  1. Well i would rather not just cover it up, I'm gonna read up on wet sanding. Is it something I should be able to handle.
  2. These are the scratches. They are light, but they catch on my finger nail ever so slightly. It looks as if a the car was rubbed on by branch or plant. And this is on the door handle. There are more pictures of the scratches when you click on the thumbnails to enlarge the pictures if these dont suffice. Excuse the dirty car and iphone pictures. I bought the car used, and these were on it. They are the only defects in the paint.
  3. Alright guys. Im polishing my car again soon, and I have had a scratch that goes along my fender above my front right wheel. When i polished last time, the scratch looked much better but as time progressed it started to look worse (not as bad as before polishing) Im aware I can't polish this out, but are there any other options besides wet sanding. I don`t feel comfortable sanding my car, im not familiar with the process and don`t want to make it look worse than it already does. Any ideas or thoughts on what to do? Thanks for the replies C.J.
  4. Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna try to do it next weekemd
  5. What's up guys? Recently it was my birthday and decided to treat myself and finish up my collection of nessecary detailing items. I got another grit gaurd, a few microfibers and some other goodies. So I decided to polish my car again. This will be the 2nd time now, and I have been practicing my form and weight I apply so I can get to my level of perfection. This is my list of what I need to do. Strip wash(dawn or APC) Clay bar Baggie test Test area on good until perfect. Then first step of whatever I need to polish. Etc... IPA wipe down to remove, polish. Check for defects Wax. Do I need to do an IPA wipe after polishing? Last time I polished and waxed I had what looked like holograms in the paint. From what I understand this can happen from a build up of polish under the wax. Thanks for all replies. CJ
  6. On the back of the SHR bottle it actually says to leave the residue on when applying FMP after. I kinda find this personal preference. I have tried both way and found that wiping away SHR residue allows you to see the FMP flash easier.
  7. Yes. You can use waterless wash before moving onto the polishing process or detail spray, its preference. Quick tip: remember to do a test area when you polish your car.
  8. Good luck! Looks like you have already got a good bit done. Just take you time and enjoy it.
