0 onebaucom
If it's clear coated just treat it like you would paint! You can use revive, brilliant glaze, and then follow up with buttery wax. I have chrome wheels and found out mine were clear coated after I got the metal polishes. They turned out awesome after I did the revive, brilliant glaze, and buttery wax. Still easy to clean and it's been about a month so far. Oh, and welcome! =]

0 07RS4
Nice car Steve..... I did a quick search on the CSRT4 forums and it looks like those are clear coated wheels. The bad news is that there have been alot of issues with the quality of Dodge's clear coat....go figure. It may benefit you to join a forum for your car and get to know the guys. Chances are, others have been there and done that. Stock wheel clear coat issue? - Dodge Caliber Forums
0 Reichler
Yes they are cleared. To that point, I don't know any OEM who would even think of not clearing "polished" wheels. Selling a mass produced car with raw polished aluminum wheels on it would cause so many headaches for the manufacturer/dealer/owner. I'm a detailing nutjob and would NEVER want raw aluminum wheels on a daily driver. Josh - You sure about that? I'm not aware of any OEM that would even think of putting a raw aluminum wheel on their cars. Did you test MP on a freshly cleaned wheel and get black aluminum residue? Again, not saying it's not possible, but I'd be beyond shocked if they don't have clear over them.
0 csrt4
My wheel are aluminium polished but clear coated. If I have some problem with the clear coated, is it possible to remove the clear coated and polish the wheel has a true aluminium polished wheel ? 0 MichiganSRT8
Wow, I dont know how I didnt mention this my bad, well the guy I bought my jeep from apparently burnt off the clear with a dremel tool polishing them and heat. So actually just mine are un-clearcoated haha sorry for the confusion but yes I do get black residue with mine because the guy before killed them, I have a seperate setup for winter driving though and they have held up pretty well without seeing snow. But very soon they are going to be sent away to be black chromed so I wont have to worry about it
0 kdii02
They look similar to my vette wheels, Polished/Clear Coated. Clean them up then, Revive/BG/and Buttery or just Revive and hand applied MSS over top. Edited September 15, 2011 by kdii02
0 Z71_Denali
at least yours are actually polished! GM thought it would be a GREAT idea to just glue a plastic cover to the wheels that are plated chrome!!! if your dealer advertises them as "chrome clad" then they are plastic! The one thing I don't like about my truck! I kinda missed that when ordering. When I looked 2 years ago (could not afford a new truck then) , the rims I now have were chromed aluminum, but I'm guessing there were problems with that, and now we get Chrome Clad.
