  1. I always knew you were a nice guy, Jae. Did you go with a Master Blaster AND a Vac n Blo? Thats some serious hardware!
  2. Chris...thanks for your input on this. This obviously just started out as an experiment to figure out why some of the nozzles seemed to have a mind of their own. The name of the game here is getting that extra lube out of there while protecting the single internal o-ring. The first test of spraying 100% APC into the nozzle actually worked TOO well, and it made it almost impossible to make adjustments to the spray pattern while the water was on. So SOME lube is necessary, just not as much as is in there from the manufacturer. Good luck everyone and continue to let us know if these methods work or what else you may discover.
  3. Uneditted and unpretty, but this is the problem that we set out to solve. The second nozzle shown now functions as well as the first one.
  4. Ken: It might be possible that some water can still creep by because the over application of lubricant allows the nozzle to easily slip and slide around. 100% shut off was achieved, even without the use of a separate shut off valve, once the lubricant was lessened. Hope this helps!
  5. Sorry to get to the party late. We just returned to Orlando. Dave: First, it was my pleasure to meet you and get this issue resolved once and for all. It really made it obvious when we put 2 nozzles on one hose and they acted completely different. Like Dave mentioned, some folks have had issues with their fire hose nozzle not maintaining spray position unless firmly held. This seemed a little odd, so we set out to find a solution. Dave's solution above will work if you do not desire to disassemble your nozzle. The idea here is to remove some of the lubricant. Keep in mind that there is one rubber o-ring inside that you'll want to re-lubricate. So after adding the APC, please shoot some WD-40 or other product in there to keep the o-ring from drying out. For those that want to take apart your nozzle, its REALLY simple. A deep 3/8" socket and a screwdriver is all you need. Inside the nozzle is the nut, and just hold it steady with the screwdriver on the outside. Here is a picture of the nozzle taken apart: Instead of using any chemicals, I simply wiped the excess lubricant off of the black part and out of the threads in the red part. Reassembly was simply reverse of dis-assembly. The only difference is that you want to use a shallow socket, so that you can get the nut started on the threads. Face the nozzle "up" and it'll be easy to get started. This final picture is a closer shot of the black internals. Just to the right of my fingertip is the o-ring. I wiped away all the lubricant, except that which was on the o-ring. Works great now. Mystery solved.
  6. Looks nice! I gotta sport up my Colorado. Why strobes? Work related or just show stuff?
  7. White is a tough cookie because its just harder to see the imperfections. But micro-swirls. etc still cut down on the shine, same as a black car. For your purposes, inspect the paint carefully. Even with such low miles, if a dealer touched it, it will have swirled paint and a full correction will be necessary. (wash, clay, polish, wax) If you are ok with how the surface looks, then baggie test it. Claying the surface will pull all the bonded contaminants off, followed by glaze and wax. That will be really improve the appearance, even with white. Check out the videos for deeper explanation of all the processes.
  8. Florida guys: You are correct. The Camaro show in March is about to hit the updated calendar. Dave hit it exactly. Other states have fewer shows but they are massive in comparison to our shows here. On any given weekend, there can be 10 shows within reasonable driving distance. I've got plans to spread the Adam's word in the Sunshine State more and more in 2012. If there are shows in your area, PLEASE let me know, and based on my availability, I'll do everything I can to get there. Some of the best shows aren't even advertised widely outside of the local area.
  9. I thought that too, but be careful...if they are so fragile that washing lifts them, tape may pull them as well. In keeping with the "least aggressive" mindset, I'd start with avoiding them all together.
  10. If they are that fragile, I'd say steer clear with the PC...then finish up with some closer hand polishing, but not over the pin-striping at all.
  11. THIS is the key. The products are the same, my prices are the same, I honor all discounts, AND you can avoid shipping altogether if you either pick up or I deliver it. I'm available on the phone almost 24 hours a day and if anyone is ever skeptical about buying a product, I let them use some of mine out of my private stock first. Just think of your local dealer as an extension of the warehouse.
  12. Outstanding work, Jae! Looks like maybe you've had some practice The before and after photos are wonderful!
  13. Also, check with your local dealers if you've GOTTA have the Clear Polish....some of us still have it....hint, hint.
  14. O M G I've seen a lot of pictures, but THOSE are amazing!!
  15. Outstanding as usual. I really appreciate these write-ups. They are great references.
  16. You are very welcome! I know that I feel that what I contributed is miniscule when compared to what you do for this country. If you ever travel to Florida with your dad, make sure to give me a call!
  17. Just finished checking out the Epic Rap Battles of History on YouTube.
  18. I thought it was the 23rd? "i have oct. 23rd on sunday open if anybody wants to come over. know that if you can't come, you will all be in our hearts....;)"
  19. Another great article. Simple to understand for anyone having these issues.
  20. There's nothing more that I would love to do then be there to see the reveal and help with one on one clinic. We'll just have to coordinate our calendar's when you are in FL.
  21. Nice thread! Before I get started....clearly Dylan spends WAY too much time detailing if he enjoys a fine ipa (typed i.p.a. triggers the auto-fill-in) Ybor Gold was a really nice beer brewed in Ybor City (near Tampa). Just a clean finish that I really do miss. Sam Adams is kind of my "go to" brew. All their seasonal still is outstanding. If you can find it Fraoch Heather Ale is dang tasty. I'll be interested to see what others talk about here as I am always looking to try our something new.
  22. Absolutely....1988 Red base coupe camaro. 6cyl and FUN to drive...either that or my second car....a 91 Z28 All those PALE in comparison for the car that I would buy on the spot...my Dad's 2 tone silver 1986 Corvette. I carry that VIN in my wallet and check every one I see.
