  1. Detail spray and clay bar, it will pull all the brake dust off without scratching. Or All purpose cleaner/green wheel cleaner and the boars hair brush, its really quick and easy. For the corrosion use quick sealant
  2. The pads wear out quickly on the side, as it's not a rotary buffer. I would recommend this kit for the side skirts then Adam's FOCUS 4" Complete Polishing Pad Kit for Porter Cable Polishers
  3. Did you polish the whole car one step at a time, or do a panel remove the pad finish with the next polishing steps and go on to the next panel?
  4. A plastic filter media filter will remove a large quantily of the problem mineral, just get a 5micron or smaller nominal pore size. There are multiple companys you can send a water sample for full analysis of common minerals in water.
  5. If you have 2 or 3 utility towels I usually clean with one, then get the other damp and wipe down after the cleaner. Once the damp cloth apply the leather and interior conditioner. Also clean with the doors open and spray the towel outside the car, unless you have to spray and brush then give it some extra time to air out a box fan works great.
  6. The other problem with selling a concentrate is what quality of water the end consumer uses, water quality varies greatly and can have adverse effects (could cause water spots if its high in dissolved minerals). While concentrates for soaps and cleaners are great because Chemists can add chemicals to fix those minerals from preventing adverse interactions towards a soaps ability to clean, but the detail spray is not something that is rinsed off and that could cause a build up of minerals on your paint. Might be over thinking this, but thats what I get for having degree in Chemistry
  7. Slowly as well, at least that always helps me remove the pads. If you just grab and go to rip off quickly like a bandaid most likely the backin will stay but not the foam
  8. Spray a little APC on a utility towel and rub the area, easiest way to prevent that is use the SVRT before polishing or waxing then it wipes right off with a microfiber
  9. I just did a quick machine polish in ~45F def needed more detail spray to keep the polish workable, also kept the pad from clogging
  10. This exactly. Even some of the more expensive towels at big box and auto parts stores do this with a price point a few dollars cheaper than adams towels. I was a little sceptical at first as well, then I felt one it didnt grab my dry rough hands and was like oh my goodness I need these NOW
  11. And this is why I'll probably be a life time customer, the employees care about the customer and helping them out:rockon:
  12. It takes time, everyone is different and works at different speeds. Practice makes perfect you'll eventually get it down. I can knock out a wash, DS, dry, and a interior cleaning in about an hour on my Cobalt (granted much smaller than a truck)
  13. Well it basically comes down to the question Adam asked me before I bought my flex, if you are buying a polisher to do 1 or 2 cars get the PC, if you are buying a polisher to do more than 2 cars get the flex. And also the question of how much is your time worth, the flex is faster but costs more, the PC is cheaper but is slower
  14. I was just giving Mook a hard time, there are other threads ppl start with their tips and tricks, having a specific thread for the Adam's employees to post up tips is awesome, these guys detail cars all day everyday (I was just there last friday and Mook was busy polishing a car)
  15. Maybe Mook should change the title of the thread to "Warehouse tip of the Quarter"
  16. My recommendation is to get the flex, I personally havent used the Rupes, but I tested both the Flex and PC at Adams (love living around the corner from them) under the guidance of Mook, the Flex doesnt require the force down and actually i've found that less force produces better results as well as a less tired person. But to end the thread jack, very nice review. Maybe next a side by side time to correct of the Rupes and Flex?
  17. If you're not in the sun dont worry about drying the car, just give it a quick spray down with DS, then clay and use DS as you go they clay will tell you when you need more DS
  18. I had a sprayer crap out on me (leaked with every squeeze) from hanging like you guys do at adams (off the detail cart) granted my was from a milk crate or my back pocket. I like the idea of being able to let the weight and pressure of the bottle rest on the bottle instead of the sprayer handle
  19. I've found a utility towel with one quick spray of leather and interior cleaner takes care of dash dust, and if you've already treated the dash with leather and interior conditioner just the utility towel will remove the dust
  20. Its to bad more companies don't have the customer service that Adams has. But at least they are U.S.A. made. Personally I never cared for the Maglite Flashlights until they came out with their LED line, which the 2D version is like a spot light in your hand (which also basically you'll never have to replace the LED bulb).
  21. Well the waterless wash will take care of dust after sitting in the garage, brushes create scratches.
