  3. Hi there, I thought everyone here on the Forum would like to see the shots I took at Cars and Coffee today. It's a pretty cool meet-up with some cool cars. Enjoy the shots!
  4. Hi Everyone, I wanted to share Adam's and my short experience on Hot Rod Power Tour this year. Adam and I went into the event with only the notion that we should go and experience the tour ourselves. This recommendation came from our good friends and loyal customers, Sydney and Randy Weaver who own Weaver Customs. They do amazing work and I encourage everyone in the world to check out their work. (https://www.instagram.com/weavercustoms/) If you are not familiar with their work, they like to put very powerful diesel engines into customized classic cars plus a lot of other amazing custom creations. Last year they received a lot of notoriety for the build they did of a '62 Ford Unibody with a twin turbo Cummins Diesel called, "Django." Amazing truck and one of my favorite builds I've ever seen! With the recommendation that Adam's Polishes participates in the Hot Rod Power Tour from the Weaver's, Adam wanted to be able to have a hot rod to drive in the event. With Adam's experience and great taste in cars, he chose something that is understated but really cool. He found a '63 Chevy Suburban that used to be a school bus for rural Arizona. He purchased the Suburban and had it shipped directly to our headquarters. Here is the video of the first time the team at Adam's saw the Suburban and took it for a stroll around the business park. The Suburban wasn't in ideal driving condition to do a multi state trip with Hot Rod Power Tour so the car was sent to the Weaver's to put in a new LS3 Motor, new suspension, new exhaust, new wheels and new brakes. Also new digital gauges were added to make sure we knew fuel level and heat while driving long distances. (suspension by Ride Tech, Wheels by Detroit Steel Wheel Co., Gauges by Dakota Digital and build by Weaver Customs.) The truck was finished just in time for Pilot Transport to pick it up and ship it to Gonzales LA, for delivery on Hot Rod Power Tour. Adam and I met AGNS there and did the first leg of the tour, driving to Baytown TX. From there the Weaver's continued on with the Suburban and took it the distance of the tour. I talked to Sydney after they finished in Kansas City and she told me AGNS was amazing, not giving them any trouble along the way and rode amazing. We are very thankful to all that contributed to the creation of AGNS. It is a wonderful car to drive now with all new everything. Because of the time crunch the paint stayed original and most of the interior stayed original which is less then perfect hence the name: All Go No Show! Below is the video and a series of photos from Adam's and my experience on a short lived stint on Hot Rod Power Tour 2016. We had a great time and am looking forward to next year. I hope you all enjoy.
  5. Welcome to the Adam's community Justin!
  6. All of team Adam's is thinking of you. We hope you get better very soon!!!
  7. Everyone! Calvin is the man and that truck wins awards like it's nothing. You'll even be able to see his cameos in the new Volume 10 Video Series. He was out in AZ with us helping out with getting cars ready and finished detailing. He even was able to hand polish on a million dollar Corvette, "The Purple People Eater!" Calvin definitely knows what he's talking about.
