  1. Nice!! and that is a BIG truck. Waxing my F150 with a short bed seemed to take me a lifetime. Could not image doing that monster.
  2. This is my exact approach as well. Been very pleased with the results to date.
  3. Welcome to AF !!! Lots of information and knowledge to be gained here. I learn something new everyday.
  4. Heck Ya. I can truthfully say with pride and unwavering support that I have NEVER paid for Shipping. Now, I'm not sure if that is a result of my addiction denial, stupidity or a combination of both but I sure sleep well at night with a clear conscience knowing that I save 8 bucks by spending 3 times that on more product.
  5. That's awesome!!! Appreciate the shout out, but I have to return the favor as your post just gave me a great response to my lovely wife on my next order (waiting for that Mystery Box to be posted before I pull the trigger). Wife: You ordered ANOTHER box of stuff from Adam's? Don't you have enough? Husband (Me): Sweetie, I bought something to help get our sons baseball clothes clean with less effort and frustration scrubbing the stains. Oh, and you can also use it on any other stain too... here's proof (insert Chris's post here). Wife: Well, what are the other products for? Husband: Well, I had to get free shipping. LOL Thanks again, Tom
  6. We have a yellow Labrador Retriever that also enjoys the water. I too use a waffle weave towel to dry her off, but it is an off brand that was much cheaper than the great white (I save my great white for the cars ). The advantage to this approach is that the towels are cheaper, the disadvantage is getting her short hair out of the towels when I wash them. Not sure if this issue is due to the cheap quality of the towel or if all waffle weaves would have this characteristic. If you don't mind, chime in after you clean the towels and let me know how the great white handles the removal of the dog hair that gets stuck... may persuade me to purchase those for the ease of keeping them clean.
  7. That's a great tip. I will have to try this on my sons white baseball pants. We have tried so many household products (with varying levels of success) over the last few years, it does not hurt to extend that to my vehicle products as well. Without knowing whether it will discolor or damage the fabric I will simply try it on an old pair. Baseball session is just kicking off and I'm already gearing up to deal with the volume of dirt and field dust my son brings with him to our vehicles.
  8. I use hearing protection all the time. My primary hobby is woodworking so I grew accustomed to wearing hearing protection since I use so many power tools and just got accustomed to wearing them even while the tools were off. I stopped using ear bud style hearing protection years ago and use over the ear ones as I've found them much more comfortable wearing for expended periods of time. Like others have said, it does help me focus and if I want to listen to music, I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones as well. Another advantage for me during the winter months is that keeping my ears covered also helps keep me warmer.
  9. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the new ride.
  10. I understand where you are coming from, but I'm sure it is a pretty difficult balancing act to accommodate those shopping by price and being able to procure a manufacturer locally. Often times I wonder if companies choose to outsource overseas or if that happens to be their only option. I think we sometimes forget that not everything is available from a US manufacturer, and that our only options are to look somewhere else or not carry the item at all. Not sure where some of these products fall, but I've always been curious. In the end, I love Adams commitment to quality and I will give them the benefit of the doubt. If sales become more important than their quality, you will notice the change immediately.
  11. Interesting. I just purchased a 32 oz of G & G on my order last month and now I don't see it available. Adam's reducing their size options?
  12. Welcome Mike. I too have a child just turning 16. We gave her my older Camry as her first car and while detailing has not been something she has shown interest in, she loves Adam's products because of the smell and how well they work. What I've been impressed with the most is her desire to keep her car clean (inside and out) and looking its best considering it's an older vehicle. So, while detailing may not be in her future... I'm ecstatic at the time she has been putting into taking care of her 'new' car. Now, If I can just figure out a way for this to transfer over to her keeping her room clean, I will be all set. LOL
  13. Welcome and enjoy the journey... I'm still learning and reading every day. A ton of information availabile on the posts and very friendly members
  14. Welcome.. that was my approach as well (starting with a MB). Purchased another the following month and then took this last cycle off. Ya, don't do that. In addition to getting a lot of flack from Joe ( LOL ), I've been envious of everyone's post over in the "Mystery Box" thread the last few days thinking "that could have been MINE!!!". Trust me when I say... keep ordering those for awhile if you can swing it as the variety and value in them is hard to beat; especially for those of us just starting out with Adam's products.
