  1. I like the big square block, but they are not available anymore, so I go to Target and get their generic foam tire applicator and remove it from the plastic handle. It work great and washable.
  2. I see your from Keymar, I grew up in Taneytown. Its always good to see another Marylander!
  3. I dont know if this is the problem, but if it is at least theres a fix. This customer was also having alot of electrical problems at his home. I will continue to use my cord and monitor the brushes.
  4. I was polishing two cars today (pics tomorrow) and noticed that my polisher was becoming sluggish and started to hesitate. My D.A. is a PC but has a different brand name on it. On the second car it just stopped! Luckily I was almost finished. I checked everything but it would not turn on. Here was my fix. After I got home I took the DA apart. I have a pretty good knowledge of electric motors so this was pretty simple. Now I don't know the cause of this but is could be a power cable issue that Junkman is always talking of. Step 1. remove the armature from its housing. Look at the armature it should be bright and shiny as you can see this one is not. Now keep in mind this was not working at all. The black you see is the dirt build up from the brushes. All electric motors have a positive and negative brush. Here is a pic of a dirty brush its a little blurry Step 2. Get some electric motor cleaner. This is some stuff I got from a hobby store when I used to race R/C cars Clean all the electric motor parts. (armature, windings, and brushes) Step 3. get some sandpaper. I used 400grit but you dont need anything this heavy. Its all I had lying around. Clean the copper part of the armature. Just wrap the sandpaper around the armature and just spin it until its clean. Dont push to hard it will only take about 6-7 turns. Step 4. take your sand paper and knock off the carbon from the brushes. Step 5. reassemble. If you have any screws left do not turn on the polisher. Do not turn on the polisher until it is fully assembled. You will find not only will it work but it will have more power. I noticed one of my brushes is a little worn and will probably need to replaced. If you do not feel comfortable doing this, then dont.
  5. That looks great. I am finally going to use my APW tomorrow!
  6. I love VRT I just called my local dealer to see if he has a gallon. I go through it like crazy. Nice rig!
  7. I used the leather conditioner on a dirty Lexus today (and yes I cleaned it first). It worked great.
  8. I didn't realize how much the proper cord makes a difference.
  9. Mine still has not been shipped yet I hope I'm in the next batch
  10. Sometimes you have to except that deep scratches are a lost cause. Like I tell people I detail for "when I polish I'm taking a micro layer of paint (clear) off, but I cant put it back on. I dont want to do more damage to their vehicles. I can point out to them what will come out and what wont. I dont want to pay for a paint job! The Jeep Cherokee in my thread under trucks has key marks on the hood. One trick you can do to help mask a scratch is to take some compound and rub in the direction of the scratch and then polish. This reflects the light in a different way. In the pics you cant see the scratch unless (they are still there) you right on top. These were very deep.
  11. WOW Adam you have alot of pouring to do if you want some for the car shows this summer! Once people hear how good this wax is you should have a good summer.
  12. Good call, I have heard that also!
  13. Hey junkman, I used your tip from one of your vids. Place a black mark on the backing plate so you can see what the polisher is doing. I have to say it works great. I can see the spin and tell if I'm placing too much pressure. :pc:Thanks.
  14. Nice pics..almost too nice you can see the dirt on some of those cars. I would never show my truck with dirty wheels and tires! I have to say that black vette looks great in the sunshine
  15. Elbow grease usually does the job for me. I find once you wet most of the dead guts they soften up can come off with a little scrubbing acting.
