  1. I got certified back in college (about 15 years ago) and did a bit of diving when I lived in Hawaii in the early 90s. But I haven't gone diving in about 10 years. Someday I'll get back in the water.
  2. Keeping the good stuff under Lock & Key... now that's another great idea...
  3. Please, guys, at least keep the Adam's stuff in a nicer cabinet... I mean really -- plywood? Have some respect. :D:D
  4. They can give it a wilder car and they can shoot it in HD, but the acting still absolutely blows... Then again, the other day I caught an old A-Team re-run and I couldn't believe how lame that was. But when I was 10 it seemed pretty cool. So NR is a hit with the Transformers crowd... who knows? I think Adam's Forums is way more entertaining!
  5. A little detail spray and that thing will look good as new...
  6. Yea, I saw your before-and-after pics of that -- great work. I bet your detailing work raised the value of that thing!
  7. Sorry to disappoint you... But I was thinking let's see some pics of your cars and trucks before they get the Adam's love... here's my Vette after an 880 mile drive from Maryland to Florida. Hit some good rain for about 200 miles, and the wheels were caked with brake dust. One of my winter projects is going to be to take the wheels off and really get the summer's hard usage cleaned off of her... wheels, wheel wells, engine, etc.
  8. Are you guys thinking of some kind of raffle that runs for the first month that the forum is official and live? Like everyone pays a buck per chance at winning some big detail kit or something? (and maybe any overage in profit goes to a charity of Adam's choosing?). I'd think it would be easy to set up a papal address where contestants could "buy" chances. I'm just thinking out loud here and have no idea on the feasibility or logistics of something like this... Jason is the brains behind the promotions. Rich
  9. Aw, shucks, thanks for the compliments on the icons, everyone.
  10. My bad... all the baby pics were blending together!
  11. Sweet Chevy. I like that blacked-out bowtie on the front. Rich
  12. Man, that Luca is a photogenic little thing! That pic of her in the box is certain to become a family classic.
  13. Funny, your story takes me right back to being an 11-year old kid living in northern California (Walnut Creek). Only for me it was Mongoose BMX bikes; trying to take them apart, make them better, replacing the coaster brakes with free-wheel axles and caliper brakes, etc. I must have spent 1000 after-shcool hours there in the side yard, next to the garage, tinkering with bikes and loving every minute. Now it's a Vette in the garage and the free time is harder to come by, but when I've got the car up on jackstands and my hands covered with grease, I'm still that little kid loving the process of taking things apart and trying to make them just a little bit better. Thanks for the post -- it's great to learn about that side of you. Rich
  14. That's what I call it when my wife asks. In reality my days are spent watching The View, Oprah, talking to the cat and hoping that Adam's calls needing another web banner... :D:D
  15. Hi, and here's a welcome from the other side of the Beltway! Rich
  16. Graphic design and marketing services.
  17. Welcome to the forum. That's a sweet looking truck... great color.
  18. I love the waffle towel... I use one of those "california wiping blades" to get the big water off the car and then a quick once-around the car with the waffle towel gets every remaining drop... and it's still dry enough to give the glass one last rubbing down to prevent water spots. I treat my waffle towel like gold... it NEVER touches the ground, a dusty workbench, or any other surface that might get it dirty.
  19. My $.02 is that the 16 oz bottle is a good size. A bigger, full bottle might get to be a little heavy and unwieldy when doing things like clay bar. Go ahead, call me a weakling...
  20. My favorite two lines by Mark Twain: "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." and "It is easier to stay out than get out."
