  1. About to Ceramic Coat the paint and trim on the wife's Yukon. Anyone ever put the coating on side steps? Concerned if they may become too slick causing a safety concern.
  2. Fort Wayne is only about 45 minutes from me. Congrats!
  3. I called Adams during the middle of all of this. I wouldn't have been able to receive a replacement one in time to finish the customer's vehicle. I told Dan that I would try to fix it before exchanging it, which he completely understood. Luckily I was able to get it going again. May need to buy a 2nd as a back up, or teach the wife how to correct to cut down on times lol.
  4. Ended up being the power cord. As I wiggled it, it would cut out. Cut about a foot of wire off and reconnected...works great now. Guessing it was pinched somewhere.
  5. In the middle of a customer's car. My SK just stopped working. If I turn it upside down (pad up) it works. If it's pad down it won't turn on. Anyone else experience this? Quick responses appreciated!
  6. Great results man! I will have to test this out this winter. I will be sure to do a write up/review.
  7. Hey guys need some input... Just bought my very first boat, 2000 Bayliner Capri 1950. Its all white, and the paint is slightly faded with minor scratches and swirls in the gel coat. I am wondering if I can take my SK to the gel coat to polish up paint. What products can I use, what products do I need to stay away from, and any special methods? Thanks in advance.
  8. I spray the tire shine directly onto the hex applicator then apply it to the tire with the applicator. Gives it a nice even coat, without slinging issues.
  9. Why don't you go with a pump pressure sprayer. Similar to the Colad one that Adams offers? I've contemplated on switching over to a few of those for my main chemicals I use a lot of.
  10. 2000 psi and 2.8 gpm. I had a small electric one that was 1600 psi and 1.2 gpm and it lasted a tad bit longer.
  11. I put 4oz of shampoo in mine and have the dial turned all the way to negative. And I can barely get a full car covered before it's empty. I also see these videos online where the whole car is covered and maybe only a 1/3 of their canister is emptied. If I turn mine positive at all is gets super watery. These guys are getting nice thick foam and have enough for multiple cars. Am I missing out on something here?
  12. Could we also please get Strip Wash in a gallon? I use it a lot on customer vehicles, and with it only being offered in a 16 oz bottle, it can be costly.
  13. Just watched Adams Headlight Restoration video and noticed this gem hiding on the back wall. Anyone at Adams or on here know where I can get one? I would love to have these in my shop.
  14. Welcome fellow Ohioan...Coldwater here...
  15. Welcome fellow Ohioan! I am currently in the market for an S4 also.
  16. The cherry has a very strong scent to it. Smells like cherry cough syrup almost. I was very concerned when I first opened it up. So I only cracked open the clear packaging and placed it under my seat for fear of the smell being too strong if I left it hanging up out in the open. I got in my car and to my surprise it wasn't a very strong scent at all. I could almost not smell it, so this morning I took it out of the packaging and moved it to the center counsel cubby that is on the floor and open to the cabin. The car has been sitting closed up and 80*+ so we will see how it smells after work.
  17. Yesterday Adams released a new video almost 20 minutes on wheel detailing. It was specific and showed how to properly clean and treat the wheels. Many of Adams "How To" videos are outdated. As someone who has only been a customer in the last year or so, I was glad to finally see a refreshed "How To with some newer products. I wouldn't mind seeing Adams come out with newer updated videos like this. I understand these videos take a lot of time to produce but I feel it would be a great learning tool for some of the new people. I made a list of some more videos I wouldn't seeing updated or created. Let me know your thoughts or what you would like to see. - In-depth on paint correction - Engine bay detailing - Ceramic Coating - Basic 2 bucket wash - Pad care - Mixing Ratios - Drying techniques Again some of these exist and some are simple but would be good for newbies.
  18. I made the same mistake first time ever using it. 3 seconds after starting I realized something just didnt feel right...
  19. Don't move the vehicle until you have completely removed the hose slides.....
  20. I live north of Dayton about an hour! I hadn't tried to remove them yet. In the past, claying worked the best, so I wanted to confirm before I tried. I ended up using the method you guys suggested and it worked like a charm. Love this coating stuff!
  21. Anyone experience negative results using clay on a coated surface? Hit a patch of bugs last night and wanted to know if it would cause any harm.
