  1. Adam makes great stuff. A bit more money than other brands, but the products rule as does the service you get. Really can't go wrong.
  2. I like a paint cleaner after polishing. I have always used Meguiar's Deep Crystral Paint Cleaner. Gave me a nice glow. Once wax was applied, the shine was unreal. Now, that product is being disco'ed. Once I use up my last bit I am moving onto revive polish. It could be me and I love making more work for myself, but I swear I see a difference when I don't do a paint cleaner stage. Ah well, goes on easy with the PC and comes off easy too. I am sure Revive Polish does equally if not better and cleaning up the paint.
  3. Once a full take goes through it I should have a good idea. Most likely it is just placebo that I am feeling. But RPM are most definately lower when I am going around town. I find it east to punch it to get some response out of the intake which could lead me to less mpg. I try to keep it around 2k for most driving situations. As for the exhaust, why not just go with a muffler? I was looking at the Aero Turbine 2525XL. That comes with a resonator to keep the noise close to stock. The 2525 will be louder. DynoMax makes a nice muffler for our trucks.
  4. Got my hands on the TRD CAI kit for realy cheap. Way too good to pass up. Even if I don't like it, I will always get my money back at the very least. Anyhows.. here are some pics: Verditct is still out whether I am keeping it in or not. Depends on how the MPG comes back after a full tank goes through it. RPMS seem lower in my city driving, which could result in a good thing. Above 1800K or so, I feel like I might have a crisper response. Could be all butt-dyno too. Sound is either growing on me or diminishing as the ECU relearns my driving. Anyways, thanks for looking as always!
  5. I am amazed. I mean amazed that you get these cars up there. What do they do? Rinse there mits in mud? I thought it was old pics until I spotted the WCW in your locker. BTW, I love that signature shot you always do. You do outstanding work. Couyld you post what you used to get that finish? Also, how does one get around enblems and still get that shine?
  6. Went over the plastic fenders with FMP with the 4" orange by hand. Then 4" white by hand. Pads were primed with FMP with a shot of detail spray for some extra lube. They are in good shape as the truck is a 2009. Didn't want too much cut, just needed to 'clean em up' a little. They looked pretty good after that. They are color-keyed plastic, so I was not going to hit them with the buffer for a full assualt. When I did the fender panel, I gave them just a real light pass with the fmp w/o any real pressure. Kinda just glossed it up. The paint is so clear now, the fenders almost look out of place.
  7. I actually bought this with my winters in mind. I like to bring the truck to the self-serve car wash. Use the pressure washer wand to blow most of the gunk and salt off. Does a good job but always leaves a film. I think this will work nicely. I like to wash the truck in this time of year, so I don't know if I would ever put the hose away in favor of this for a wash. I also think it would be good for touch ups.
  8. Thanks everyone! This was my process: 1) Pre-Soak w/ Foam Gun and Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo (no Adam's yet ) 2) Wash w/ Dawn to strip old wax. 3) Rinse w/ sheeting method. 4) Gave truck solid clay job. Not much stuff in the paint, but good to get it done. 5) Rinsed truck again after claying all surfaces. 6) Dried w/ Adam's drying towel. 7) Proceeded to use 1 pass of SHR/Orange on the whole truck, with adding a second pass where needed. (Hood and tailgate). Then IPA. 8) 2 passes w/ FMP/White. Then IPA 9) Whole truck down with Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner. Then IPA 10) Whole truck with Meguiar's #7 Polish 11) SMW/Black on whole truck. Trim was done with 303 Protectant. Rims + Tires cleaned with GWC. Wells cleaned with APC then UCS added.
  9. Just a couple from last detailing session. Going to try and get some newer ones for this month's contest. Gotta up my game, tough competition on here! Anyways... Thanks for looking!

I guess to cover my rear end if I mess something up. But,I doubt I will be taking any exotic cars. And I don't use a RO so, chanceof me buring clear coat should be slim.

Thanks for the tips! I feel if I can just get a few people I can get something going. I feel I do pretty darn good work. So I feel word of mouth will help. So do people carry insurance? I mean people like me who just want to put some extra bucks inmy pocket.

