  1. I took on a huge project for me in my wife's GMC 2014 Denali. I am slowly adding to my Adam's products which will eventually replace all of my Zaino products. Today's detail I used my new Griot's Garage orbital machine with 4" Adam's foam pads. After washing with Dawn I checked for oxidation and did not need to clay. So I started with Adam's Finishing Polish. I liked the ease that it went on with my GG machine, but even more impressed with the ease of buffing it off. I used 1 white pad, but used the Adam's brush to clean it periodically. Next I applied the Adam's Liquid Paint Sealant. Coming from a long time Zaino user I was very impressed with the ease of removing with my buffing towel, but I was actually even more surprised with the quick cure time and the resulting wet shine and slickness. I have some Brillant Glaze, but decided not to use it. I did use the Liquid Paint Sealant on the chrome 20" wheels as I am still waiting on my Quick Sealant to arrive. After today's detailing I was able to compare Zaino's to Adam's and I have to say Adam's has the better product line. I like the idea of correcting defects rather than just concealing them and especially not having to add a quick cure additive to achieve what already comes out of the bottle from Adam's.
  2. Thanks to the Labor Day Sale Quick Sealant is on its way.
  3. Thanks Chris. I'm slowly adding Adam's products to my arsenal, but I don't have Quick Sealant just yet. I I used instead hot water, Dawn, with some All Purpose Cleaner added cleaning the wheels with an applicator. Then applied Liquid Paint Sealant.
  4. Thanks Bruce. You are so right. I have to use a step ladder on this 20" wheeled boat and I'm 6'0". Hopefully after the first full detail it won't be so bad going forward to maintain.
  5. They are OEM wheels and appear to be chrome alloy, but don't know for sure. The vehicle only has 3500 miles and is garage kept, but it has not been detailed since she bought it 9 months ago. Presently I don't have any metal polish 1 or Revive yet. So I will just clean them and add some sealant and worry about swirl marks for the next time.
  6. I know there is a way to test a wheel to see whether or not its clear coated or not, but if anyone knows already let me know. I'm detailing my wife's 2014 Denali over the Labor Day weekend and it comes with some really nice wheels.
  7. I agree with the DO NOT WASH. I've witnessed them before using long handled brushes after they have been laying on the ground and only one bucket and a chamois for drying. Driving it through a car wash would have been better.
  8. Outstanding work! Black is just hard to beat when detailed.
  9. If I wax as my LSP I like to hand wax. But since I got my GG orbital the polishing and sealing steps will be done by machine going forward especially now that I have a 4" back plate and pads..
  10. There is no doubt a black vehicle properly detailed is one awesome sight!
  11. Just curious why you didn't use liquid paint sealant and/or glaze before waxing? Great job.
  12. My plan when my liquid sealant arrives is polish--->sealant----->glaze----->Waxing*. *for me waxing is going to be optional.
  13. Thanks for the heads up. Should get my first order of QS in this coming week.
  14. CRAP!!! I've placed 4 huge orders since being a Forum Member and never once knew about the SHINE ON 10% code for savings. Live and learn......damn!
  15. Welcome. I have been a Zaino's product user for years, but am making the switch over to Adams because I am mostly impressed with their customer service. I have not used their products long enough to make an educated recommendation, but from the products I have used I have been impressed. Plus the Forum for information is top notch.
  16. I used a new Adam's MF Waterless blue towel. The car was not visibly dirty at all. No visable dust, etc. That is why I didn't use the Waterless product first to rinse the hood before I applied the Detail Spray, but I did liberally use the Detail Spray so I would not rub the towel on a dry hood. The towel must have caught a couple of small particles. The scratches were light, but there. I removed the sealant and polish around the 2 scratches and used a little of the Adam's finishing polish on a hand foam pad I had with a white cutting side and and black finishing side and worked the finishing polish in by hand. Problem solved. Reapplied my sealant and back to a scratchless hood.
  17. I had just finished detailing my Lexus earlier this week and it was scratch-free. After driving around town this weekend I decided to spray it down with detail spray. The car was nearly dust free. Sprayed the hood with detail spray and used a clean MF towel. When I finished I discovered 2 nice 12" light scratches that could have only come from the wipe down. When that happens do you guys do a local correction on the hood where the scratches are or re-detail the entire hood? A newbie question but wanted to know. Thanks.
  18. Thanks Chris. Now I can combine my love for photography and car detailing as I enter into retirement in February.
  19. Got it the other day and love it. I did tighten down the caster nuts as the were about a full turn loose. My back thanks me!
