a lubricant on the finish to remove the dust. I never dry wipe mine.
  15. Actually, the club that put this show on does not have a points system. They go by what you put on your registration form. They do go around and look the cars over to make sure they are in the proper class. When I submitted my registration I had planned to add custom made GS fender stripes and the hood and deck stripe kit to match, but changed my mind. I checked off C5 Stock & Custom with a question mark. When I checked in I saw I was in custom and said to myself it was not important, because I really go to the shows to have fun and see what other cars are there. Don't get me wrong, have putting all the time to get the car show ready, it is always nice to see that the judges liked the work. This is their annual big show and this is my third time attending. I took first place the last two years and also yhey have had two of their other shows this year for charity and I also took first place at both of those in the stock class.
  16. It happened to me once. I put on a nice even coat went into the house and waited about 15-20 minutes then went back to the garage to take it off and I had a haze almost as soon as I finished. I believed it was the high humidity here in Florida. I now let it sit for at least 30 minute maybe more. I have since to have any issues.
  17. Yesterday I was at a Corvette Show in Clearwater Florida. I detailed the car last Thursday and used the Americana wax for the first time. Also another first was I entered the show in the custom division. Although I could have been in the C5 stock, I went custom, which meant I was up against all generation. Well to my surprise I took a third place award. The last two years at this same show in the stock division I took first in the C5 group. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> The reason I went custom, is in my opinion, I feel funny competing in stock, because I have changed to a set of C6 Z06 wheels, Aftermarket exhaust, and the engine is dressed with chrome and painted items. <o:p></o:p> Here are a few pictures.<o:p></o:p> Again it all comes down to Adams Products.<o:p></o:p>
  18. I have a show tomorrow and I have the car all ready. I did the usual, Clay, Swirl & Haxw Removeer, Fine Machine Polish, But I used my Ameriacana for teh first time. I put on two coats. My question is the shine looks great, but will a coat of the BSG add to it or would it be a waste of time?
  19. Ok, I washed and clayed the car. I then applied Swirl & Haze Remover with my pc at setting of 5, followed by applying Fine Machine Polish over the SHR with the pc set at 6. Next I applied a coat on FMP again over the first applications of SHR & FMP again with the pc set back to 5. I am now ready to remove the polish and I will that apply a coat or two of the Americana Wax. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> This will be the first time I have used it. My question is (and it is two part), should I apply a coat of the Super Machine Wax first. Next part, is it best to do a section of the car at a time with the Americana, or can it be applied to the entire car before it is removed.<o:p></o:p>
  20. Happy Birthday Adam. Enjoy it with your family.

    Challenger

I am a Chevy fan I drive a Corvette, but if I was going to by a new car, and it had to be either the new Camaro or the Challenger, I would need to go with the Challenger. I think they did a better job on the resto version. It would have to be black however, I wasnever a fan of the grape or lime color.
  22. Great pictures. I love that part of the country. The wife and I were in Gatlinburg in the beginning of Sept. Where in Tenn. is that.
  23. That cannot be that little new born is it??? Has it been that long ago she was born.. All I can say is watch out for the boys as she gets older. Been there with my daughter and now I have the 5 year old grandaughter to watch out for.
  24. Plus I do collect die cast cars, mostly Corvettes of but I have a few NASCAR, a couple of F1 and a few other race cars.