  15. Added my vote above....I'm all in on the VRT. The results and ease of use just far exceeds everything else I've tried. Even the dilution ideas that are posted in another thread are extremely useful for the various surfaces on my truck. (Copied from another post) Dilution Ratios: Super VRT 1:1 – spray-on, low gloss tire dressing or bedliner dressing 2:1 – spray-on detailer for vinyl soft tops, tonneau covers 3:1 - quick detail spray dressing for protecting matte vinyl wraps
  16. I had the same need after I received the Americana wax in my first mystery box.... I purchased their patriot wax applicator. While it is slightly larger in height, it is the same diameter of the standard red one that comes in the Americana wax. I don't store the applicator inside with the wax but it does make it easier to get an even amount on the applicator while using it. http://adamspolishes.com/adam-s-blue-red-patriot-applicator.html
  17. Eric - Not sure if this helps you, but I ran into a similar situation and was able to access the 'my profile' area by putting the device in landscape mode and having the device adjust the screen. Anyway.. just a suggestion.
  18. At my Walgreens, the ISO was $3.49 and the hydrogen was $1.79. Fortunately I had bottles of both at home so I did not have to waste the contents... but they were still cheaper than any other empty bottle I found.
  19. I’ve seen this topic of acquiring 8 oz bottles before, but since I’ve been unable to get 8 oz bottles for all the main products I use, I decided to create my own. The goal of this project is to keep small but useful sizes in my car along with several microfiber towels. I don't have a specific bag for this yet, but that is the next step. In starting, my requirements were as follows: 8 oz capacity Stable footprint (will not tip easily... found some very thin bottles that I did not like) Compatible with standard spray nozzle (I have large hands and don’t want a small nozzle) NOTE: Bonus is that they would fit Adam’s spray nozzles too. CHEAP In my hunt for the right bottle, I never really found anything that fit all my criteria so I started thinking that I could order several of the 8 oz detail spray bottles from Adams and then just relabel them with the products that I wanted. Well, I think I found a great compromise and I thought I would share it with the rest of the Adams loyalists. I found bottles at our local drug store (Walgreens) that are used for Isopropyl Alcohol and Hydrogen Peroxide (Iso is the clear bottle). These 8 oz bottles seem to fit my requirements so I bought several to test my idea. For the labels, I purchased full 8x11 shipping labels to print the labels out on my printer and then laminated them with selfseal sheets I purchased from our local office supply store. Below are the pics of the finished products. I’m not really concerned with the fact that the hydrogen bottles are not clear because they were half the price of the ISO bottles. I figure that I could tell how much I have left based on the weight of the bottles. This is what I started with, I soaked the empty bottles in hot water to remove the labels. Here are the shipping labels and laminating sheets I used These are the labels that I printed out and laminated to protect the ink/image. (Note: The template was created based on the size of the original label on the bottle to ensure I covered the glue residue) Once I cut out all the labels and applied them to the bottles, this is how they turned out. Note: I put the 16 oz Adams bottle next to the new ones for scale purposes. Here is a picture of one bottle with the spray nozzle that came with the bottle and the other with an Adams spray nozzle (black one) attached. The seal is perfect and there are no leaks. In the end, pretty pleased with the results and the sprayer that came with the bottles seem to work well although time will tell regarding the durability. At first I was somewhat concerned that the bottles could not handle the chemicals, but this is a trial so I will just have to keep an eye on them. Hope this helps someone... it was a fun project nonetheless.
  20. Welcome CavsFan216 From a fellow newbie in Twinsburg, Ohio (and fellow Cavs fan).
  21. I didn't know that (about storing them separate). Thanks for the info
