  1. I have had a dewalt cordless drill for a long time...and it is awesome (I have the 18V). You can't go wrong with dewalt. However, I helped a buddy with a project once and used his Milwaukee...that thing rocked! Which is better? Tough call. I would pick one based on how it feels in your hand...and of course price.
  2. The first step would be a thorough 2 bucket (strip) wash, then usually claying with lots of lubricant. Then you usually move right into polishing (although some re-wash). If you are doing all this in the same time frame (at least the same day), under most circumstances you should have pretty clean paint at this point...there should be very little to no dust on the paint. So, after polishing if you gently do an IPA wipe-down with a clean, soft Adam's single or double soft MF towel...I would think it would be pretty hard to scratch the paint. I think if you have clean paint (no dust or dirt) you are pretty safe in gently wiping with a quality Adam's MF, whether it be an IPA, with detail spray, or waterless. Am I thinking correctly?
  3. I am glad I didn't find that sign somewhere...because they could have charged me a fortune for it! Awesome!

    Great News

Dave...congrats to you and your wife on the promotion. SMSgt at 16 years is truly an accomplishment! I am a 23 year prior enlisted Capt (15 years prior E), so I know how hard she had to work to make Senior. I wish her all the best with making Chief. BTW...I wish I had kids back when I was enlisted and getting promoted...somehow the biggest guys in the squadron always tacked my stripes on! Best of luck on getting to the Pentagon...I am sure a Pentagon tour will be a stepping stone to Chief. Scott
  5. As a 23 year Air Force veteran, I truly hope we as a nation never become lulled into treating those wounded or killed in action as mere statistics. They are mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. Every time I put on my uniform...I think about all my fallen brothers and sisters. Aside from great products, I am a proud patron of Adam's because of their conscious decision to look out for and recognize our nation's military. Thanks Adam...I for one am truly humbled by how you and your company appreciate us. Scott
  6. I agree...I didn't understand your math either. If I am not mistaken the hoses are $20 or so. The warranty alone is enough to make me buy Adam's. As an aside, Metro makes an awesome vac!
  7. I echo the previous posts. I would buy the largest kit you can afford. I started small, loved the products, then started acquiring everything else. I would have came out cheaper to just buy a large kit in the beginning. I suppose its tough to spend that much money without having used the products before. With almost 100% certainty, most avid Adam's users on this forum wish they had just went big in the beginning.
  8. Sounds good. Thanks for all the help. I can't stress enough what a great product this is. If you are on the fence about it...I would just pull the trigger. This thing is crucial to drying all the cracks, crevices, door jambs, tires, wheels, etc. It is very powerful...it even blew off one of the rubber gaskets under my hood! Thanks again for the help.
  9. I have had my sidekick for a little while now...used it twice. I have to say it is a great little tool. The first time I turned it on, I could not believe how much air it moves! Drying the wheels and tires is now fun! I have a quick question for other sidekick owners. While I was using it, I noticed there was a lot of airflow around the body where the upper and lower halves are screwed together. I am not sure if that is normal, or the screws need to be tightened...or if I have a defective unit. Again...awesome product, I just want to make sure mine is performing 100% as it was intended.
  10. I cut APC 50/50 with water. I can tell you it is still pretty strong and very effective. When I spray the wheel wells and tires, it sometimes makes me cough b/c it is so strong (at 50%). I would at least give dilution a shot. I do have foaming sprayers, but I haven't tried them yet.
  11. The glass cleaner is indeed a great product. It took me a while to learn how to use it...at first, I was using too much and wiping the towel back and forth (as you would use windex). After reading a couple of threads, I learned to use much less product and use the towel as sort of a squeegee (much like you would wipe off waterless wash). After I perfected my technique...the glass in my car disappeared.
  12. As a father of 3 small boys (1 in Pre-K, 1 in 2nd grade, and a 1 year old), I can't imagine what those parents are going through. Unfortunately, things like this really put things into perspective. I know I will say an extra special goodnight to my kids tonight.
