  1. Like many posters, I will pre-wash heavily soiled then put them in together. My wife decides when a towel is "retired"; she owns the laundry room and all machinery and processes therein. She uses the revitalizer on my behalf; I just keep it stocked in the aforementioned laundry room. I have five clear plastic bins for towels/applicators. Okay for painted surfaces, not okay for painted surfaces, wax/polish only, rags, applicators. I only use foam applicators once then toss. I use Costco MFs on door jambs, interior, inside kick panels, under the hood and trunk lid, inside the gas tank filler, etc. I also have a number of MFs I got in Korea when we lived there recently. If those guys didn't invent the MF towel they perfected it. In fact I think Adams sources some of their MF from Korea...good call. Don't make a special trip but if you are ever in Korea stop in to an E-mart - every imaginable type of MF all laid out in front of you. Didn't make up for everything else but it sure helped!
  2. I may be missing something fellas, but it was my impression from the product videos and elsewhere in the forums that the sealants with G&G is a replacement for the waxes, and appropriate for daily drivers. The waxes are optimized for show cars or weekend drivers. For both my wife's Mercedes and my Ram DDs, I strip wash, clay, use a hand polish if necessary, brilliant glaze, LPS, and G&G with a re-app of G&G every 3-4 washes depending on beading. I do this more often for my wife's car because she always parks inside and my truck is outside more. I was a buttery wax guy before that just because of ease of application. My buddy used Americana on his 'vette. Took more time but he liked the results.
  3. My question regarding spray nozzles is on a bit of a different tack. Every time I order 16 ounce refills, I get a nozzle for each bottle. With only a couple of exceptions over the years, I have never needed one. However, there is no click box on the web site that allows us to delete the nozzle if we don't need it. I could donate them to Goodwill I suppose, but I have a 5-gallon rubbermaid tub filled with these things and I will never use them all. Every time I open a box from Adams, I scoop up the nozzles and stuff them into the rubbermaid tub. Have you guys ever considered a "delete the nozzle" option at ordering? Maybe throw in an extra sticker or a few more mints if we elect to delete. You know, the old "press the button, get a pellet" monkey training thing? Incidentally, the only nozzle I have ever had fail is the pump one in the car wash shampoo bottle I use to fill the foam gun, etc. the tube inside broke off about half way up and I have to keep the bottle at least half full or it won't pump. Otherwise, the nozzles are bulletproof.
  4. I do the same thing with my wife's Benz. I watch the service advisor type "do not wash" in all caps on the tablet when I take it in. It's worked so far. I don't bother at the Ram dealer for my truck. If I mentioned anything to do with a wash to those guys they would look at me like I was from another planet anyway.
  5. This may constitute blasphemy, but I get my buckets at Lowe's for three bucks each. Same capacity, grit guard fits, water stays in, etc. I love Adams products and have a garage full of them, but a 5 gallon plastic bucket is a commodity...right?
  6. When I had my black on black corvette in Hawaii, I had blackout tail lights and got stopped by the police on my way to a cruise night. The only thing that saved me from a ticket was he was a car guy too and I promised to put the OEMs back on. Which I did of course, but then put the blackouts back on for shows and stuff. The things we go through...
  7. I have a Rubbermaid tub full of extras too, but I use a lot of them on other bottles like dilutions and other household chemicals that come with just a twist-off cap.
  8. I'm curious to see what may come from Korea, besides microfiber towels. I have lived in Korea five times since '87, and every time, I saw a steady and significant uptick in their sophistication regarding car care products. Cars constitute a much bigger share of the typical Korean's income than they do ours, so they really want to keep them nice. I saw a lot of car care products and accessories for sale at the big boxes like e-Mart and HomePlus but couldn't read the blasted labels. Microfiber of every description and plushness, but those guys got in way early on microfiber.
  9. Comforting to know I am not alone...like I needed the reassurance. So, I showed the hang tag image to my wife (thanks for the link Seth) and all she said was if I use it, to take a sharpie pen and write "Please" above the "Do not". Thanks, honey, I'll make a note of it. Seriously, if Adams offered those things on card stock or laminated, I would buy them.
