  1. Here in Central Ohio, we had a rare day or two about 10 days ago where it was dry and in the 60s. I took advantage to detail both of our vehicles using every Adam's product I currently own and loved every minute of it, let alone the results. My wife and I commute to and from work together and our poor daily driver has been tortured with the dirt and salt that all of us in Winter climates typically experience. My truck however, has not been moved from the garage since the above-mentioned detailing and has made me happy every time I go into the garage, seeing my truck proudly displaying the Adam's shine that we all know and love. I have to work on the holiday tomorrow but my wife's office is closed. Naturally they're predicting several inches of snow by morning and as I'll have to drive my truck tomorrow I thought I'd drive it around today in the bright sun and dry roads to at least enjoy some of the shine before it gets "trashed" tomorrow. We went out for lunch and she asked to stop at a local shopping center. I proudly parked my clean and shiny truck in a space that, at the time, had no cars on either side. When we came back out about 30 minutes later I was surround by other vehicles that were all covered with the typical layer of dirt and salt. Of course my vehicle was the ONLY one that was bombed by a bird. All the other vehicles parked around me encased in a protective layer of salt, were bird bomb free. Murphy's Law, right? Happily the truck has so many layers of wax and gloss & guard on it that a little detail spray was all it took to de-bomb the truck and return the shine to which we're all so addicted, at least until tomorrow. I had to chuckle that during the drive home, part of the bird bomb slowly slid back the hood on top of the several layers of wax eventually resting on the inside lip of the hood near the windshield wipers. This bird dirt was no match for the awesome Adam's product line. Happy detailing everyone!
  2. Wow that is one beautiful Mustang! I'd almost be scared to drive such a rolling work of art fearing all the knuckleheads with their heads looking down at their cellphones instead of paying attention to the road. I'll absolutely show him, thanks much for sharing!
  3. Go for it Jimmy! I'd love to see the results. My father-in-law is in his 80s and has been a lifelong Ford man including restoring several classic Fords from the 50s and 60s - Mustangs, glasstops, etc. After owning several new Grand Marquis, he found a 2013 Fusion just like yours with only 13K miles. I promised him a FULL Adam's treatment in the Spring so I'm anxious to see what yours looks like after some Adam's love.
  4. Thanks for all the comments! There are many people on here that are a lot more brave when it comes to cold weather washing. If my goal of moving to Southwest Florida ever materializes I'll be able to detail cars full time. And Chris, YES on the detail spray, especially the free bottle of Pumpkin Spice I received with a recent order. Just right for this time of year!
  5. Here in Central Ohio we fared much better this past weekend than did all of our friends up and down the East Coast. We barely had an inch of snow and I can't even say I had to shovel, more like just scooting the snow off of the driveway. For the past week our roads have been the typical sloppy, slushy, dirty that most of us deal with all Winter. My wife's car which we commute in every day was the dirtiest it's ever been in the short month that she's owned it. The wheels were so black with dirt and salt that you could barely differentiate the wheels from the tires. I put up with it all last week while our temperatures barely made it out of the single digits but tonight on the way home from work I noticed the temperature was a balmy 44 degrees. I knew I would lose the last of the daylight fairly quickly but I decided to go ahead and give the car a quick detail. I envy all those who have weatherproof faucets/hoses inside their garages but I went ahead and dug a hose out of storage and reconnected it to the outside faucet. I'm sure my neighbors thought I'd finally gone round the bend but I didn't care. I happily cleaned the wheels and tires first before moving on to wash the rest of the vehicle, thank goodness for my Adam's bucket and grit guard. I'm sure the temperature dipped into the upper 30s once the sun went down but it felt fairly pleasant outside. I quickly pulled it back into the garage and hit it with another coat of Gloss & Guard, what an awesome product! I then used various microfiber cloths to dry the rest of the vehicle before applying the tire shine, cleaning the windows and hitting the interior with the interior detailer. Here's a few quick pics of the finished results (hard to get a decent shot inside the garage). Hopefully soon I'll find time to give me Ridgeline some love. After all this rambling my question is, how cold is too cold for you to indulge your sickness? I guess my limit would be anything below freezing. Thanks for reading!
