Question

Hello everyone,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comP><P><SPAN style=<o:p></o:p>

I recently completed a paint correction on my car last weekend; I used SHR and FMP, I don’t have any MSW. I then went over it with BW and the yellow hex applicator and stopped there.

<o:p></o:p>

The first order I placed for Adams products was the Adams essential detail kit and I soon followed with the Adams basic porter cable polisher kit (should have just ordered the Adams premium porter cable detail kit from the start).

<o:p></o:p>

When I doubled back and ordered the pc kit I already had a bottle of SHR so the bottle of SHR that came with the PC kit was swapped out for a bottle of BG.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Right now as it currently stands, my Adams collection of polishes/waxes consist of: SSR, SHR, FMP, RP, BG and BW.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

This weekend, when I wash my car for the first time since paint correction (it’s been raining every single day this week), which of these products should I be using after I wash the car two pad/one bucket style? Should I clay again when I finish washing and before I lay down any of these products?<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

I was just going to throw on another layer of BW but the curious side of me wants to use the RP or BG or dare I say, both? lol<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Just wanted some experienced opinions, thanks in advance<o:p></o:p>

:lurk:

I believe he means no wax protection if you wait for an Americana applicator for the BG. But you said you put a coat BW on after the correction. Since there is wax on it, just wait until you get the right app. BW usually lasts about 4-6 weeks... for me at least. You should be OK.

will do lol.

thanks guys.

so, how often do you shine addicts use FMP?

It's an 'as needed' type thing, but a couple of times a year should be good. Most do it at the beginning and end of each 'show season'. For me, I try not to do this in hot weather, so Oct/Nov and Mar/Apr.

If you applied the BW well, just wash, dry with a nice soft microfiber, and you're good. My BW has lasted 3-4 weeks, but if you drive more than I do, then less than that.

cool :glasses:

Fine Machine Polish is a Polish. Not a Wax, like Buttery Wax is.

Remember, polish for pretty, wax for protection. Americana to rule them all!

If you have only Brilliant Glaze on your paint until the correct applicator arrives, you should be fine. Don't wait more than two weeks to apply that wax, and at that point, go ahead and lay some more Brilliant Glaze down right before you lay the Buttery Wax down.

*mental note*

nice to be able to get quick answers eh?

lol yes!

You shouldn't use the Revive Hand Applicator for Brilliant Glaze. You really should be using the Americana Applicator. That's the one that by hand, lays it down the best.

You can wait until next week when the applicator shows up, just remember your paint won't have any protection on it.

Nah 1anonly no M/F applicators yet, just what I’ve acquired from the two kits and a couple of daily specials.

Claying should be done only when the "baggie test" says it's time. Maybe 2-4 times a year depending on how much the car is driven.

I agree with Chewy on the rest. Just remember this, you don't have to wax it after every wash. If you do, you will probably end up hazing the finish from too much wax.

I’ve been reading that in some threads on here, the hazing, thanks :2thumbs:

Only have one yellow hex applicator Chewy, but I have an applicator for the RP.ffice:office" /><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Should I apply the BG, clean the Hex, be patient while it dries and use it for the BW.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

Or wait until my Hex arrives in the mail, save that step for next week and use the RP now since I have an applicator for it?<o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

I wondered if the RP applicator could be used for BG also, reading the description on the Adams site and they make it seem like it should only be used for RP.<o:p></o:p>

The Revive app might be OK. Do you have a M/F app? That would work with the BG too.

Wash, put down a layer of BG and cover with BW.

I would recommend you get a second bucket and pad, and make sure they both have the grit guards in them. I use one pad for upper areas and one for lower. One bucket has straight water for pad rinsing and one for soap and water.

Good luck!

Chris
