  1. For durability, no. For ease of use, yes. Go with a sealant if you are looking for durability.
  2. Make sure you arent using the delicate cylce on your HE machine, it doesnt have enough juice to rinse the towel completely of the detergent. Go easy care, medium load size, hot water, extra rinse cycle with spin. Dry on no/low heat. Good to go.
  3. To each is own. I was just letting you know how that is coming off in the eyes of both the educated and uneducated detailer. Now had you said something like, "You know I've never tried that "product X", but I recently switched to Adams and I love the results. It costs more than the product you used but I think its well worth it because of "blah blah blah". If your interested, I wouldnt mine shipping you a sample to try." You probably would have gotten a completely different response from the other guys. And I must admit I've never heard of anyone being called a girl for driving a 500HP Camaro. That must be a generational thing. Nice car btw.
  4. I wouldn't suggest someone doesn't care about their car's finish because they don't use Adams. You don't want to be that guy, trust me. And Adam himself would not suggest that either. Now are these products better than Turtle Wax? Most definitely yes. But there's probably a more tactful way to recommend Adams is all I am saying. BTW It doesn't surprise me that they didn't respond based on your approach.
  5. A car that has never been clayed before will definitely need to be washed after claying. A rinseless or waterless wash will suffice. The reason they left the residue on is because the vehicles in the old videos were practically spotless already and did not have a lot of contamination.
  6. Welcome Ryan. I think you will enjoy claying and the results you get. Clay after a thorough wash and remove the clay residue before moving to the next step. You can remove the residue in a multiple of ways - 1) remove it as you go with waterless wash, 2) rewash the car after claying, or my favorite method, 3) do a rinseless wash after claying. After removing the residue proceed to apply your favorite wax or sealant. You will be amazed what these three simple steps (wash, clay, seal) can do for a cars finish. Claying will require no more strength that what is required to wash or wax, same motion and pressure. Good luck and have fun with it.
  7. Pads go back in the plastic baggie they came in after each use. Towels are stored in plastic totes. Applicators are put in individual ziplock bags.
  8. I would say your lucky that they lasted three years. I barely got three washes. They now make excellent shelf liners on my detailing cart. And yes old towels will scratch.
  9. You must have very hard water or wash very slow or both. Always wash the shady side of the car first before even putting water on the sunny side.
  10. Yup I'd say so. Great job, even for a Bama fan.
  11. You should probably do a little research before spouting off. Surf City products are made in the USA...
  12. Actually he is staying in Colorado.
  13. Looks like he ended up accepting a similar position at Surf City Garage. Best of luck to Dylan, now we can all move on
  14. Lots of time and effort put in so I give you many props. The 20" ZL1 chrome replica wheels would look amazing on your car. And a 1" drop while you're at it...
  15. Oh I know that, but they wouldn't Back on topic, yet another surprising subtraction from the lineup...interesting to say the least.
  16. Lol. Oh my, if the detailing world (outside of Adams) saw this post they would have a field day.
  17. I'm using them right now to clean up the dirty parts of my boat trailer. Use them for engine bays, door and truck jambs, wheels etc. I would keep a pack I promise you will use them.
  18. 1 oz of APC per gallon of water. So usually 3... Like Mook says, if the LSP is quality and in tact, strip washing alone won't touch it. And that's a good thing... Claying or an IPA wipe down will finish it off. In a foam gun it's 32 oz of water, 3 oz APC and 3 oz soap.
  19. Double Soft - 1,400 gsm Single Soft - 600 gsm Waterless Wash - 360 gsm I would think the great white is the same. Note I have not been told these weights by Adams but I buy the exact same towels from another manufacturer who posts the towel weights and blends on their site.
