Which polish???

Blair1955

Question

How do I decide which hand polish to use? I will be using it on a gray 09 Pontiac G8 GT. the car has never been polished before and has less than 10k on her. It is garage kept and I keep a coat of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><st1:City><st1:place>Americana</st1:place></st1:City> or Buttery wax on it. oh and yea I plan on claying the car first. Thanks……

Thanks all for the replies, one more question should I have a clay bar for each car?

You don't need one for each car, but having more than one clay bar isn't a bad idea. Depending on how bad the paint is, you should be able to get away with half a bar per car. Some cars are better/worse than others.

Remember - You will go through a good amount of DS claying. 16oz +

So is revive like the brilliant glaze or would I use revive before the brilliant glaze and finish with Americana?

Revive is a hand Polish, you would Revive first then BG then Americana!

Like Chris said, Revive is a polish. It is a chemical polish, vs. the other Adam's polishes, which are abrasive polishes. The polishes will remove defects in the paint, with the machine applied polishes being able to remove more defects than hand applied products.

Brilliant Glaze contains products that will fill minor imperfections. This is not a long lasting product (no glaze is), which why some will top it with Americana Paste Wax.

Revive is a paint cleaner... There's no abrasives in it. It'll add depth and clean the paint.

Small circular motions are your best bet.

SHR by hand is pointless unless doing a small area.

Ok my order arrived I have a clay bar and already had some detail spray but got another with this order. I also got one bottle of Revive and another container of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comP><P><FONT size=3 face=Arial alt=

First of all yes I have watched the videos but those guys make polishing the car easy since they know what they are doing. My concern is the amount of pressure I use while applying Revive. I don’t want to mess up the finish on my car(s).

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comP><P><FONT size=3 face=Arial alt=

<o:p></o:p>

thanks....

If you have one of Adams clay bars, break it in half or some even break into thirds. Thic gives you a backup in the event you dropit. If you drop it, it trash.

You will end up using Revive on the whole car, after clay. You can use Swirl and Haze Remover, but remember, your hand cannot operate at 6000 OPM, so getting good paint correction is gonna be real tough.

Clay-->Revive-->Americana

He beat me to the punch, was my thoughts exactly. Good luck. Ask if you have more questions
