Some new tires look like that, I think it is dried release agent, to get tires out of the mold.

Lifted trucks are the worst to work on, just try doing under hood work.did a neighbors FX4, wasn't the super cab but it still sucked. His is raised too which make detailing it suck even more, it was almost impossible for me to do the window lol. Don't think you could pay me enough to clay and correct one of these, no way Jose.

Placed an order on Valentine's day, fingers crossed I get one. Thanks for thinking of us! Adam's forum has some of the best poeple. So, long story short, I know a guy who knows a guy, who hooked me up with some of the Valentine's Day stickers!
Since a few forum members posted about placing an order during the Valentine's Day sale and did not get a sticker, I am going to give away ten of these lovely stickers.
If you placed an order during the sale and did not get a sticker, just post a reply in this thread to get one of these!
UPDATE: Got the new white boarder sticker

Brake fluid flush, good job, I'm impressed. Usually here in the rust belt, bleeders get rusty and people don't want to deal with brake flushes. At least I don't have much luck selling them at work.Changed the oil and rotated the tires on my DD. While I was at it, I changed the brake fluid too.

I think AC Delco only offers 1 grade of filter. The Wix is a way better choice than the Super Tech!!! It seems you have a very good maintenance schedule, so I wouldn't think you would have too many internal engine issues no matter what oil and filter you choose. IMO most failures are from lack of maintenance.

Thanks for the info. I have 2, so I'll try hand wash 1 and machine 1. And foam I'll hand wash.

Thanks, am doing some towels tonight, just wondering if I should have tossed it in the washer.Take your applicator pad to the kitchen sink and use some APC on it and clean it like your other pads. Not in the washing machine. Rinse it out real good and let it air dry.

Valentine's hearts? How sweet????

Can an applicator used for glass sealant be cleaned/washed? I have both APC and micofiber revitalized.
Wash with other microfiber, or best to just toss it?
One of mine has some black stuff from some window trim I didn't clean.
I'm refering to the grey microfiber applicator pads.

Yes the OEM's are very proud (PRICE $$$) or their parts. Break in oil is kind of the thing of the past, except for some performance applications. My new 2016 Silverado has 0W-20, which is mainly offered in synthetic only. GM has been using synthetic in certain Cadillacs and Corvette right from new for awhile now. Just look at Dexos is mainly offered in synthetic. To keep this "forum related"...make sure to use CLEAN oil!
I just had a GM reman put in my Suburban...$ ouch! After start-up with "break-in oil", to my great surprise the oil was changed to synthetic before being returned to me. (Also my new Corvette Z06 was delivered with synthetic.) I always thought synthetic was not the greatest break-in oil...so much for what I know!
Back to detailing stuff...always use a CLEAN filter!
Keep your engine compartment CLEAN and use some super VRT!

Oh I see. I stand corrected, I guess it was rebuilt by the dealer. I know Scion had trouble with a oil leak from the head gasket for awhile, can't remember which engine, been awhile since I've done one.It was rebuilt because it had a factory issue with the seals on the pistons and a couple other components that caused excessive oil consumption. Then while they had it there I had them replace everything else that was worn or damaged since they had already had the engine "opened up".

Check for aftermarket, a 10year old vehicle the aftermarket should have something. A quality body shop will also be able to help you. I'm pretty sure the technical term is belt moulding

Probably a Scion reman engine, dealers usually won't rebuild it themselves. Just follow the new car break in, as in the owners manual, and then switch to your synthetic oil of choice. It is a 2008 scion tc, with a 2.4L AZ-FE straight 4. Rebuild was done my Toyota themselves. They advised I use the specified oil which is a 5W-20.
When I install a factory reman or new engine that is what I recommend.
Just out of curiosity, why was the engine replaced?
This is NOT what new tires should look like.
