Stupid snow, stop dirtying my car!!!
Coderedpl replied to Coderedpl's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Everytime I look outside and see no snow on the ground, I think to myself, oh great, maybe i'll give it a quick wash......that is until i step foot outside. Winter sucks, can it be Spring already -
Stupid snow, stop dirtying my car!!!
Coderedpl posted a question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I was just sitting around and thinking about how dirty my car just from sitting in the driveway. The car was washed and dried, no landscaping was done around the property or anything, so you get just the regular street dust or whatever. Snow falls, then melts. I look at my car and its FILTHY, to the point where I wouldn't even want to do a rinseless or waterless. Anybody deal with the same? /rant -
Foaming a car after coating
Coderedpl replied to Coderedpl's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Oh I'm not worried i just thought it was a bit funny, here I am foaming a car and not much is happening lol Yea as much as I don't want to do it sometimes because all it does is run off, i still do it. Rather not risk the ruined finish -
I'm posting this more as a topic of discussion rather than a question but its something I've "noticed". After coating a car with either the ceramic or any sealant, the foam doesnt exactly want to stay on the car for long, makes me wonder if its even worth doing it sometimes. Anybody else feel the same?

So after picking up the wheel coating kit, doing my friends wheels, then mine, I figured ah hell, I'm going to do my bike and car with it! Bike is matte gray/black, and being over 2 years old now, it's got its scuffs and daily driver wounds so I figured the harder coating will protect it better. I'm not concerned about the hydrophobic properties as I try to avoid riding in the rain and it's not like I have that much to dry off after a wash. The car on the other hand I recently wrapped with 3m 1080 matte gray vinyl, and from it being a few weeks old I noticed some water spotting at times, the only thing I had applied was a sealant for matte finishes from another company, so I wanted to add protection to that as well. With all that said; So last night it rained, into the morning, on my way out to work, I was able to see the beading action on the car, and seems like a positive result to me. The application didn't really add much "shine" to either vehicle, if anything it made the matte 'texture' pop a bit more, but it was nothing that defeated the purpose of it being matte in the first place

Tire & Rubber Cleaner - Motorcycle tires
Coderedpl replied to Coderedpl's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
Off course, I actually rarely ever put tire shine on my tires, and whenever I go somewhere that I know I'll be driving hard, I make sure I clean the hell out of them making sure there is absolutely no dressing of any kind left over from anything -

Rotor Rust and Cleaning Between Washes
Coderedpl replied to ouhockeyplayer's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
There is a product that will prevent rust from forming after you wash, and it does work, friend of mine started it, but I'm not sure I'm allowed to post about it on the forum out in the open. -
Tire & Rubber Cleaner - Motorcycle tires
Coderedpl posted a question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
So I've been wanting to try out the tire and rubber cleaner on my bike, as the tires do have a tendency to get dirty and it's common sense not to use VRT or anything like that to make them look good SO here is the result of using the cleaner on both front and rear! Now onto to trying other products on it -
Introducing Adam's Ceramic Wheel Coating
Coderedpl replied to Joe@Adams's topic in Company Info/Announcements
Quick Q after doing some wheels. Are we suppose to expect the same "stickiness" after each application? I did one set of wheels and have found them to be a bit grippy until I sprayed some ceramic boost, but on the other hand, when I did my own personal wheels, satin finish, even though I know for 100% they were coated, didnt feel the same way but rather. similar to as they did before. -
That's pretty damn good! Maybe I'll look into the kit for myself now, just sucks that I would only need it for 1 application. Anyone know if you can use the kit to sand down on some of the rock chips on headlights or is it more for hazing? Thank you for asking, I'm totally fine, absolutely nothing happened to me.
-
Hmm, not a fan of wet sanding but might just have to suck it up and do it. Paint got touched a bit too, you can see a bit on the pics but luckily not as bad as it could have been.

So I had a bit of an incident which resulted in my headlight getting scuffed on my bike today. Now I tried to get the scuffs taken care of via white/orange microfiber pads, on a drill, and I got quite a bit of an improvement, but it seems like i reached a level where I'm not getting much more done. Any ideas?

Damn, I remember when I ran over a skunk, Adams stuff wasn't out yet so I stuck with other alternatives, but it was more of a pressure washing effort than anything else. Had to do the undercarriage more than once , spraying it down with all purpose cleaners and whatever else I can find nearby....fun times

I'll be there, see you guys there =)

It's been a while since I posted, i browse around more often than I post First things first, fingers crossed for Adams new odor neutralizer as I ended up using half of a 16 oz bottle in one shot, on one car today. My wife's car has had this weird interior smell for some time now, and I haven't exactly figured out "why/how". So today, I did a good cleaning of the interior, did a thorough vacuum using my Ridgid, then wiped down, using a combination of the Leather & Interior Cleaner as-well as the interior detailer. I used the LIC primarily for the seats and steering wheel, and the TID for the rest, such as dash, doors and other plastics in the car. Changed out to a new cabin filter, and sprayed the living hell out of the entire car with the Odor Neutralizer. The leather conditioner will come tomorrow or Thursday. Seriously hoping this gets rid of the funkiness. On another side-note; I think i might of potentially ruined my yellow carpet brush. I'm now a proud owner of a Siberian Husky puppy, so with that comes a lot of work, including house breaking. She ended up having an accident on the carpet, so i figured, ah i have the carpet and upholstery cleaner and the carpet brush!!! So i ended up using it on my household carpet, but what i did not realize is that all the fibers from the thicker carpet got stuck in the brush itself, so when i went to use it on my wifes car today, some of those fibers started to come out onto the carpet Tried picking at them a little bit but there is only so much you can grab between the bristles and the vacuum doesn't seem to pickup much.... Might be time to get another one =/

Who still has/uses SHR among others?
Coderedpl posted a question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I still remember when it all used to be a 3 step process, and after re-organizing my supplies a bit I found that I still have the SHR and the other stuff. How does it all fall into the newest collection? Anybody still use it? -
Dusty before detail?
Coderedpl replied to Coderedpl's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Just to update, the dusting was primarily situated on the front of the car. I got most of it off using the sidekick but it still needs a waterless wash wipe down. Not worried about it getting in the cracks and such as the wasn't standing in a shop getting filled with the dust, i was doing some minor work in front of the car by hand. -
So just looking to get some opinions from you guys. I've washed my car about 2-3 weeks ago in preparation for a full paint correction session. Due to lack of time I haven't exactly gotten around to it but planning on soon. In that time the car got some dusting on it, some of which is just plain dirt and another from when I did some bondo sanding work outside the garage and it blew in. So, the way I see it I have a few possible options: 1. Sidekick - try and blow everything off. 2. A quick waterless wash wipe down, scratches don't matter as its getting detailed. 3. Quick water rinse down and pull back inside for correction.... What would YOU do?
