Finally got my Pontiac back from the body shop after the accident my wife was in. The body shop that I brought it to did an amazing job of fixing everything and straightening it out. The gaps are better than they were before and I had them add a few things into it while it was there as well. Had an idea of having the hood/bumper a bit like the G8 Firehawk and turned out awesome. Also had the taillights tinted. Let me know what you all think. Of course I can't wait for Spring so I can get to work on correcting the paint again and making the black pop, but my question is, is what is the best way to care for a satin finish since that is what the hood is painted with? The past couple days has been rough with vehicles in my family. First on Tuesday, my wife calls me up when she got done with work and tells me that she has a flat tire on 494 (very busy highway at the time). So I load up my car with tools jack and my son to help her. Had no problems changing the tire, just a bit scary doing it on a busy highway like that. So then on Thursday morning I tell my wife to take my car to work so I can get new tires for her car. No more than 45 minutes later she calls me up and tells me she just got into an accident. She was rear ended by a lady that was on the phone and slammed into a lifted truck in front of her. We will find out in a few days what damage cost is. I do like the fact that you can totally see the license plate imprint of the ladies car that rear ended my wife. Dream Workz Auto Detailing using Tapatalk

A member on a car club forum I'm on was asking about windshield wipers and why even the expensive ones don't work. I explained to him about what he should do to make them perform better via Adams tutorial on windshield/window care. So he is coming to my place to try out the Adams products. Now a different club member on there decided to throw his 2 cents out there and said he uses regular wax in which I told him it leaves a haze. Now this is a direct quote from him after I told him it leaves a haze; "I don't see the issue with using wax. Works great for me on every car I've ever had... I didn't want to go buy extra garbage for it to just sit around. Wax leaves a coating which is why the rain just beads off the window instead of just sitting there and soaking in. Sure there might be window specific stuff but I'm not going to spend my money on it when the Meguiars wax on the shelf gives me the desired result!" I had to chuckle a bit. Just a really sad day. I'm a father of a 4 year old and spend a lot of time with my son. I can't even imagine what those families are going through. Well, here's what I did. I gave him the money back, all of it. Showed him what the real price was and he was shocked of my discount I gave him. I shook his hand and he told me that if I need any HVAC work done to give him a call and he'll do it for free, which will be nice since the wife and I are looking at buying a house within a year. Thanks for all the info guys. I'm gonna go to a local detail shop today to get an estimate to find out exactly what they would charge for this truck. Also, I talked to my father and he said that he was going to talk to him about it over a beer, which will probably be interesting. The guy did say I did a fantastic job and will be referring me to a few other people, so maybe this will be a good time for me to let him know I will do a finders fee. All I want to do is make this right, but at the same time not loose money over it since I do use all Adam's products on every vehicle I detail, which I told him that I am using nothing but the best stuff and not the auto parts store products.

On Thursday I did a full detail on a family friends '11 Ford F250 crew cab (strip wash, clay, wax, vacuum and shampoo carpets, clean and apply product to seats and interior panels). It's a pretty big job especially for a full size truck. I figured I'd give them a deal and only do it for $300 which is pretty darn reasonable. Before I did the job I told her what I was going to do and how much I would charge her and she agreed. Mined you this couple owns a successful HVAC company. I finish the job in one day and she was very impressed. Cut me a check for $300 and I was on my way. A few hours go by and I get a call from the husband, who is really good friends with my father and he tells me that I charged way too much and "I thought we were friends here" and I should give some of the money back to his wife. I told him that I gave her a huge steal on my service and had used a lot of my product for the vehicle. My question is, what should I do? Should I give them some money back or nothing at all or should I just give them the entire check back and say screw it? My family has been friends with them for a very long time and it pisses me off that they think they should get **** done for free. Dream Workz Auto Detailing using Tapatalk
