  1. We have a lot of those around here. I'd donate what I have and keep moving. Keep that grunge sponge and mud water away from my car. You can get swirls just by getting to close!
  2. I also get all the major work done in the days before the show. Then AT the show, I wipe the wheels, Waterless Wash all the dust off, Detail Spray for that final pop and check the glass. Thats it.
  3. Part of it is softening the sharp edges of the scratch/swirl, so its less of a sharp "V" shape and more of a broad "U" shape. Part of it is actually removing some clear coat on a microscopic level to remove the swirl entirely. Kinda like using sandpaper......kinda.
  4. Great work Jack....as always. Mook, you should see it in person. It's almost unreal. Absolutely one of the most amazing jobs of detailing on any car anywhere.

    Carroll Shelby

Truly a sad day. RIP. As much of a Chevy guy as I am, as was my Dad, a dream car of mine is certainly a 427.
  6. If you are working in/near the body shop where they do painting, be careful to not use any products with silicone in them (Undercarriage Spray). It will wreak havoc on their paint jobs. You might be able to get away with just Brilliant Glaze and Americana. EDIT EDIT EDIT: IF the car has been freshly painted, there is really NOTHING you should put on the paint for about 3 months in terms of waxes or sealants. No good can come from that.
  7. Not to throw another wrench in the works, but I LOVE my TEC grill. They're out of South Carolina, I think. AMAZING quality. Mine has been outside uncovered in Florida for like 10 years...no rust and it still works like the day it was bought, like 15 years ago.
  8. With the old Brilliant SPRAY Glaze, it was suggested to put the Glaze on top of the wax. With the current Brilliant Glaze, it is suggested to go below the wax. The shine enhancement of the Glaze comes from filling in minor imperfections that detract from your shine. There's nothing wrong with putting the Glaze on TOP of the wax, but it has been reported to lessen the longevity of the wax. But if you are just looking for face melting and not caring about longevity, then try it. The reality is that no matter what order you put the products on your car, you're not going to damage anything. So try different combos and stick with with one that gives you the results you want. Then let us know what worked for you.
  9. Since you originally you said you we're so worried about longevity, try this on half the hood...strip the MSS entirely, then just go with Glaze and Americana. See if that gives you the look you are after.
  10. All the neighborhoods that feel it is necessary to water the asphalt instead of the grass..... Actually worse than that is a current trend I have been seeing: "Detailers" (none here) that tell people "Oh, you can't get those swirls and holograms out. That's just the way it is."
  11. My Vette is Medium Grey Metallic. The key to "pop" is perfect polishing first. Glaze (maybe even 2 coats back to back with a little longer "set" time), then Americana. That's going to be as "popped" as you can get. And remember: THIN THIN THIN coats. The best way I've heard the difference in "look be described is this: Sealants give a more reflective look, like a mirror. Waxes give a wetter look, like a mirror under a few inches of water. Not sure if that is TECHNICALLY true, but I can see the difference on certain surfaces. As far as your SVRT issue: some plastics just don't "take" SVRT as well as others. Only suggestion again is THIN coats. Put one on, knock it down with a foam block, then apply another coat later and knock that down as well.
  12. Beat me to it. It took the wonders of Carpet Cleaner to convince Holley it was an amazing product line. Now she's a pro at explaining everything.
  13. Just make sure the brush doesn't have a bunch of brake dust on it. Or have 2 different ones.
  14. DaveVY is close to I-75 as well. We got the state covered!
  15. Longevity. Americana will last longer. MAYBE a shine difference. Dunno if anyone would take the Pepsi Challenge on that though. Ease of application. Both are SUPER easy, but Buttery might have a slight edge and be SUPER EASIEST. Honestly, you can't go wrong either way.
  16. From the interior, I'd say the "digi-dash" Corvettes. Just something so cool about 'em...of course I'm biased.
  17. Nice. I've got one of each Corvette generation, including a 78 Pace Car. I've been looking for a C7 Sideswipe concept. A Delorean would be cool too.

    Bah.....fixt. Thanks.
  20. 5 Most Beautiful Cars of All Time - TheStreet 5. 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV 4. 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 3. 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO 2. 1931 Duesenberg Model J Long Wheelbase Coupe 1. 1974 Lamborghini Countach LP400 Just glad the see my beloved Corvette in such great company. Discuss. What's your number one? Ferrari Testarossa comes to mind, Delorean, 427 Shelby Cobra...and I am sure there are others.
  21. No fire here. What I was trying to say is that "car guys" hear the same thing all the time about how great products are. Perfect example is with SVRT. Adam's doesn't sling. Well guess what? Every other hack product out there says the same thing. Why should a stranger believe me instead of the 30 other products that have said it before me? I 100% believe in SHOWING them, and letting the products speak for themselves, hence the demo car.
  22. Lol....unfortunately, it's these clowns that makes it harder for us at shows to appear to be honest. I ALWAYS have a demo car, so I can simply say "Hey, this isn't our car, let's try it out and see if you like the results."
  23. Nice work! I've seen guys pushing some product at gas stations...they walk up to you while you're willing up and start just grinding on your paint. I stood around and watched a bit just to see what happened. They'd basically make a % sign on the door with the product, wipe it around and boom, done. Wash, clay, polish and wax all in one. And it lasts 6 months at a time!! They asked what I used and after hearing "Adam's" they stopped the hard sell.
  24. Yea, thats the stuff. $12.95 is a fair price. If you have a Barnie's coffee place (like Starbucks), they sell it by the pound as well.
  25. eh....brain just re-engaged....Tanzanian Peaberry...LOVE that coffee. Oh..and keep in mind, Kona and Blue Mountain BLENDS are not the same as straight grinds.
