  1. yeah this is this years lightning lap. the 1LE was only 1 second off of the new gt500.
  2. yeah i know a few guys that have them and like them. biggest thing is what wheels to get. that and im going to have to keep up on the underside and the rust. i really dont want to get the frame sprayed but i see no choice. mine are all at 40psi, but i get the wheel shake around 60mph pretty good. that and i dont have tpms in the summer set so i get the nice "check tire pressure monitor system" message on the dash every time i start it lol.
  3. what about road course/autocross?
  4. i use a 3 step step ladder even though i have to move it at least once to hit the front and back portions on the roof. takes me by myself at least 2 hours to wash fully.
  5. thats pretty awesome. you going to take it to the track to put it through its paces?
  6. what do you guys think about the paint condition? maybe a couple passes with the porter cable and fine machine polish? ill do a test spot and see in a couple months but figured id ask.
  7. another day of rain and cringing at the road grit on it already haha. why i lifted a truck and put on big mud tires to drive the roads and want to keep the paint clean i dont know i guess i wanted to make opposites work
  8. yeah i like it. probably on a couple years at most left on the tires, going to have to come up with some money for new tires and wheels. thinking something 20x10 5in bs probably in black with the raw metal colormatched red but open to chrome/machined (so i can use tons of metal polish haha) and some nitto trail grapplers
  9. maybe its the mixing of the americana and quick sealant but im not sure.
  10. my parents love the thing. my dad is the northeast regional product trainer for cadillac. its got the 2.0 turbo and that is a load of fun. turbo runs outta steam a bit before the redline but it is a little nimble car. gets decent gas mileage and overall quality is nice.
  11. So I FINALLY get around to getting the truck all cleaned up and put the summer wheels/tires on. was a beautiful day yesterday in the mid 70's and sunny. even got sunburn on my head! so i dusted off the old adams shirt of course lol and i went home to see my dad had already cleaned the cadillac ats up, that glacier blue metallic really pops. truck was very dirty from the winter with road rash, tar, you name it. The paint isnt too bad(i have a pic from after the wash), a little tiny spots, swirls, water spots(clay took that off no problem) nothing the PC couldnt handle ill just have to figure out how much with what compound to use. I will do that the end of july before the truck show. only thing left after yesterday is to do the interior(waiting on the cleaner to show up) and the exhaust tips with metal polish and and some quick sealant. i was gona get a couple touch ups to it today and clean the tips, but i woke up this morning and its raining! i cant win:explode: so here is what was done to my truck: -cleaned the winter wheels/tires with APC and GWC foam sprayers -2 bucket adams wash with car shampoo with a bit of APC using a jumbo for the top and small for the bottom. -took the big drying towel to wipe the water off -cleaned up the summer wheels with WW and coated with QS and Americana with tires dress with a light coating of SVRT -clayed the truck using detail spray -used In&Out on the truck plastics -glass cleaner on the glass -coating of buttery wax on the paint. here is the caddy: good bye winter setup(washed it at this point only): the paint on the hood after washing with shampoo/APC in the bucket: i did have a problem with an americana applicator pad though, some spots were on it in the pores of the pad and was very dusty. the last time i used it (and i cleaned it like normal using APC) was on the winter wheels putting quick sealant and americana on. anyone have this happen to them?: and the clean up pics(sun went away of course lol):
  12. did a little needed spring cleaning on the truck. so much tar/road gunk/dirt on it from this past winter. still need to do the engine bay and interior but the outside is all washed/clayed/waxed and the summer wheels/tires are on. out with the winter setup: in with the summer setup:
  13. real men play in 2wd. you musta got lessons from mook:jester:
  14. figures as soon as you leave something happens. it can never happen when your around, thats to logical going to be a cool update though!
  15. yeah dont do the flares they dont look good on any of these trucks. there is one black truck that it goes well on but thats it. truck looks good. do you ahve the bilsteins set at 7 or 9 inches?
  16. my daily rinse with the waterhose to get the salt off. ill take a couple hard water spots over swirls and salt/rust accumulation.