I have been out of work since my shoulder surgery but I do intend to try that roue once I get back. See if there is any interest.
  13. The 4" pads are great. I actually use the yellow 4" pad for some fine scratch removal by hand. A little SHR and somee elbow grease and off they come.

I love detailing vehicles. Would love to pick up some business. I try to hustle (legally of course! ) where I can. I've had tons of people drive by me while detailing and nobody has ever stopped to ask. Either I stink at it or nobody wants it done! How did everyone get thier break? Did you just get cards printed up and drop them off on cars in parking lots? (ala Adam!) Did you ask people "Hey, can I detail your car"? Ad in paper? For people doing it out of the driveway/home. Do you cary an insurance policy? Umbrella maybe?
  15. I know, I was just stating the I think a product like Adam's WCW is better than ONR. I have been debating ONR for a while now. As I had posted, ONR did not seem like a spray and wipe. Adam's does. I would think that Adam's way of a WCW is better. To me, the rinse is the easiest thing to do. I could care less if I have to rinse. Everything else is the same with ONR as a traditional wash. It does save water, which I believe in. However, I am very tight with my water. THe more I use,the more I pay. Which means less car products to buy! lol. I wasn't throwing stones by any means... I was just pointing out my opnion. Sorry if it maybe came across different.
  16. ONR is a no-rinse car wash. I didn't see anything to spray and wipe. Mix it up for a no rinse wash , but I still have to soak my mitt in it and 'wash' the car. And then wipe off. What looked god about Adam's stuff, to me at least, was that I could spray it on and wipe it off. I am sure I could do the same with this as ONR. But that isn't the reason I bought Adam's. I like it as a spray'n'wipe kinda deal. Many times after it has rained I like to go over the truck. DS does a good job but, like Adam said, builds up. I think the combo of DS and WCW is perfect to maintain a DD.
  17. Agreed. However, finding 303 protectant, let alone the fabric gaurd locally is slim at best for me. The ScotchGuard Auto is readily available. It is by far cheaper than having the 303 stuff shipped in. SG works real well though. The new Taco sport seats have this material on the outsides of the seat and everything it rained I would get water spots that needed to be cleaned. After the application of SG, I can just get a towel and rub them out. Haven't had a stain (knock on wood) yet to see. Winter does a number on the floor mats, so we shall see.....
  18. I think that might be the worst piece of clay I have ever seen. lol
  19. Scotchgaurd for me. They have one for auto interior. Needed 3 cans to coat the ds/ps/floor mats. Left the read alone as nont much goes in there. Dries very quickly and works very well. 2 applications for constant coverage. Just be warned, it is very chemically. (is that a word? lol) so ventilation is a must.
  20. I am not seeing just the gallon for $30. I see the combo and the 16oz. Am I just looking in the wrong place?
  21. I think this product will shine for me during the winter. I use the pressure washer type car washes in the winter to get the salt and crud off. I think a follow application of this will give me a great looking truck in the winter. I usually wash my truck once a week in the summer. Outside of extra lube, I can't see me using this instead of my water wash. I like to actually wash it. Quick cleanups is another good use for this type of product. (ie bird poop, door jambs, etc). I will be ordering some.
  22. Is it possible to use FMP on a slightly less cut pad (say Blue as I think Black has no cut) to achieve final results to 85RD? I see people talking about 'jeweling' a finish with 85RD. I have to imagine that all this extra step is using a lightly cutting pad with a finish polish to make the finish sparkle. Am I correct? And is step even needed on light colored cars? I stopped after FMP/White and after some SMW it looks great. Would I be 'wowed' to a point that my extra work would be worth it? I keep some 105 around for small scratch removal. I use it on a MF or the 4" Adam's pads. As the abrasives are non-dminishing, it is easier for me to spot treat my DD's. I tried ScratchX 2.0, not really a strong enough prodct for my needs. SHR takes care of everything 2.0 did for me. The 105 is just less work, scratches go very quickly. I follow that w/ FMP and some cleaner wax for that area. I like how SHR and FMP bridges the gap between products
