  1. That could be a new drinking game. Everytime during your detail that you look at your progressing results and say "holy crap!" take a shot of tequila.
  2. I clayed the vette rims and it took off a load of tiny black specks that I didn't even know were there
  3. The first product I tried was VRT. Dry to the touch and very easy to apply. Other tire dressings I used prior were a real pain to apply evenly and I would end up with spots on the tire that were darker than others...not to mention they would be slimy afterwards and then attract loads of dirt..blargh My first thoughts were 'what else does this guy make and where can I get some??'
  4. Nah, they use a lot of white and gold, and their red is more of a ruby red. BTW I updated the Edit and Quote icons with the correct background color
  5. Part of the reason I don't like it is because it allows avatars to be as wide as signatures, and it looks weird that way. Maybe if you restrict signatures to text only it would look better, but people may object to that too. I'd prefer the old way, or maybe there's an option in the Admin Control Panel to allow users to set their preference?
  6. mine arrived loose in the box with my other products, but with enough packing paper to ensure they aren't bouncing around during shipment
  7. I noticed the new redness on the forum so I was inspired to throw a few more icons together All of what I've made so far are in this folder: http://www.gtawh.com/gwizz/adamsicons/
  8. I think that measures the user's level of reputation. Other users can add to your reputation by clicking on if for example you've provided them with good info on their problem
  9. Actually I prefer it the way it is. It's used completely dry, and the texture of the material literally traps everything onto the sponge. It's very durable and should last quite a long time. I don't use it on my dash though, just the carpets to get out stuff that's stuck in the piles (like at a car show when vacuuming isn't possible). Come to think of it, this would probably work well for getting lint off of dark colored clothes:lolsmack:
  10. http://www.lnt.com/sm-gonzo-dash-wipe-brown--pi-1351943.html Has anybody ever used one of these? Before, I used a lint roller to pick up stubborn fuzzballs, hair, grass, gravel, etc from my carpets (when vacuuming wasn't an accessible option) until I gave this a shot. I thought it seemed gimmicky at first but I was very impressed once I tried it out. Not only does it work 10 times better, but since it's a sponge it can get into places where the lint roller couldn't. The only downside is, since it works so well, it can be a pain to get clean afterwards.
  11. Jason I noticed you started changing some of the icons around the forum and was wondering if you wanted a hand. I made a couple real quick to see what you think Just as a few ideas. Let me know if you want me to help out with the rest

yep this place is shaping up really nice
  13. I live and breathe photoshop and would love to offer my talents
  14. I too keep all of my unused applicators, towels, and sponges stored but just in ziploc bags. I'd probably use rubbermaids if I had a larger cabinet (plus it would be a good excuse to buy more stuff )
  15. than to be casually strolling around outside this time of year
  16. I finally was able to find a before pic of my engine. I painted the valve covers but aside from that the visual improvements are all adam's Before: http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=11&pictureid=52 After: http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=11&pictureid=56
  17. that's quite a drive.. I live in West Haven Welcome to the forum
  18. I always get a kick out of people's reactions when I show them this trick, especially at car shows. "Is your car clean?" "yep" "Bet you it isn't" "how so" "put your hand in this bag and feel your car" "ok..." *claybars a small area* "now do it again" they don't even need to say anything, the expression on their face is priceless
  19. I think it's better this way, so people who are new to detailing know where in the process their questions or comments go.
  20. If you want to stay 100% machine polishing/waxing, I'd suggest the machine essentials, a bottle of VRT, and a bottle of Car Wash. This way you'll have pretty much everything you need to do the complete detail procedure
  21. I'm pretty adept in photoshop and web design so if you need assistance with anything related feel free to ask.
