I'm pretty bummed...placed my order Monday and still has not shipped as of today. I was looking forward to having my stuff for the weekend. I get the snow storm...but, it seems like Adam's would prepare for the increased orders when having a sale. Still love Adam's (have for a few years now)...but I am a little disappointed. Just my $0.02.

Just wanted to add my $0.02. I have been using a towel for a while now. I love it! I haven't had any problems with marring. I use a lot of lube and very little pressure. I can decon my car (Lexus IS) in about 30 minutes. To be fair, my car is white...which is more forgiving than darker colors. But, I did use it on my friend's red Tesla and had no issues either. As with anything else...it is about technique. As an aside, I use concentrated lubricant when I decon...it wouldn't be cost effective for me to use Adam's Detail Spray...I save the pink stuff for my last step after washing. Scott

If air-fresheners were an option...
scociny replied to Team Adam's's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
New Car Leather Macintosh Apple Grape I think this is a great idea. However, I wouldn't want a product that last a couple of hours. From Adam's, I would expect a professional product that eliminated odors and left a pleasant scent lasting for at least a week.- 119 replies

A few questions about procedures.
scociny replied to LaserBlueSilverado's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
1. I wash all my microfiber towels in the washer. Short cycle, double rinse, regular detergent, NO FABRIC SOFTENER! I use a little vinegar in place of the softener. They come out perfect every time. I got tired of hand washing 2. I only use the blue applicator for leather conditioner. 3. I have had the same can of Americana for 2 years...no problem. 4. See answer 1. -
Best wax for white van?
scociny replied to speeddeacon's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
My wife has a silver Ody. Trust me...after washing, claying, polishing and waxing...you are going to be toast!! I would definitely recommend sealant over Americana. Americana is great, but you want LONG TERM protection on the van...you don't want to wax it anymore than you have to! -
Great White Drying Towel life span?
scociny replied to Rains's question in Towels, Brushes, & Accessories
I have had several for 2 years now...I think they work as well as the day I got them. I don't plan to get rid of them until they tear or are NOTICEABLY rougher than new. They are really good towels. I used an absorber since the 80s and never thought I would be able to dry with a "towel." But, this is one thirsty towel! -

If all businesses conducted themselves in this manner...the world would be a better place. -
SVRT; anychanges coming in near future?
scociny replied to STex's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
Not that I have heard. I know they discontinued all 36 oz bottles...I think that is why it is on sale. SVRT is great stuff. -
Clay Bar Lubrication
scociny replied to 07stanggt's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
+2 I love detail spray...but it is too expensive for me to use as a clay lube. There are many good alternatives. I save my detail spray for the last step after washing. Just my $0.02. -
How good are the towels?
scociny replied to IowaEmt1991's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I agree. I don't like the blue towels as much as I like single softs. I think the weight of the single soft is heavier (thicker) than the blue. It would be great if they could lose the border on single softs...but, they are great towels even with the border. BTW: I don't want to start any rumors about Adam's not carrying the single softs anymore...I was only speculating! -
How good are the towels?
scociny replied to IowaEmt1991's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Well, the single softs haven't been in stock for a long time and they just came out with the blue borderless. Why would they need single softs AND the blue towels. I don't know anything for sure...just my thought. -
Received my first-ever ADAM's order!
scociny replied to ADL's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Love your car. Seeing it takes me back to High School (class of '89). The 5 liter GT was a very popular car. Welcome to the Adam's family. -
How good are the towels?
scociny replied to IowaEmt1991's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I personally love the single softs...but, I don't know if Adam's is going to continue to carry them. I have the blue ones too. They are nice towels...but, I like the single softs better. In general, I think Adam's towels are awesome. The Great White in particular is a spectacular towel. -
The biggest thing I learned is that you need to spend all day washing and "polishing" not washing and "waxing." Watch the videos about washing, decontaminating, and polishing. Waxing is the easy part. Good luck!

My Review of Adam's Rinseless Wash
scociny replied to Gen9Rolla's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Dylan, Thanks for the reply. I am an avid user of Adam's products and I constantly recommend your products to coworkers and friends. I do so because of the things you mentioned: quality, customer service, made in the USA...and the list goes on. I have been a passionate detailer since the late 80s and the products you sell are the best I have ever used. EVERYTHING I have used (from Adam's) has been CLEARLY superior in quality when compared to other products. When you factor in your guarantee and customer service...it is no contest. I guess that is why I am surprised to see the reviews of rinseless only being marginally better than other products. I suppose I will have to get a bottle and judge for myself. Lastly, I hope you didn't take offense to my post...I certainly didn't mean any harm. I am relatively active in the forum and I love your products, so obviously I think your products demand a higher price. You have helped me many times over the past several years...I don't want you mad at me! -
My Review of Adam's Rinseless Wash
scociny replied to Gen9Rolla's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
This is pretty much what I took from Justin's review. Does this assessment justify double the cost for Adam's rinseless? I know the dilution ratio for Adam's is 2 oz to 5 gal and ONR is 1 oz to 2 gal...but when the price is double, the difference in dilution is lost. 9.9 times out of 10, the higher price for Adam's products is WELL worth it. But, if the rinseless is on par or only slightly better than competitors...is it worth it? For those that have used it...convince me! -
My Review of Adam's Rinseless Wash
scociny replied to Gen9Rolla's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Although the topic strayed a little...I agree with previous comments regarding clay lube. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Adam's Detail Spray...especially for its native intended use (as a detail spray). But, for clay lube...I think it is just not cost effective. When it is time for me to break out the clay bar, I look to more cost efficient lubes. -
Adams Service???
scociny replied to bobfred44's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Live chat with Ashley doesn't exist anymore?? Bummer. -
The experts will soon chime in...but, my first thought is a clay bar.
-
That would be pretty cool...but they don't lock. They just sit freely in the bottom (I have the older small sized bucket).
-
Correct, it doesn't go all the way down and that is why I like it. I can wedge it down so it doesn't spin. To me, the grit guard is much more effective when it doesn't spin.
-
I use a 5 gal bucket from a home improvement store. The grit guard is too big for it, but it slides down to almost the bottom. If you push it down snug...it won't move and is still easy to get out.

Washing a White car
scociny replied to PHILLIE PHANATIC's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
This sounds like it started out as a joke and someone took it and ran with it as truth. Do yourself a favor and wash your car with Adam's shampoo. -
