Hey guys, if any of you remember me, it’s been a while, business is booming!
In your experience how long does the protection last, does it remove swirls effectively, and does it contain fillers?
Thanks,
Nate

I took the plunge and paid for membership and the ten tests...I haven’t taken any of them yet. I will in the coming week. I’ll let you guys know how they are.
I don’t think I’ll spend the money to get skills validated. I think our portfolio speaks for itself, and I’m not sure what doors the skills verified status would open for us.
How much did it cost for the 10 exams?

You guys should see Minnesota! If you have a red truck, it will be white! On warmer days we still can’t use the hose around here so I found this awesome machine that sprays enough water to get rid of the salt but not make a mess. It’s called the Worx Hydroshot. It’s like a battery operated pressure washer wand, it has a hose that you put into a bucket to draw water. I was able to wash (including foam) a full size pickup with one battery and 2, 5 gallon buckets of hot water! Best truck in town, until it snows again...

3M fabric scotch guard is the best, though I wish adams would make it, or some kind of fabric guard!

Pretty sure it's still his math teacher. He's not at the "professor" stage yet.
And it's good to see he's moved on, at least in part, from what many teenagers consider a complete meal...

Dusters create swirls and marring. Dragging dry particles against dry particles is a no no. Using WW or DS is much safer and doesn't take much longer.

Did more hurricane prep - boarded up some windows, put a few more large yard items in the fenced in dog run, tested my Coleman stove, and set the cordless drill batteries on the charger. And of course while I was showering I remembered a gutter down spout that I wanted to clean. I will do that tomorrow, as we make our final preparations for Irma's Sunday night approach.
Prayers to Scott (Sizzle Chest) and others in S.W. Fla.
Get those cars on jacks!

Would the red wash mit work better for cleaning nasty thrashed, and muddy vehicles? Also to not destroy the nice wash pads?
To add:
The standerd wash pad Adam’s sells is best for that, it is the most aggressive (not harmful to paint but the best for cleaning)
The red wash mitt Adams sells does a good job of removing dirt and stuff and is also very soft.
The merino mitt is the softest and safest wash possible. It doesn't remove heavy grit well, it is really meant for Hellcats, Ferrari's, and Porsche's. Cars that you really care about and want zero swirls on.

Adams finishing polish is supposed to prep the surface for PS anyways!I never do a alcohol wipe down and I never have any issues.
But it's fine if you feel you need the extra step.......

Welcome back, Dan!I use it about every 3 or 4 washes like others have said, when I have significant brake dust build-up, but you could use it every wash provided you follow all of the safety precautions:
- Only clean one wheel at a time
- Only clean wheels if the wheel and brakes are cool to the touch
- Do not let the Wheel Cleaner dry onto the wheel/caliper
- Very thoroughly rinse the wheel and caliper
It's a strong cleaner, so I respect it as such. I've had zero issues with it following the above guidelines

I think you meant P.S., not PS LMAOcar cover are made to breath, with that said i like and use the brand covercraft, autoanything.com has the best deals on car covers. make sure you sign up for there email specials and youll save 20% on your first purchase and they always have a sale on car covers. here is the link on the cover i use. There is a madness to wiping the car down before using your car cover this will prevent damage to the finish!

What about foam!!if its raining i just fill a bucket with water and car shampoo and go to town!
Oh, wait, that’s right, you don’t know how to use a foam gun.....

Don’t let that sit it WILL eat your paint! Scrape it off with a plastic putty knife! And then shoot the bird after like ZMAN said!

I think the sprayer would get clogged but I have heard from Kerwin at Aloha Detail that it works well!

Either are fine, the pro about it being wet is that you have extra lubricity, the con is that your towel gets soaked, and fast. When using WW when dry, your towel doesn’t get soaked, but you also don’t have the added lubrication that water has.

Put it on your moms credit card!!I hope you don't want change for your two cents Nate Dawg, I just don't have it lol.
It is not a wax at all, it has protection derived from silica. (What the ceramic coatings are made of.)Good discussion.
I think of the same, Joe...polymers = synthetic. But this still doesn't answer if the W&W has polymers and/or silica, and whether it's really a Wash & Wax or Wash & "Seal." Hopefully someone from the Adam's team can chime in and set me straight.
BTW, she we all tend to think of wax as natural (i.e. carnuba), some car waxes do still contain polymers, in addition to different types of waxes, oils, etc. Depends on the brand/type of car wax.
I think if it had polymers it would be like Megs Ultimate Wash and Wax, very minor protection that only lasts about a week or 2.

I agree with Joe and Dustin, and to add my 2 cents, silica is what the ceramic coatings are made of.

I know it will never be as good, but the cheap guys want a cheaper service so I’ll give them this, debating on using this or HD Speed?
