  1. anyone have experience with any of the various clear coat pens on the market? Supposed to be for filling larger/deeper scratches that are more than swirl marks. Just curious how well these products work if you would put it on then polish it with correcting polish.
  2. I think it depends on the car and steering wheel. My truck steering wheel takes the LCON better than my wife's car. So her car I stick to TID. The truck I use LCON and just buff it/wipe it down after a bit to knock down the shine and greasiness.
  3. Leather Con is great. like VRT for your interior. I too still use the TID for weekly wipe down of the interior. I keep a bottle in the truck with a couple small interior micro fibers.
  4. Fellow civil engineer here. Highway design/construction and most currently traffic operations and signing. So glad to have that PE exam behind me????
  5. I too love G&G. great for winter to use after a rinseless wash to keep the water beading on the paint.
  6. This is exactly how I do it. I liked VRT but not how quickly it would fade. By using this method with the Tire Shine, I get nearly the same matte dark look with much more longevity. I bought a gallon of the Shine but after doing my tires like this I think that was a mistake as it is gonna last me a LONG time. I still love VRT for my trim, rubber, engine bay though. Its a great product and when mixed 50/50 with distilled water makes a nice sprayable dressing for the engine bay if you don't have In/Out Spray
  7. what about using a rinseless dilution in place of detail spray while drying? would this work as a more cost effective option for those (like me ) on a tighter budget? like a 32:1 or something like that?
  8. Congrats on the New Tacoma. Got my Black 2016 Off Road on Jan 1st and I love it.
  9. I too have had great experience with Adams Customer service. Very helpful and easily accessible. Also as others have said, its one reason I am an adams user. Tried the other "Guys" and no way near the commitment to there customers. Between phone email and live chat as well as this forum. Adams CS is top notch.
  10. I too just used the blue on a brand new vehicle. Not a ton of stuff to remove but I didn't like the way it was working. In fact I felt it wasn't absorbing any grit but rather pushing it around. It seemed far to stiff to me. Maybe it was the colder temperatures?
  11. Thanks for all the suggestions. store I stopped at was out of the icons in sizes for my wifes corolla so I went with Trico Ice for winter. ill be guying the Icons for my truck and see how they compare. Sounds like the Icon is the way to go.
  12. Time for new blades on my daily driver. I like to replace just before the snow flies here in WI, which has yet to happen. What are some good options especially for cold snowy weather?
  13. Revive - wipe residue Paint Sealant - buff residue Buttery Wax I have not topped Paint sealant with Buttery yet so not sure if you need to wait a certain amount of time before waxing or not. You can go ahead with your Liquid paint sealant as soon as you buff off the revive residue.

  15. I'm no pro but I've never quite understood doing the Baggie test. I mean I know it instantly shows you or allows you to feel how rough the paint is but it goes against all the other discussions on this forum over never touching the paint with anything other than quality microfiber towels
  16. I have the WD 1680 - 16gal. if I was just going to use it for cars I would have gotten the WD4080- 4gal vac because it has a smaller size but same 6hp blower motor. I absolutely love the blower attachment. blow off the engine and wheels. attach a hose and small crevice tool to blow out the mirrors and door jambs. works great. and because the blower detaches from the vac canister, there is much less chance of sucking dirt into the blower and shooting onto your paint.
  17. I second your good experience with Ridgid. in fact I have many ridgid tools which are perfect combination of quality and price for the DIY home owner. I have the Ridgid vac with the detachable leaf blower. that option works great to use to blow off my engine and wheels/wells after a wash. The pro hose auto kit is great. Smaller more flexible durable hose and attachments make getting into the small areas of the vehicle much easier. I think the Ridgid offers great value for the money.
  18. http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-Stor-N-Go-5-Gal-Wet-Dry-Vacuum-WD5500/100377372 I do not have this model but have 2 other ridgid shop vacs and really like them. $100 list price gives you $50 more to get hose extensions or attachments. http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-Premium-Car-Cleaning-Kit-VT2534/100638355 I have the above hose kit for my vacs and love it for car cleaning.
  19. I believe this photo was from SEMA 2015 so probably not quite out for distribution yet.
  20. ive toyed with the idea of cutting one and modifying it to be similar to what the above photo shows. but looks like grit guard was already thinking about it. I will definitely be purchasing one of these when they are ready for purchase.
  21. I saw this product discussed on another forum and was curious when Adams (being grit guard supporters/sellers) would be able to start selling this? I love this idea and will make it much easier to scrub the wash pad in the rinse bucket.
