DP 08 GXP
finished this one up which was in the same condition as the previous bike with bugs and dirt...had a lot of rubber under the fender from a burnout contest but APC knocked that out no problem....on with the pics before after my boy wanted in on the pics
b_pappy
Another nice job. Amazing how difficult a Harley can be to detail. Bruce

b_pappy
I ride an '06 Road Glide I try to keep clean so I don't have to go to those lengths. Nice turn around on the Heritage, love the stripe pattern on the '03's. I think Harley has some of the best black paint out there. Bruce

DP 08 GXP
Shiny!!! Can you give us a run down on what your process was, have a bike to do for a friend possibly, want to make sure it comes out looking like yours. thanks...i first let the bike sit over night to completely cool off.... -first thing i did in the morning was sprayed down the engine, chrome, windshield, and rubber with diluted APC (1:1 ratio) -i let that sit for about 5 minutes and sprayed it off....i then sprayed the same areas again with the APC and took the lug brush to get all the bugs and tiny areas cleaned up...i then sprayed the diluted on the paint to strip it down and used a small wash mitt -i sprayed the whole bike off and hit it with the metro blaster to get all the water off...sprayed with detail spray and wiped down everything -after that i went to town on the chrome with metal polish #1 and #2 -i clayed the windshield to remove all the stuck on bugs along with the headlights -for the paint i hand polished with SHR and Revive with the hex pads -i gave the whole bike a good wipe down with WW to make sure everything was off -i applied BG to the chrome and paint and wiped that off -applied americana to the paint and wiped that off -cleaned the seat and bag with LIC and conditioned it with LC -sprayed the rubber with I&O spray -did my final walk around with detail spray to add a little more shine i think that is all
dipolley
Sound like the process is dead on and the results show it. My question is this, I know how to price a car or truck, but what would you pay to have this detail on a Harley?

1MeanC3
What 'rubber' did you spray w/ I&O spray?
MrVette83
Great turn around! I have one just like it(though customized a bit differently) in my garage. Love the black on black 03s. It was thrashed in those before pics, for $80 I think he got a great deal. Did you remove the windshield to get around it and the lights? It's not solidly secured by any bolts, makes it MUCH easier for cleaning the front end.
DP 08 GXP
What 'rubber' did you spray w/ I&O spray? On the plug wires, wire loom and there was some on the foot rest clutch and handle bars Great turn around! I have one just like it(though customized a bit differently) in my garage. I was able to use the lug brush to get it cleaned up and used the other end of the brush to get into tight areas
