  1. To answer a few questions... My garage is insulated for the most part. I wish I could have bought "Made in USA" (Adam has me making the right choice 90% of the time) but I couldn't find a product I could afford that accomblished what this one does / it blows warm air with a lot of air flow so nothing really gets super hot yet the whole garage gets warm (12 x 22) I do leave it and forget it. I've found the perfect setting to keep the garage around 50 degrees (20 outside) and turn it up when I want to be in there. Cost will vary with cost of kilowatt hrs and how long this runs. I'll find out next month when the bill comes. Warm garage...priceless!
  2. I finally had a moment to start the detail on my 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo. The car is in mint condition though has never had more than a dozen washes in the six years I've owned it (never gets driven...don't ask me why). Car has fine swirl marks most likely from previous washings from previous owner. It's the first single stage paint I've polished and everything I've read is true. Softer paint Paint transfers to the pads Unbelievable depth of shine when done My routine: Waterless Wash to get off the dust from the cover Clayed with Detail Spray I used the PC with 4" orange pad / orange Haze and Swirl Remover (old stuff) Then onto the 4" white pad / white final polish (again old stuff) Note: I do have new as well Brillant Glaze Buttery Wax WOW!!! The picture dosn't do it justice but again so happy with Adam's Products. I was only able to do the front left fender today (hour therapy session) but by spring the car should be looking good...LOL I'll keep everyone posted.
  3. Every winter I've been moving my Adam's Products out of the cold garage and into a warm basement. This year I bought a heater to keep my car and products nice and cozy... http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Infrared-Heater-DR988-Industrial/dp/B003XOZN7A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416704227&sr=8-1&keywords=garage+heater Made in China...I'm sorry. But I'm happy keeping my American made products from freezing. I'm also loving the ability to do some detailing inside this year.
  4. Thank you all for your input. I too have been claying for a few years and until yesterday always used Detail Spray. I saw a video of someone somewhere claying as part of his wash routine and thought I would give it a try... I wasn't worried about contaminates since the car had already been washed before claying. I was concerned about the slipperiness of the soap suds...definitely feels different than claying with detail spray. I did the baggy test after the first wash before using the Deep Wheel Cleaner mix and the paint was rough as I ever felt. After spraying the 50/50 mix I saw only little iron discoloration. After the claying and final wash (using the baggy test again) the paint felt smooth as silk. Using soap suds as the clay lubricant seems to have worked fine, personal preference I guess. I may or may not repeat this process. Really depends on the circumstance. All I know is “I love Adams Products”.
  5. I wish I would have taken some pictures along the way but today I did a full detail on my wife's 2014 XC90 and it came out fantastic thanks to Adam's products !!! Guess I just wanted to share... This was how it went: 1. Power Washed wheels/tires to remove most of the loose dirt 2. APC on tires & wheel wells / Green Wheel Cleaner on wheels - various brushes and rinsed 3. Power Washed car exterior to again remove loose dirt 4. Sprayed with Foam Cannon (4oz Adams Wash / 4oz APC) - 2 bucket wash 5. Rinsed & Dried with SideKick and Waffle 6. Sprayed exterior with 50/50 mix of Deep Wheel Cleaner & Distilled water (car is silver) to remove iron 7. Sprayed again with Foam Cannon (4oz Adams Wash / 4oz APC) - another 2 bucket wash 8. Clayed car using soap suds as lubricant 9. Rinsed & Dried with SideKick and Waffle 10.Polished hood and both front fenders using PC with "old" white polish and pad 11. Sealed entire car with Liquid Paint Sealant using PC and Black pad 12. After an hour, applied a layer of Brillant Glaze to hood and front fenders 13. Applied Buttery Wax to full exterior with PC 14. Finished trim and tires with VRT 15. Applied Quick Sealant to Wheels Absolutely Marvelous!!!
  6. Rich, Thanks for the input. I guess I was just being overly cautious with the wife's new car (if it was my Aunt's wouldn't have skipped a beat). Anyway, I did as you suggested and the leather seats came out perfect. They look as they did (brand new) yet I know they are being protected. Happy Happy!!!
  7. Thanks for the input... one more thing, the color is very light beige. Will the leather conditioner darken it at all?
  8. Some Help Please... I just picked up a new 2014 Volvo XC90 for my wife to replace her older 2006. This new model has "Sovereign Leather" which feels much softer than the older model's leather seats. I want to keep that new look without any shine but also want to protect the seats the best I can. I'm thinking just using Total Detailer for everything? Is Sovereign Leather a more "natural" leather? Doe it require a different care? Briefly looking at the manual, it says to just use a mild soap and water? Thanks to all.
  9. I Absolutely Love the Flex! It's a shame Adam's dosn't sell them anymore though I agree 100% with the reasoning.
  10. THANK YOU CHASE & FRANK! Just the information I needed to make my choice for now. Flex it is and down the road I'll look at the Rupes for more specific needs. I love all the help this Forum brings to the table. Thanks again.
  11. Chase, I respect your opinion. I prefer the feel of a Ferrari over a Chevy, would like to own both but I can only afford one. Which polisher would you recommend (coming up from a PC) for more applications also considering this pad life issue? Not a pro but lots of family and friends.
  12. ummm...I am old and I used to be into bikes, BINGO! Back in the day I raced motocross and my bikes looked brand new everytime I lined up at the gate... and smelled lemony fresh. LOL S100 and Lemon Pledge were my products of choice back then. The pledge works wonders on the flexible plastics used on dirt bikes. I went through quite a lot of Lemon Pledge from 1988-2002 (years I raced) but in all that time, I never even thought to try it on my car. Streetbike? maybe... LOL Thank goodness for Adam coming along.
  13. Thanks guys for your input. I mainly want to have the glass as visibly clear as possible. I was hoping some "polishing" might "correct" some road sand blasting my windshield has succumbed to in 10 years of driving. I'll try what I have and see. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  14. I know Griot's makes a product promoted as just a windshield polish with a specific pad to use with an orbital polisher... less foam to make the pad stronger for the harder surface. Since I've already learned my lesson about straying from Adam... what should I use (as far as Adam's polish/pad to use on my windshield with my PC7424? I've already cleaned and clayed but it's an older car and still think it needs "some more". Thanks in advance. P.S. I stil have some of the older severe/swirl&haze/final polishes left over that I would like to use up.
  15. Great job(s) Chase...really looks good! What kind of steam cleaning are you using, some of the seat restores are unbelievable.
  16. Anyone use this and can give a review? Tornado Black Z-020 Wondering how it would work with some Adam's Interior Cleaner in it...
  17. I have and they keep telling me to upgrade my turbo... no one will get close enough to see my molding. LOL
  18. Chris, Shiny in as new looking not "wrong zipcode" as Adam would say...LOL The rubber is in pretty good shape but after I cleaned it with APC (lots of dirt on towel)it now has a very dull look. Just trying to get it more fresh rubber looking. Thanks though for the input.
  19. Any other input? Still looking to nail down something to "revive" my moldings. What is "live" rubber seals? I heard that term used and don't know if my rubber is that or not...
  20. I have 2- 8' 4 bulb fixtures and 2- 4' 2 bulb fixtures in a single car garage. Pleanty of light but the bulbs are getting tired and I want to replace them. Is there any one particular color (cool white, soft white, natural...ect) that works better for detailing? Thanks.
  21. Tom, I appreciate yours and everyone else's "opinion". I was talking for the wheels only but still informative...
