  1. Never thought of the volume/pressure aspect. Thats a good point though, guess i should have added that MB with my order on monday lol. Well, hopefully next time I order I'll grab one. Thanks for the feedback!
  2. Yea I almost bought the sidekick but I use my compressor on air tools and very occasional painting. I figured the money would be better off spent towards making a drier/filtration system for my compressor. I assume since people uses these systems for painting, they will work for drying a car. Just want to make sure they do and that I wont be micro sand blasting my paint every time i wash the truck.
  3. Does anyone here use an air compressor for drying their vehicles? I dont mean straight air from the compressor, I know that can have lots of stuff in it. Ive been thinking of setting up a drier and filter setup, similar to that used for automotive painting. I'm assuming that type of setup would filter out moisture and particulates as to not damage the paint or wheels. Any thoughts or opinions?
  4. When switching out your foam cannon to the spray nozzle on your pressure washer, make sure the spray nozzle is secure in the gun. A 3200 psi sprayer sends a loose spray nozzle flying at about 8000 MPH. Luckily it didnt hit my window or damage my truck.......errrrr my friends window/truck. I would never make such a stupid mistake.
  5. Thanks yall! Not too bad for a hobbiest detailer I suppose lol.
  6. I bought my Silverado almost 4 years to the date and found out about Adams via gm-trucks.com. I finally bought a swirl killer in early 2018 and this is the second time using it. My skills are definitely improving on the correction process. My paint hasnt looked this good since I drove it off the lot. I also applied the tire armor a week ago and its still going strong after 3 days of rain and a car wash. Looking forward to trying the ceramic coating once I use up the rest of my buttery wax and americana. I still havent found an Adams product I dont like but all these new longer lasting trim coatings are by far my favorite. I loath faded trim but even more so I hate the tediousness of cleaning and recoating it.
  7. The "water spots" is actually the finish getting faded. Using dressing is in fact the only way to get rid of this and make the dips color come back to life. The other way is to buy a different brand of dip. I sprayed my wheels with Halo's brand of spray can dip. It leaves a much glossier sheen without dressing. Of course they look even more glossy when I wipe them down with Adams tire shine. Ive had my wheels dipped with halo for over a year and no issues, fading or white spotting.
  8. Finally finished up the master bath remodel and got to wash the vehicles today. Been about 8 weeks since Ive washed the truck and man was it satisfying to see it shine again.
  9. We use the leather conditioner on our leather couch. The place we bought it from made us buy their house brand conditioner in order to get a "free" extended warranty. It was only like $10 so we bought it and threw it right in the trash lol.
  10. Thanks for all the responses. You guys are correct, its that soft plastic stuff peeling. We are ordering some replacement stuff but only broken pieces. I will try the 3M pad first and go from there.
  11. Dang, was hoping to not have to peel this stuff lol. Guess the wife has a project on her hands haha. Thanks for the info.
  12. Noooooo! You may be right as its only a certain type of plastic in the car thats doing it. I'll still try the all purpose first, not really wanting to replace the interior of this car. We do have a steam cleaner for carpet, not sure if that would work. BTW, I just sold my 9th gen corolla. That was such a great car, I had 145k on her and she still ran great. No leaks, didnt burn oil, no trans issues. Were you ever on the 9thgencorolla forum back in the day?
  13. I used the leather and interior cleaner and then detailer. I'll give the all purpose a shot.
  14. So my wife recently bought a 2003 Golf GTI. After come repairs, we finally had time to give the car a complete detail. The car cleaned up nice and luckily the leather has been treated well over its lifetime. Anyhow, we've had one issue. Some of the plastic interior pieces were tacky/sticky. I figured something had gotten spilled. But it was on parts of the interior that would be pretty hard to get liquid on. Anyways, we sprayed the plastic with the interior cleaner, scrubbed it down and it never really came off. I have never seen an interior with this issue. I'd take a picture but it doesnt show well so there's no point. Anyways, I have no idea how to clean this off. My wife ended up picking at one part of the center console and the stuff started coming off. But theres a good 3 panels like this including part of the center console. Like I said, the interior cleaner didnt work (we tried it multiple times) and realistically, picking it clean isnt an option. Is there anything else we can spray on the plastic to try and remove this? FWIW the interior panels are black. I suspect one of the previous owners smoked in the car.
  15. Thanks everyone, I think my next step is to buy a polisher and fix the swirls on my older car. Natch02, I'm in Austin.
  16. So after I got my Chevy in January I decided I was going to use better products to care for this car and our other cars. I found out Adams was recommended by GM and some forum members on the Chevy site really liked their stuff. I've always been an "over the counter" car care guy and did some research and found out not all products are created equal. I been lurking on here for a while and have learned a lot (like cleaning the barrel of the wheels and not using silicon based dressings). I've been buying more and more Adams stuff as I go and have pretty much all my bases covered. Im on my 4th order of products and have thrown out all my store bought junk. Needless to say Ive been highly impressed with Adams complete line up. Just finished my 4th detail yesterday and the wax is holding strong since February. The truck has a 2/3 drop and I plasti dipped the front and rear bumpers along with the grille, grille insert, and chrome headlight trim.
