  1. Damn you guys!! You are good at pointing out what I already know and making me feel like an idiot for not just doing it the right way to begin with! I did the touch less and ended in spending 30-45 min wiping it down with detail spray. (Should have used my Waterless Wash, know). So, the next time, I'm doing the self hose-down and then waterless wash.
  2. What if I do t have the kind of time this method requires...?
  3. I'm sure I'll get some passionate responses here... But... I'll be using automatic car washes on my daily driver (M5) during the winter season. I'm not interested in washing my car in the cold. And my garage doesn't have a drain. So, I WILL be using the automatics until the temp gets nicer. So, the question is... What's the preferred type of auto wash: 1. Brushes? 2. Brushless / touch-less? Obviously...With the bushes...I'd be concerned with excessive swirls, scratches, Etc... But I know it can be corrected with paint and finish correcting in the Spring time. But, With the touch-less, would the chemicals do more harm? Thoughts?
  4. I recall getting an Adams decal in every order before. But over my last 3 orders over the last 3 months I haven't received a single decal...... What gives?
  5. Good point. It's a fine balance though. A company like Adams seems to sell on their high-end value more than anything else. So, mass marketing via garments is only going to net so much additional revenue. Much of which could be considered captured regardless. I would think, if they sell the aprons they should cover ALL their costs...including any labor required to source, stock and ship. Of course, if his blended margins are reduced to a point that could hurt his business (say for their ability to obtain lines of credit, additional investors, etc...) then it's not worth it.
  6. I'd say $20 and they'll sell like hot cakes. Now of course, I'm saying that not knowing your cost or target margins.
  7. Who is this guy? Did he leave and now come back? Anyone with 'Von' in their name MUST be the 'TITS'! (Aka,...Awesome)
  8. What's it run in the 1/4? It clearly looks built for the strip. Love that 4th gen F-body. I had a '99 Z running high 10's naturally aspirated. Nice photos bud! Best of luck.
  9. When you break it down to what's 8 hours of my time worth....now that speaks volumes to me. Which is why initially thought I'd just hire someone. But the challenge with that is this is my daily driver and I can't find anyone somewhat local that would use Adams products.
  10. Great idea Adam! Now THAT is how you add VALUE to your offering! Fantastic job!
  11. Thanks guys! I ended up stumbling across it on Adams site.
  12. Ed, you have a good point. Though, I'm not REALLY on a budget. My initial thought was I didn't want to spend more than necessary in case the hobby didn't stick. But as Adam and others pointed out, a lower quality machine may not give me the ideal experience that would allow me to get the most enjoyment. Thanks to everyone.
  13. You'd THINK BMW dealerships would take more care... But you'd be surprised. Some are good. But others are no better than any other car dealership. Even thought BMW's are luxury vehicles, they are not quite at a 'white glove' level that most folks would expect. Quite franky, I would venture to guess MOST BMW owners pay no mind to taking care of their vehicle. I see it all the time. HOWEVER, I picked mine up at the BMW headquarters via a program called 'European Delivery'. So the first time I saw the car it had been freshly buffed and factory prepped. It was as shiny as it ever could be...without some sort of 'paint correction'.
  14. Lol. Maybe..... I'm pretty thick-headed... Or so they say...
  15. Hey guys... another question! I am reading some things talking about a 2-step polish process. But then I'm also seeing a single-step process. I see the Orange pads/polish is step one. The 'cutting' step. And then the White is the finishing step. So, seems to me simply stopping at the Orange step won't complete the polishing process...no? What am I missing here? I'd love to get a great finish with less work!
  16. What kind of prep work do I need to do? I understand the wash and clay process... But I'm talking about taping edges, plastic, cracks/crevices, etc... Where can I get a detailed step by step on prepping for machine polishing? Thanks guys!
  17. Thanks guys... I must say, you've got me now considering my original plan. Thanks again!