  10. Today was "Service B" for my wife's Mercedes. Pull into the dealership, greeter confirms the appointment, then inside to meet the service advisor. Our dealer offers a pretty decent free car wash (for the uninitiated) with interior vacuum and tire dressing too, whenever you want one, to include when you take it in for service of course. Naturally, I have to make it a point to ask the service advisor to not, repeat not, wash the car after the service. He looks at me like I'm out of my mind, and tells me: "...sir, our automatic car wash is state of the art. We wash S600 sedans and G-Wagons with it, and the owners are delighted. Why wouldn't you want us to wash your car for you?" I reply: "...the free car wash is a terrific thing you guys do, and I appreciate the offer. However, that car has never seen the inside of an automatic car wash in it's four year life. For me, detailing is therapy, and I use premium products from an outfit called Adams." Service advisor says okay no problem, and puts "NO CAR WASH" on the service ticket. When we walk out to the car together so he can put the service ticket on the dash, he stops ten feet short of the car, looks at it, says "oh", does a five-Mississippi, and says "oh" again. Then, "...okay sir, now I understand. The last thing that car needs is a wash." So, my wife and neighbors think I'm OCD, and we can never let the church youth group wash either of our vehicles at their fund raisers (we just give them the money and tell them to stay back). On days I'm expecting an Adams delivery, I hang out near the front door like my dog does when he's waiting for me to come home. The best part is, every bit of it is 100% worth it. Thank you Adams -- if you didn't do what you do, I would probably be a golfer, addicted to romantic comedies, or spend my time clipping coupons or something. Instead, I get to hang out in the garage and see tangible results of my hard work.
  11. Even with a solution like RaceDesk or modutile, you guys don't just lay that over bare concrete, do you? It is so porous that if you don't coat it with something, everything that drips through the deck or the tiles is going to soak in and stain the concrete...
  12. Thanks guys. I think I will try the PCP. Seems to do the same thing a cleaning wax does and if it is Adams then I trust it.
  13. I was in the same situation, new build house and wanted something that would prevent the chalking and dust and look better than bare concrete. I did it myself with Valspar kits from Lowes for a total cost of around $300 -- normal dimension 2 1/2 car garage. Total process took about 4 days from etch, to application, to allowing enough dry time to put vehicles on it. It was a lot of work but I saved a lot of scratch too. I don't have a quarrel with anyone who wants the decking, it looks terrific. I live in Texas so there is no snow, slush, etc, to get underfoot. My floor is super easy to sweep clean. I mop as needed with diluted APC and it looks like new.
  14. I have had multiple windshields replaced, all but one by Safelite, including my wife's Mercedes when it was just three weeks old. Complicated with all the sensors and stuff but they did a great job including getting the replacement interior decal with Karl Benz' signature on it. Safelite can do OEM glass regardless of mfr, but your insurance company may not spring for it. Just like OEM body panels. Talk to the adjustor and the glass guy. If it's a priority for you, you may have to go out of pocket a bit for OEM. On the dash cam I'm with you. I lived in Korea for a few years and almost every American had one. If you got in an accident you were automatically at fault as a foreigner unless you had the video evidence. The only thing that bothers me about any of those windshield mounted gizmos is that you either have a bunch of 12 volt wires laying around or you have to let the shop rip up your interior to hardwire them. Many of the Korean cars had the power takeoffs and highway toll RFID holders built right into the rear view mirror. No muss, no fuss. Good luck with your claim. Sucky situation but you will make it right.
  15. I have a 2014 Ram 1500. Never been through a car wash, all hand wash and only with Adams products using two bucket method, etc. My windshield has numerous small light scratches. I can't catch a fingernail on them, can't figure out how they got there, they follow no pattern, but no matter. There they are and they are driving me nuts. Now, how can I get them out without replacing the windshield? I saw a couple of YouTube videos on using cleaning wax with an orbital polisher but I'm skeptical. has anyone on the forums dealt with this and if so, how? I'm all ears. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Dave
  16. Been using Adams for several years. Started in Korea on my wife's Benz, and added my Ram 1500 after we moved to TX. Quality, compatibility, and ease of use makes the job easier.
