  1. I would think that because the back seat came out perfect, the alcohol just cleaned the leather where you used it. The area shows up lighter on the front seat because front seats are more heavily used and have some dirt all over them, but the back seats don't. I'd give that entire front seat a good cleaning and conditioning.
  2. I have a Little Green Machine which I use for spills in the house on my carpets. It is good for small jobs and it should work okay for car carpets. However, it is certainly not industrial strength. I am going to use it on my DD this spring. I will probably spray the carpets down with Adam's carpet cleaning solution, scrub them, and then extract as much as I can with my Little Green Machine. It should work great for that. Again, it is not super powerful, but it does get quite a bit of fluid out of carpet. For the price, it works well.
  3. Thank you. I need to watch more videos... Those rascally Olympics keep getting in the way of my Junkman videos! I wonder if we could convince the IOC to add "Detailing" to the Olympic games?
  4. Hey, Junkman, you recommend using the PC at 5 for all tasks? I'm getting ready to order mine this week.
  5. Junkman: I was confused from reading the "Adam's Detailing Reference Guide," which is very handy. Under the part called: "6. Clay bar and detail spray" it says as the last step: "I: Leave residue on the finish!" So, I didn't know how to interpret that. I wondered if it means "leave the residue on the finish," or does it mean "oh my god! It leaves a residue that needs to be washed off!" I think you've clarified it for me. I need to wash off the residue. Thanks!
  6. Hey, Junkman: I have read that the clay leaves a residue on the paint, but I haven't seen what you do after claying to remove the clay residue before polishing. I've watched your videos (many times!), but I must not be too bright because I seem to have missed this step. Thanks.
  7. Adam: (Hi, BTW, I'm new here) I would buy one exactly like the one in the pic. I have worried about leaning against my new Camaro when I am detailing it. The microfiber apron would be GREAT. -Terri PS - give Ashley a raise. She is amazingly helpful!
  8. Ok, I'm going to necrothread. I hope no one minds, but it seems it fits here. Does Adams sell a California Duster? The Junkman seems to recommend them for removing light dust. We get a lot of dust in the summer where we live and I don't want to have to wash my car every day. I'd prefer to get products by Adams because I know they are the best. If Adams doesn't sell them, can anyone recommend a good one for me to buy? Thanks!
  9. Is the pink actually added just to add color an otherwise clear solution? I think if it's just added ONLY to make it pink and provides no other desirable properties to the detail spray, then make it clear. Easier to keep the towels clean. Just my 2 cents.
  10. I notice you used the carpet and upholstery cleaner on the mats, but which brush did you use? I see Adams sells an "interior detailing brush" that is supposed to be used on the seats, but in Adam's video, he uses a stiff bristle brush on the carpets. I don't see a "stiff bristle brush" for sale on Adams site. Is that the same as the interior detailing brush? I'm so confused! Thanks!
  11. Junkman: I notice you used the drill with the small pads in your videos and you mention that they can be used on the PC. Do you prefer a drill or the PC for use with the smaller pads? I'm a total detail noob and you are my hero!
  12. Hehe! Yes I noticed the "boys and girls" in every video (I grin each time). Sorry, I don't mean to be overly touchy about it. My comment was meant all in good fun. I have watched so many of your videos (some several times) in the last week. You have really taken me back to school. You are going to cost me a fortune in detailing supplies for my new Camaro! I'll post some pictures when the weather warms up and I can wash it properly. Thanks again! You rock. Oh, and thank you for your service in the military!
  13. Let's see... this thread started a little more than a year ago... Am I allowed to ask "are we there yet?" I'd love to get one of these. Great idea. Just got a new Camaro and I'm going to be placing a pretty big order in the next 2 weeks. I'd love to get an apron too.
  14. Junkman, I appreciate the info. But, your first post is a bit... er... how do I say this without sounding snotty... well it's sexist! There are plenty of women who detail cars and some of us read these forums. I said "ouch" when I read that last part: "If you allow your wives or girlfriends to do this, trust me, they will screw them up..." 'Nuff said on that. Thanks for teaching all of us (men and women) how to detail our cars properly and how to take care of our supplies.