  8. Hey James, Joe T. here with Adam's Polishes. I am the creative design employee here at Adam's which means I'm in charge of Videography, Photography, sticker design, stock card design, ect. I thought, maybe, just maybe, I could weigh in on this topic you have posted, which is awesome! First! Thank you for thinking further then your phone for cool photos!!! In these days of escalated technology, everyone is a photographer on their phone, so for someone like yourself looking to get better shots with different technology, that is intended for awesome pictures, more power to you, literally. In the essence of photography there are a lot of rules that are associated with getting an amazing shot like, composition and lighting, but the camera is the best place to start. I would say in your situation I would ask a couple questions: How much do I (James) want to spend? How serious am I about the photography side of things? Where am I going to take the photos? Is the size of the camera a concern? How many lenses do I need? Will I utilize manual settings? Is Joe (me) going to use my shots? First of, "Is Joe going to use my shot?" The answer is yes! Only if you send your shots to me via email!!! (joe@adamspolishes.com). But in all honesty, photography, like others have stated here is something that you'll need to go out and do. It is definitely a hobby. Perfect to pair with the hobby of car care by the way. When it comes to cameras there are a lot of factors that determine price. When it comes to DSLR cameras vs. Mirrorless Cameras, here is a great article about the difference: http://digital-photography-school.com/dslr-versus-mirrorless-which-is-right-for-you/ Personally I use a Canon DSLR camera (actually 2 cameras) to perform my shots. The one nice thing about DSLR cameras is that you don't need adapters to attach lenses to you camera (for the most part). And to be honest with you the lens is where the look of the shot comes from. The lens is really what you're paying for. I have a couple lenses that are equal or more value to the actual camera body. I personally love "prime" lenses. "Prime" lenses do not zoom at all. They are much more crisp when capturing images. The cameras I use are the Canon 6Ds. They have full frame sensors in them and are intended to shoot on all manual settings. Manual settings is what I'm trained on so this camera works perfect for me. Here is a description on what a full frame vs. crop frame sensors are: https://www.borrowlenses.com/blog/2016/02/new-dslr-owners-what-you-must-know-about-full-frame-vs-crop-frame-sensors-before-choosing-a-lens/ Honestly, I feel like Costco (shout out) is a great place to start. They always have great deals on quality cameras. The first camera I ever shot photos on was from Costco. It was the Nikon D5000 camera body with a lens pack. That camera was awesome for personal photos. I had a lot of fun with that camera and got great shots with it. I understand this reply is very technical and there is a lot of information. I wanted to post on this topic to make sure that you know you're on the right track as far as heading towards pro photo capturing. It's all about the fun factor! Personally, I sometimes shoot photos on an old, small accordion style camera from the '40s for fun. I don't always get good shots with it but the process is as fun as the result I get. I would compare it to detailing but I can't because when I use Adam's I always get amazing results. Here is a link to the the 40s camera I shoot on: http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Kodak_Vigilant_Junior_Six-20 I hope this helps James and thank you for your interest in the Photography side of things. I'm curious to see what camera you decide on and look forward to the awesome shots you send to my email (again: joe@adamspolishes.com). Let me know if you have any questions! Call the office or email me anytime, Joe T.

  10. I had no concept of detailing before I was hired at Adam's Polishes 2 years ago. I had been intrigued by the idea of detailing when I first filmed for Adam about 5 years ago but still never had detailed my car. After I was hired and started to get more into creating the videos and having to edit all of Volume 9 Instructional Video Series (the one with the amazing Ferrari's) I started to have the processes of detailing engrained in my head and all I had to do was try it out. One day while taking a break from editing I went down to the detailing bay, washed my car and clayed it. I was astonished at what wash showing up in the clay bar and how smooth the paint was. Needless to say my car looked new (to me) again. I was hooked and now wash year round regardless of the weather. It's interesting to think that the guy behind the camera and editing process learned how to detail from those exact videos I was in charge of creating. It all has to do with Adam and his passion for sharing his knowledge through video on how to detail your car and keep it looking amazing. Everything he preaches in videos is exactly how he uses the products on his own car and all others. No gimmick at all. He delivers a very honest and realistic method and it just so happens that he a stickler for quality so his products are the best. Here are some before and afters of my first wash and clay bar:
  11. Hi Everyone, As you may know, Adam made a video a long while ago about washing your car during the winter. As you can see, this video had an awesome amount of views and was very informative. Recently Adam and I ventured back to Hogback Car Wash in Golden, CO, where the Coors Brewery is, to re-shoot the Winter Washing video. With the add on of Adam's Polishes H2O Guard and Gloss, the whole process of Winter Washing is easier then ever. I would love feedback on the video and just general thoughts on Winter Washing. Adam is the master and is always thinking simplicity so keep that in mind while watching. Enjoy and I look forward to what you all have to say.
  12. I love the input! We are currently searching for some high quality pullovers to put the patch on. Also the patch is a woven patch so it is more thin in order to flex with the pullover for better comfort. Stay tuned and I'll post pictures of physical concepts soon. Again thank you for the feedback!
  13. What? We're closed half day Wednesday? This is an outrage! Looking forward to hanging with the whole crew this Wednesday. Photos and maybe a video will be posted later in the week maybe Monday. Depends on how much fun we really have. Happy Holidays everyone!
