I was just joking around about the smoke blowing stock. What all is done to it?
eh shes got BD injectors, Intake/Exhaust (obv), #10 Fuel Plate, Southbend 3600 Dual Disk Clutch, Airdog Fuel System, some other doo-dads not really sure.
-
Don't 12v blow smoke like that stock?
What trick is this?
eh not really, they dont really blow any smoke stock. and clean palette as in clean surface on the truck
-
Very nice job!
Question:
Judging by the smoke Did you chip out the Diesel for more HP and torque?
lol thats funny. i guess you can say its got a little more than a chip.
-
So the clean palette did the trick?
sure did!

Yes, but did you strip everything off the car before you tried all the stuff you tried yesterday?
Fresh palette. Live and learn!
ive tried the wax on a fresh palette every time other than this time. its done it on my cars and another truck also..
-
The problem is most likely all the stuff you have on the paint presently. I would strip everything off the paint and start with a fresh palette. Since you've had issues before, there's no telling what is sitting on top of your paint. A good washing with Dawn dish washing liquid should strip whatever is on the car presently and give you the opportunity to apply the products with what you have learned. I bet your issues will disappear, unless you make the same mistakes that you were making previously.
ive claybarred atleast twice since ive gotten my adams stuff??

So I met up with Jordan this afternoon to see how we could fix his wax situation. I showed him my techniques for the whole process to try and find out where he was running into problems:
First he showed me how the wax wouldn't apply evenly, in that it would leave areas of the paint looking as if no wax had been put on at all. I found the cause to be how the wax was put onto the applicator pad. If any part of the pad is dry, the dry part will actually wipe the wax away as you are trying to apply it to the car. Rubbing the pad together after squirting wax onto it helps spread it evenly over the pad surface so this won't happen. You want the pad to feel damp, and as it gets more damp, you can squirt less and less wax onto the pad to complete the entire vehicle.
We waited about 10-15 minutes, it was cool and not very humid, and went to wipe the residue from his truck. I was able to see his second and third problems: it did require a slight bit of pressure to remove, and once it was removed, areas of the paint looked noticeably darker, and more pressure was required to remove those marks.
We tried to isolate what the cause might be. Since he has the newer towels and pads, we each tried various combinations of each others towels, applicator pads, and bottles of wax, on each others cars. We figured mixing and matching each others stuff would have helped narrow it down....but that idea betrayed us.
The wax applied and wiped cleanly from my car with both apps and towels, but we chalked that up to the insane amount of Adam's waxes that are already on my car . I was able to remove the wax residue from his truck much easier with my towel, and it didn't leave behind the marks he was seeing before.
I tried a few different areas of his truck with my towel and was again able to remove the wax with no marks left over. So that would mean he could have a bad towel...but it worked fine to remove the wax from my car. Part of the problem might have been his technique but hopefully the pointers I gave him will make his waxing easier.
Bill, Adam said something about my raise coming out of your check?
couldnt have been stated any better. im just stumped as to why my rags will take the wax off Gerry's car and not MINE, MY OTHER TRUCK, nor a 2007 Dodge Ram!! adam please chime in and give me your advice?!

I'm about an hour away and free all this week. We could meet halfway, maybe somewhere in Norwalk?
that would actually be awesome, i go to Norwalk all the time! whens good for you?
-
Don't worry about it, people get offended all the time on the internet, they'll get over it :D:D
Now lets get back to your problem. I've never heard of anyone having a problem with getting Buttery Wax off before. Do you know of any other members close to you ?
nope im the only person that i know of in my area/that ive personally met that have used Adam's. I dont understand why im having such a cruddy time with this wax. i MUST be doing something wrong...
-
How far are you from Carlisle ? Or from Frank in New Jersey ?
4 & 1/2 from Carlisle. i might be going to the ATN's next month. but the guys over at FSC.com seem to be offended by me after someone left a cruddy comment about my comment. soo idk

Where do you live Jordan ?
New York
HOw long have you had this. Did it stay in over heated or cold tempatures to make it separate. Call ashly she will make it right. maybe you got a bad batch.its not even a month old...
-
i did another detail. used Buttery Wax on the whole truck and waited probably about 30 mins- 1 hour before it came off. and STILL left marks. i had to use DS to get most of them out. i give up on it. im never using it ever again. very unsatisfied..
-
What do you mean by "a dime-sized drop with some DS" ?
i only used about a dime-sized drop of BW, but i also sprayed the pad with DS to make it a little easier
What was the temp when you were doing it ? Was it humid ? It will wipe off like a fine layer of dust if cured. Do the other half of the hood and wait a half an hour this time. Then just test a small spot with your finger to see if it is cured.the temperature was maybe 70* out not even, humidity wasnt that high, the hood was cool to touch(not hot)
The BW seemed to haze up, but it didnt seem to powder up. When i glided my MF over the haze it didnt come right off. Should i have waited longer?
-
ok well i tried doing a coat of wax on half my hood of the SS. i only used about a dime-sized drop with some DS and did half of my hood. let it dry for ehhh id say 15 mins(went to the store) came back. and i STILL needed DS to get the old residue off...

great looking truck. how do you like those tires and how are they wearing for you?
the tires are amazing, rims eh not so much. the tires have about 15,000 on them and still have plenty of meat left. They are AWESOME in the snow/mud/rain. i havnt had any problems with traction what-so-ever with these tires! they are also a little loud on the road after they are wore in.
