Wow, looks great. I'd hate to have to change the rear 3 spark plugs on that thing, though!
i think the rear 3 are under the intake. probably not too bad to change!

My .02 is just get some winter wheels....

ive actually used these foam blocks all the time! my brother got some foam squares with an order from somewhere and he asked me if i wanted them. they are about 3x3x1. works PERFECT for getting VRT in my vents and behind door handles. They are actually the perfect size to put a small dab of VRT on the edge and run a nice smooth glaze on my window trim without even touching my windows  i like using these because they absorb the VRT a little bit and also are very flexible so i can the block in places the VRT applicator pad just cant!

Correct, and correct! :cheers:When you dry the car with the MF Waffle Drying towel, it will be perfect.
You let the Waterless Wash sit on the bugs to loosen them, while you complete the rest of the vehicle.
Last, come back and remove them, and they will just fall off in the towel!
Thanks!
cool! what if the DS drys on the car...

Great thread! So, here is the somewhat EXTREME way to the most damage-free wash:
(Before I begin, please note: I don't do this. Rather, I detail my vehicles twice each year, and Paste Wax monthly to keep our vehicles looking great.)
Scratch minimizing washing:
- Blow debris off the car with an air compressor, leaf blower, vacuum exhaust, etc. Pay special attention to the rear of the vehicle, and anywhere dirt can set.
- Slowly rinse the vehicle with a 2,000 psi power washer. (Think coin-op wash if you don't have a PW.)
- Foam the entire vehicle down with a Foam Gun, and our PH neutral, super sudsy Car Shampoo.
- Fill a bucket with 2oz of our Car Shampoo, and a new wash pad.
- Using an older wash pad can scratch, especially if it has developed little dreadlocks. Typical Adam's Premium Wash Pad lifespan: 15-20 washes. After that, make it a wheel, engine, and wheel well wash pad. (3 wash pads per year is a small investment to make in keeping your finish perfect.)
- Spray water into the bucket to create lots of suds.
- Rinse again.
- Spray a fine mist of our Detail Spray over the entire vehicle.
- Use the compressor, vacuum, leaf blower, etc, to remove the majority of water from the cracks, crevices, emblems, moldings, mirrors, etc.
- Using our Waffle MF Drying towels, start high, and finish drying the vehicle.
I could go on, and on, and on. . . . . . . .
so dont wipe the DS off?
By the time you rinse again, then dry the car, there will likely be some very fine scratches, it's just about unavoidable.Washing with the Waterless Wash is safe, as that's almost all I use on our and on a vehicle that has not been driven in rain, mud, snow, etc, you will find that the potential for scratches is only slightly higher.
My Waterless Wash technique. (This is my exclusive, in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.)
- Go to the coin wash, hit the wheels, tires, and wheel wells with our Green Wheel Cleaner.
- Blast them with the pressure washer.
- Spray the bugs with Waterless Wash, and don't wipe.
- Spray and wipe the remainder of the vehicle with the Waterless Wash.
-
VRT the trim, rubber, and tires.
- Drive happy and shining!
dont wipe the WW off with the bugs?
- Blow debris off the car with an air compressor, leaf blower, vacuum exhaust, etc. Pay special attention to the rear of the vehicle, and anywhere dirt can set.
-
i feel like WW is unsafe. i just cant bring myself to rub a nice clean Adam's towel across my paint, wiping away dirt... i cant imagine what is worse, wiping dust or dirt with an Adam's MF or Wiping dirt off my paint?

Hmm, on the plastic piece coming off, using the handle fixes that quick! Even if you don't use it, like AJ says, putting a bolt in the hole will keep it on.
As for the wobbling of the Gen1 pads, let's get you setup with the Gen2 pads and the problem will die. Email me your info, and we'll work an arrangement that you can live with.
Thanks!

Ideas on which issue?
why my pads wobble? i dont have packing plates. they clip into the PC
-
The old PC's (7424) could be used without the handle and the black piece would stay on. The new PC's (7424XP) are different. The black piece pops right off if you hit or lean on it just right. If you put a replacement bolt into the hole, that will eliminate this problem.
It seems that all of the backing plates have a tad bit of wobble to them so this is common. If your PC doesn't vibrate excessively, don't worry about the counter-weight. Your setup is just fine without a need to change it.
i dont have backing plates, i have the GEN1 pads i think that clip into the PC using the adapter. any ideas??
-
i think junkman said he had that problem or it is a common thing
which problem??
-
has anyone had any trouble keeping the plastic cover to stay on the head of the PC. My 7424XP's black cover keeps popping off...
And also. for some odd reason my PC i think is bent... when i spin the pad it seems to wobble. i have the Gen1 pads with an Edge2k Adapter. its seated all the way in. It appears the adapter is crooked but also threaded on correctly. and yes i do have the washer on.
and also how bad is it to run 6" pads with a 5" Counter-Weight???