  14. No I won't be. I'm sure others here at the headquarters will be logging in a posting stuff.
  15. Hey Everyone, I have started an Adam's Polishes account on SnapChat. It is a cool way to have an inside look at what happens day to day here at the headquarters. I'll be posting to it consistently including, day to day, video shoots, photo shoots, new products and general happenings with the company. I'll post to the "story" part of SnapChat so all of the things I take photos or videos of will be accessible for 24 hours on the app. Check it out and let me know what you guys think. username is AdamsPolishes. Should be cool for everyone to see what's happening on a day to day here at the company. Sneak Peak to a series of photos and video I did today:
  16. Hello Everyone, With winter rapidly approaching we need to be prepared for the extreme weather conditions we will face throughout the winter season. No matter where you live, winter brings its fair share of harsh weather. From rain to snow, winter is definitely not forgiving on our car's exteriors. In this video, Adam describes how to prepare your vehicle for the harsh conditions of winter. Here in CO we are still seeing some decent weather but the snow is right around the corner so it is essential for us to prepare for those conditions. While the snow is harsh on our vehicle, the sand, salt, and magnesium chloride is even worse. I apologize for the length of the video, But!!! The content is too valuable to cut down. Adam touches on a lot of great points. Not only did Adam prepare this car for winter, he made the car look amazing. It was crazy the turn around this Jeep gave us. Our products really took to this vehicle and it was truly amazing to see the transformation. Enjoy the video and any response would be greatly accepted. Thank you all Joe T.
  17. Hi everyone, While I was busy editing the new "Winter Preparation Instructional" video, Dan posted some photos I took from the detail clinic last Saturday. Thank you Dan for posting those. The clinic was a great time and was very informative, especially having Jason and Dylan there from Rupes. It was a great turnout and there were some amazing cars that came through since the weather was perfect. Anyway, I just wanted to add to Dan's gallery of photos I took for you all to see and check out. Thank you again for all the participation and we look forward to the winter detail clinic coming in December. Enjoy and I look forward to hearing your response to the photos. -Joe T.
  18. We're not generally here on Saturday. Sorry my man. If you have some free time Friday that would be a perfect time to swing by and check us out!
  19. That truck is awesome. I've wanted one of those since they announced it. Looking good!
  20. Hey Butter, There is not another Cars and Coffee this Saturday. Only the first Saturday of every month here. But, if you have time you should swing by the headquarters just to hang out and say "what's up." We always enjoy having customers come by the Warehouse. Hope to see you around.
  21. Hey everyone, If you haven't seen our flyer for our Fall Detail Clinic here it is. For all of the CO people here on the Forum make sure you swing by on October 24th at 10am located at our headquarters. We'll have snacks and coffee. Main topics will include: Winter Preparation, Paint Correction with the ability to test all Machine Polishers that we offer, and proper/ safe washing. The photo on the flyer was taken from our previous clinic last Spring and was such a great time. It was great meeting a lot of new people. We were out at Cars and Coffee this last Saturday handing out the flyers but wanted to post here to make sure everyone had the chance to see it. Thank you guys and spread the word! Adam's Polishes Headquarters 587 South Taylor Ave. Louisville CO 80027
  22. Nudge, you won the caption contest with this gem! You have a gallon of Detail Spray your way. Email me (joe@adamspolishes.com) your name and address and I'll get your gallon headed your way. Thank you everyone for participating, there were some great submissions and we all enjoyed the laughter here at the office. Look out for another one coming up soon. Next one will be pictures from the Goodguys, Colorado Nationals show. Thank you again for the participation.
  23. It's a sad day at Adam's Polishes. Adam's refrigerator that he bought for his first warehouse has died. It was a good fridge and it kept the beer cold for a long time. We are saving the freezer door on it thought because it has an awesome piece of our history on it, our first logo. We'll be taking off the door and putting it in the entrance of our our warehouse with some other piece of our history as well. So, make sure when you stop by the headquarters to look out for the original freezer/fridge door. Have a good day everyone and enjoy the 3 day weekend. Remember our Labor Day sale ends tonight at midnight so make sure you take advantage of some great deals. Enjoy the video!
  24. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It was very helpful. Like myself there are many Dads out there that want to spend time with their kids and family and sometimes doing a full detail on a car isn't realistic. The way Adam presented this cleaning method was great and it's something I'll use moving forward. Thanks for your comment and interest in the Daily Driver Detail.
