A grey utility towel works great, so give that a shot.

What are you trying to clean? Have you already gone through a pack of erasers? Note the LIC is pretty strong, so applying LC after is recommended if you haven’t been using it. Or you could also consider ID and/or just LC for a gentler but still effective cleaning process.

Gotcha. Be sure to pick up some ID for maintenance cleanings. Great product. IMO the LIC really shouldn’t be needed all that often after you get the interior cleaned.

If you're using the Leather Cleaner, be sure to follow up with a good coat or two of the Leather Conditioner.    And they just came out with some new products for interiors.
The Multi Use Foaming Cleaner can be used on heavy dirt, even on carpeting.  https://adamspolishes.com/shop/specials/sub-category-1/adam-s-multi-use-foaming-cleaner.html
And the Interior Goo will pick up dirt and fibers and little stuff that is stubborn to get out like around shift boots or vents.  https://adamspolishes.com/shop/specials/sub-category-1/adam-s-interior-goo.html

I usually use grey utility towels and the cockpit brush for my interior. It does take some scrubbing to get out the deeper stains, but you dont have to press hard.

If you're going to go through the trouble of a thorough decontamination, I would skip the H2O and apply paint sealant by hand if you don't have a DA. Even if you do have a DA I'd still do it by hand, I have always applied LPS by hand and it has been trouble free. Hope this helps!

I just applied LPS by hand yesterday on my Camaro.  It's a very simple process.  Use a little bit too much on the first panel/section to get the pad loaded a bit and then go very light after that or buffing off will be a pain.  I just go around the whole vehicle applying the LPS and then buff it off once I get done.  20-30 minutes max.

I just detailed my wife's Subaru Crosstrek and used Liquid Paint Sealant for the first time. So far, I'm amazed by the results of actually using the product, and the shine upon completion. I've yet to see how well it will hold up over time, but I'm expecting good things. This car looks really neat with the baby blue paint and the chunky black cladding.

For the car's next couple of washes, I was aiming to just do a simple wash and then use Guard & Gloss to dry & finish things off. I just purchased G&G, but have not used it yet. Are there any issues with repeated applications of G&G on top of paint sealant over time? I won't be washing the car all the time, maybe every couple of weeks, but I want to make sure piling layers of G&G on top of each other, on top of paint sealant isn't eventually going to make things look wonky, how having too many coats of wax on top of each other could.

    Thanks!

    Rich,
I got links to Adams VRT and TRC open on my phone and will probably order over the weekend to add to the collection. Both products look very interesting.

VRT is for Vinyl, Rubber, and Tires, not paint.  Just clarifying.  So it doesn't really matter when you put it on.  I do my tires, etc. last.

Actually I meant to apply after decon, before clay. Clay residue can also get on the trim, so it'll help with that. And when you say decon, do you mean strip wash? Sorry, I'm not familiar with the McKees products.

Welcome, John! You've come to the right place to get started and learn.

Overall your plan looks pretty solid. When you're ready to try polishing, feel free to ask any more questions you have. Polishing will also help bring out some shine you won't otherwise get by skipping it.

    Now to your questions:
Does my plan seem ok for a newbie? Yep, I'd say so. Only things I'd add are: 1) after strip wash, apply VRT (if you have it) to all the trim - it'll make removing any clay, sealant and wax residue that you WILL get on it much easier later, 2) ensure the clay residue is removed, using either another strip wash or 50/50 isopropyl alcohol wipedown, 3) be careful while coating as you could cause some marring that won't be removed without polishing, and 4) have a cold one ready for when you're done!   Will doing the sealant both by hand be wise? Sure. Just be sure you apply in a thin, even layer.   Will it be a long challenge by hand? No, but a machine polisher would make it go faster and help ensure a more even coating.   If I recall the Adams Paint Sealant and Americana can be used in some sunlight. Does this also mean it can be used in sunlight if applied with a DA? Yes to PS, but I prefer to work indoors. Can't vouch for the wax, I don't use it.   I purchased 2 yellow hand pads - is the yellow hand pad good to apply the Paint Sealant with? I didn’t realize there were different colors / types. While the grey MF applicator will also work for by hand, you can use the yellow (or red). It's soft enough and has no cutting power.   Will the Paint Sealant and Americana again trim should I be a little sloppy with applying? It won't permanently stain it, but I recommend you apply VRT first. If you don't have the VRT and get some sealant or wax on the trim, use either a bit of APC or TRC to remove it. Just take care to not get either on the paint as it'll remove what you just applied. Spraying directly on a towel works.

Yes, John, you'll want to apply the VRT before the sealant and wax.  It'll help with clean up of any stray product, as Falcaineer mentioned above, plus it looks fantastic.!!