  6. Beautiful car and what a great 18th birthday present. I want those exact wheels to put on my Ridgeline. I've seen a few with the 5 spoke Camaro wheels and I like the look much better than the factory wheels.
  7. When I bought my first Honda Ridgeline a few years back, I stumbled across the Ridgeline owner's forum and spent a lot of time reading posts from a guy who's screen name is SUKE. He had very detailed threads showing his detailing efforts on several different automobiles. When asked what products he uses, naturally he said he used the Adam's line. I bought a few products at the beginning of this year and just placed two larger orders last week. I was happy to see that SUKE also posts to this forum too. So thanks to SUKE, everyone at Adam's, and everyone who posts on this forum.
  8. Thanks to El Nino and the mid-70s temperatures we've enjoyed here in Columbus, Ohio this weekend I was able to give my wife's new wheels a good bath, followed by Brilliant Glaze, and then a coat of Buttery Wax. It's disappointing that a brand new car seemed to have no paint protection/no water beading, etc. Naturally I was very happy with the performance of the Adam's products, but it kills me that I've got two large orders of new Adam's products which will, with my luck, arrive tomorrow when our temperatures are supposed to plummet and the typical December is scheduled to return. I'm excited about my new products as I ordered a little bit of everything so I'll be ready when the weather turns warm enough to indulge my passion. I'll attach a few pics but there is absolutely no sunshine today so my cellphone camera doesn't capture the true shine.
  9. Hey Zach - - Do you have any room in the looney bin? I've placed 2 orders in 3 days for almost $400! Originally I only had a few products (Clay bar, Brilliant Glaze, Buttery Wax, and Detail Spray). Two days ago I placed a large order and thought I'd be set but then I kept reading the forums and watching the videos and realized there were some additional items I just "had to have"! I was going to be strong and be happy with my original order but when I saw the 15% promotion when I logged in tonight I couldn't resist. I'm going to be very happy when the boxes arrive at my office next week. I think I'll lock myself in a conference room with all my loot and take some pictures to add to the Unboxing the Shine thread. Now I have to work on creating a cleaning cart! The madness continues . . .
  10. Thanks again for all the kind comments and welcomes! Dan, I like the Obsidian Blue but I owned a 2008 Ridgeline in Deep Cherry Pearl which is by far my preference. When I ordered the 2014 truck, Honda still offered Deep Cherry Pearl but the only interior leather option was solid black - everything was a monotone black (seats, dash, carpet, etc.) and I didn't care for the look. Additionally we have 2 rescued greyhounds that we haul around quite a bit so the black interior would've been even more of a challenge. We discovered that the dogs have more room in my wife's CR-V so hopefully my truck will be a dog hair free zone from now on!
  11. Thank you all for the nice welcome and quick informative responses! I really love the mirror finish the products haven given my truck. My wife's Honda has much more metal flake in the paint and I love that the same Adams products can produce two different but high-quality results. I look forward to learning a lot from this forum. Thanks again!
  12. Hello - - I first ordered several products from the Adam's Polishes line last year on advice from a professional detailer on another forum. I detailed cars while in high school and college using standard over-the-counter products but have very pleased with the Adam's products I've purchased including the clay bar, detail spray, buttery wax and brilliant glaze. I'm going to search the forum to see the recommended order in which to use the buttery way and brilliant glaze. On a car we just traded in I used the wax first and then the glaze and although I was very happy with the results I'm not sure the order was correct so I'd appreciate any feedback. I drive a 2014 Honda Ridgeline RTL in Obsidian Blue Metallic and my wife just purchased a new 2015 Honda CR-V in Mountain Air Metallic. I look forward to learning more about the entire product line. Thanks! Rob
