By no means am I am expert...but, wouldn't paint burn be feathered at the edges and not so localized? Even with pad failure, wouldnt it be hard to damage the paint with the PC? Unless of course the backing plate caused the damage.

Like pretty much everyone here...I get the same thing. I just have one question...if I am not bothering anyone...why do they care what I am doing?

No problem. I agree...I dont think a low battery would cause that...but you never know. By the way, you should look into the iaqualink system. The LCD on my one-touch is all but unreadable. It is so dim, I need a flashlight to read it. So, I got the iaqualink. Now I can control everything on my system with my iphone (free app) or by logging on to the iaqualink website. It is pretty cheap too. Just thought I would throw it out there. If you look into it, make sure the software version you are running will support it.

I have the same system. I have never seen backwards text! The only thing I would suggest is a complete system shutdown (remove all power to the system...ie turn off all CBs in the panel) and reboot. The system does go through a verification and system status check upon reboot...so, I am guessing this will fix it. Let me know how it turns out!
