  1. small amount of APC on MF wipe off culprit, do your taping and re-VRT when all done That's what I would think...but what do I know? LOL
  2. What he said! Thanks. Great write-up and enjoyable pictures.
  3. Thanks for the input Dylan... Not living though? I swear she smiles sometimes when over 100.
  4. Darryl...thanks. Let me pick your brain some more since you have experience with the older Porsche paints... I read or someone mentioned after polishing to use a glaze like 3M because of the oils in it to "moisturize" the paint. Any truth to that and is the Adam's Glaze also "oil" possessing if indeed needed?
  5. HELP... I have a 1987 72,000 mile Guards Red 951 in near mint condition. The only flaws I can see in the original paint are light "feather" scratches (tried to capture in pictures). I'm a big fan of Adam's Polishes and have been "practicing" my porter cable detailing skills on various clear coated vehicles to the point that I am finally ready to tackle my single stage garage queen. I'm still unsure (soft single stage paint) so any advice as to what products and steps to take would be appreciated. My thoughts... Start with 2 bucket wash (to remove cover dust) I know pitiful. Clay entire car 2 bucket wash again to remove clay residue if any Adam's Fine machine polish (least aggressive) with Uber final polish pad (smaller diameter 5.5" than Adam's and flat not textured...again less aggressive? Either 3M hand glaze or Adam's Brillant Glaze followed by Americana Carnuba wax. Advise?
  6. First time on the computer since Hurricane Sandy hit NJ. I lost my electric and heat, been working 18 hour days trying to restore others (I work for a utility company) and have been generally miserable. I love Adam's daily specials and although I know it's like rubbing salt into a wound...what were the specials I've missed in my 10 day hell?
  7. I already introduced myself as an addict, but this morning's exchange with my wife prompted me to think of this fun thread that I'm sure many of you can add to. Mid morning routine getting ready to drive the kids to school: Wife: Are you their biggest customer? (I knew right away what she was referring to... I had just received my latest "daily special" purchase still sitting by the front door) Me: They run these specials that are hard to pass up. Wife: How much "wax" do you need? Me: It's therapy for me. Wife: I think you're over-medicated. It's now 3 hrs. later and I'm still grinning...maybe she's right.
  8. Just an update: I have no money (I'm thinking of somehow claiming Adam on this year's tax return) so I've been keeping my eyes open on craig's list for a power washer as a alternative for buying new. I found a Craftsman 2600 PSI 2.4 gpm in very good shape other than a leaking pump...for $50 bucks. Just finished ordering a bunch of parts including the foam cannon and a new pump. I'm figuring for under $200 I'll be all set. Pictures to follow...
  9. Michael, I like your idea because of convenience but from the research I've done (I research waaayyy too much), people have said warm water works best with foaming...any experience with using warm vs cold?
  10. Having placed my latest "daily special" order with flat rate shipping I had a realization...it's time to call Dr Drew! Hi, my name is Kurt and I'm an addict...
  11. It would have been nice of the seller to state it was not a "new" kit...but an older unused kit. IMHO
  12. GOOD ANSWER. Thanks! I always like to support Adam's, love all the products and was hoping the shampoo produced as much foam as I've seen from other products.
  13. As I continue to feed my addiction... I recently purchased a pressure washer (and just ordered a foam cannon) to be incorporated into my wash routine. Sequence of wash as I see it... Foam car Rinse car Perform 2 bucket wash Of course I will be using Adam's Shampoo for my 2 bucket wash! My question is, should I use it in the foam cannon as well or is there a better "foaming" product that would work better for this application?
  14. Better late then never... Happy Birthday!
  15. I spent 8+ hours this Saturday polishing silver candlesticks and teapots (after my wife volunteered me) for a mother/daughter tea at my kids school today. It took all I had to resist trying out the sealant on the finished product (thinking it might save me from a future chore). Unfortunately, by the time I was done I didn't feel like taking any chances... I betcha it would work.
  16. Glad you brought this up... I too will have to call Ashley.
  17. Took a picture for my "Detailer's Corner" thread, boxed my stuff and moved it inside (basement). I'll try and work out my heating issue but until then I don't want to risk my supplies. I work in my garage often and have a propane radiant heater that after 15 minutes will have me working in my T-shirt on the coldest of days...I'll hate not having my Adam's within reach.
  18. Update: More Adam's Products, made a bracket and hung the PC...more to come (Wish List: power washer, foam gun, more and more Adam's Products) but getting there. Hate to move it all into the basement...LOL (other thread)
  19. Thanks Chris and everyone else. I'll let everyone know which direction I took.
  20. Thank you all for your input. In the summer, as long as I don't keep the door open too long, my garage stays comfortable even on hot days. The suggested heat options are a bit out of my price range so it looks like I'll be storing them inside if I can't think of a safe/inexpensive heat source.
  21. I can't believe it's already approaching mid October...damn. Here's my issue: The nights are starting to get pretty cold here in NJ and I don't want my Adam's collection to be compromised in any way by the cold. My garage is attached but will still dip close to freezing on a cold winter night. I was thinking of a buying a small heater to keep the temperatures around 50 degrees. Any suggestions? (Otherwise I'll have to move product inside where it's less admired.) LOL
  22. Should I conclude then...Like the fairy tale goes... "This porridge is too hot!" 3000psi "This porridge is too cold!" 1400psi "This porridge is just right!" 2600psi ???
