  1. Cool Adam. Since I won this contest a few years ago on the last car you sold, I will sit back and watch the fun... Good luck to everyone.
  2. Rex - you are on the right track. Although it would probably be fine, I might hold off on using any detail spray with wax additives (such as Adams Detail Spray V2) until you have allowed the new paint to fully cure. I recommend a sealant if the vehicle is a daily driver. Two coats of a sealant will be a good layer of protection and then you may add a coat of glaze and/or wax of your choice to boost the shine at your discretion.
  3. What method are you using? Two buckets and grit guards or Garry dean method? Adding a few swirls is the only downside to rinseless washing and no matter how careful you are they will slowly accumulate. You should be able to minimize them with the Garry Dean method and taking care when drying. The way I look at it you are going to correct your paint once or twice a year anyway and regular washing will do the same thing. I would rather be adding my minor swirls the easy way (rinseless) Keep in mind it could be your drying step or your final wipedown step or waterless washing that's inducing the damage, not just the rinseless.
  4. Double parked a minivan lol smh. And yes I know it's not a minivan...
  5. I agree they do lack in the sud retention department as compared to some other wash media. Since I use a foam gun (when I do two bucket washes), Im not as concerned with the suds as much as softness and durability.
  6. Very nice truck, congrats. And yes, those grills are enormous...
  7. Love the product as well - very easy to use and effective.
  8. That knobby mitt will not cause swirls (smh). Geez it's amazing what people say on here. Quality wash media and good technique will prevent swirls, whether it be wool, microfiber or foam. There's a simple reason why you would use a wool mitt on the top 1/2 of the car , it's because it's the most expensive and delicate wash media so you want to use it on the least soiled areas of the car. The other type mitts are more "disposable" so they get used on the lower halfs and dirty areas. There are some high quality knobby microfiber mitts out there. If Adams sold them, the two responses above would have been way different. Just my $0.02.
  9. A little tip, only fill them about 2/3rds full as they can be quite heavy when completely filled. I absolutely love them for waterless wash. Perfect amount of product laid down with just a few pulls.
  10. I have used them for a few years and they have their pros and cons. I only use them for products that are meant to fully saturate the surface, like waterless wash. I don't like them for lightly misting products (like detail spray) because a full spray lays down too much product for my liking. If you try a half spray, you lose the fine mist qualities and get an uneven spray pattern. However, they are built to last and work as advertised.
  11. Sounds like you dry rubbed clay on your paint until it started to stick, then threw away a perfectly good bar lol. Maybe it could have been a bad batch but I've never heard of that. Always use lots of lube while claying and never clay outside the area of the lube.
  12. I would say just add 2 ounces to your normal wash bucket. Don't worry about the ratio because I personally have never seen anyone fill the bucket completely full to the 5 gallon mark.
  13. Think about that one for a second. I'm confident the correct answer will become clear.
  14. A bit of advice, You would be much better off asking this question on a detailing forum that supports multiple polishers so that you get an unbiased opinion. IMO a little more vibration on something you will be using 3-4 times a year between both vehicles does not justify the premium. Also keep in mind its not just the cost of the machine (more than 2x), but with the Cyclo you will also buy twice the pads and use more polish. Just some real world facts to consider... You cant go wrong either way for what you are looking to accomplish, its just one option is more expensive. You decide if its justifed...
  15. You need a Griot's garage polisher or a PC. They are half the price of the Cyclo and come with a lifetime warranty as well. With 5" mf pads they will correct anything for the weekend warrior. You can still use the Adams pads and polishes if you wish.
  16. Perfectly normal. Adams is the only company I know of that recommends glaze over sealant.
